I am saddened and shocked. Though his time at the club has been short his influence has been massive. He saved our club and gave us all such hope for a bright future. I hope his work will be continued. RIP Markus. -

Yet another thread dragged down into a petty squabble between the usual protaganists. I really can't be bothered to go through and pick the wheat from the chaff so I'm closing the lot. Another thread with a genuine point is ruined by posters incapable of discussing an issue like adults. When will people give up?

Probably the funniest thing I've seen in ages!

I don't think it's crap. Breathing a little humour into a bad situation is always positive. -

I could not agree with your point more Minty...

I'm sorry but we are receiving multiple complaints about this thread asking for it to be locked so I am going with the popular vote and doing as requested. If people disagree with my decision please PM me rather than starting more threads on this matter. There is no agenda here, it just appears that a number of you feel it is unconstructive and unwarranted.

Nice, I enjoyed that.

Ferrari are a bunch of cheatin' b'stards full stop. They claim to be the life blood of F1 and historicaly they were. No more though. It would be better without them.

We got a 1.0 Micra in the end. 2001 model (the facelifted one) with 52k on the clock for £1000. Bodywork is not great (no rust but some dodgy respaying!) but mechanically sound and low miles. £20 of petrol has lasted over a week so far and still loads left. Much better than the Vectra SRi I drive. Only problem I can see is that it's orange! It has been christened 'The Jelly Bean'.

Yeah, I can just see my missus taking our little girl to school on the back of a scooter. Maybe she could pack her in the top box!

Our little girl is starting school in September and logistics mean we are looking for a small, economical runabout for school & work runs (time constraints mean there are no green alternatives before you ask!). We are looking to spend no more than 1k as this was not really in our budget this year, The car must be cheap as chips to run and insure so preferably a 1 litre or thereabouts (or small diesel). I am thinking Nissan Micra, VW Polo/Lupo, Ford KA/Fiesta etc etc. Anyone had good/bad/indifferent experinces with any of these or does anyone else have ideas to throw in the hat? Cheers!

The RCZ could have been a fantastic looking car if the designer hadn't been so lazy and tacked a generic Peugeot 308 nose on it. Such a shame.

It's too expensive and older Viaos are hardly known for their reliability! I brought one of these recently for £50. It needed a new screen but even so, that was only £65. That means I paid £115 for it all in all. I then sold it on for £170 (complete with HDD and OS!). Without the hard disk and OS I'd say you're looking at around £130-£150 for it.

I'm sorry but I love every form of motorsport and am a huge fan of all things 'car' but oval racing absolutely bores me to tears. Curiously, I'll happily watch a bunch of amateur drivers rubbing paint in small single make race series' at provincial UK circuits but 'Americas finest' make me switch off every time. I'm assuming hatch didn't watch this weeks Grand Prix at Istanbul by the way.

Should be a good one Ponty. Awesome showing fom your man in qualifying. Thought he was unlikely not to be the Pole on pole. Where did that come from though? Good set up or does Monaco just suit the Renault?

I can't help but agree with you on this one Stu.

If we all got off our arses and walked no-one would need taxi drivers!

Not a lot to be honest. I ran diesel Rovers throughout the 90's as company cars and I got through a few as I was doing hyper mileage (Between 50k and 100k every year). All of them did over 100k, in fact one 200 SDi I had did just under 200k, and I had no major problems with any of them. They have Perkins diesel engines which are totally bomb-proof and the rest of the mechanicals were fine. I'd recommend one at the drop of a hat and despite popular myth parts are readily available and cheap. You do need to watch the petrol ones though as they have a habit of munching head gaskets!

Sell it as an MOT failure on eBay and be honest about the welding stuff. You'll be surprised what you get for it as people like them as donors for off-roaders. Then get yourself another motor. If you particularly want a cheap, reliable 4x4 I can thoroughly recommend a Nissan Terrano and you can pick a good solid one up for notalot of dough.

McAfee? To be honest you're better off taking your chances with the viruses. They probably wont screw your PC up quite so badly!
