Billy Sharp - is he eligible to play for us now
ART replied to The Fat Controller's topic in The Saints
Today's SUN " NIGEL ADKINS wants Billy Sharp to lead Reading’s bid for a Prem return. The striker, 27, has no future at Southampton. Nottingham Forest, where he has been on loan, are also keen. -

We only have one game I know but there will be pre season, possible tour games, training sessions where, maybe, I repeat maybe, Billy may impress Pochettino, or respond to Pochettino's style. -

http://www.thisisnottingham.co.uk/story-18980162-detail/story.html#axzz2TFynT6pH Seems that Billy is back with Saints and would be eligible to train and play. Notts Forest have removed him from the pay roll but hope to come back to buy or loan again next season. I am pleased that Pochettino will at least get a chance to see him first hand and decide whether using him is worth a gamble. After all he was top scorer in pre season and goals are what we need. Playing again with quality players may see Billy up his game. Nothing to lose and everything to gain. -

News update on Christina Liebherr's recent activity http://www.weeklytimesnow.com.au/article/2013/05/09/569416_horses.html
-
What do we know of the Liebherr family, the various branches, the heirs, the sons, nephews? I recall at the time of the takeover it being mentioned that one of Markus's brothers was a keen football follower. It also mentioned he had no intentions at the time of getting involved. 1) Could it be that one of the Liebherr brothers, maybe approaching retirement, wishes now to be involved and join the board. 2) Could one of the Liebherr sons or nephews have come of age, wishes to join the board, to represent the family? I feel more and more that the Liebherr's wish to become involved at board level. Something that Cortesé doesn't feel comfortable with.

I honestly can't believe the Liebherr family can be happy with how money has been spent to date and the results gained. As I mentioned yesterday, based on what Pochettino has so far achieved, both here and previously, I wouldn't trust his ability to bring in decent players. His choice of squads, and players involved and leaving out others, leave big question marks on his capacity. If it were my money, I'd be asking a lot of questions, calling into question the Stooge on the board and his finger in too many pies. You can't say we're not getting results due to Fox and Gaston not being available. We aren't getting them because Pochettino's tinkering has resulted in lack of ability to score as we were doing previously.
-
From the Liebherr's point of view they can't be happy with the outlay of money, the failure of our purchases to do anything to improve our game. the necessity to remove Adkins and the replacement by Pochettino and his recent results leaving ud lower than when Adkins left. We are definitely changing from the clean family image club into a scruffy ramble led by a manager who can't bother to shave, (possibly not even shower) and turn up in jeans. This is not what Markus had in mind. Had we been relegated Cortesé and even the Liebherr family would no longer be about.

This other piece of news can only mean Rupert Lowe is sniffing about hoping for a triumphant return http://www.growingbusiness.co.uk/envestors-leads-5-3m-investment-in-comparafinanza-it.html

He's really looked ****ed off over the past 6 games when the cameras have zoomed in on him during games. Maybe they're holding back on the Transfer Chest and unprepared to spend out more based on recent results.
-
I seriously can't trust Pochettino to be capable of bringing in new players and building a better team that Adkins left behind. Very worrying situation he's led us into.

Pathetic, with a repeat of the past few gaes. Lallana in the role of the headless chicken and it was tilol he was replaced my Puncheon anything changed. Did anyone see the pre-match tunnel scenes. Sunderland lined up and smart and on parade. NoT a sign of Saints. Finally 90 seconds later, Lallana appears, as if he was looking for the toilet. 30 seconds later the remaining players slouch in, in a hap hazard manner. Looked a rabble, taking the lead from their pathetic Captain. Never seen a Saints team so pathetic. Never felt so much hate for a Saints player as I do for Lallana since he was APPOINTED CAPTAIN. This calls for a Jimmy Case type character to knock them back into shape.

Seems we're about to get a whole new lot dragged into the child abuse affair. " A STRING of new alleged victims have named stars including two famous singers, two TV personalities and a comedian."
-
Try spending a little time watching Spain, French and German TV and read their newspapers first hand with the interviews Pochettino gives on his plans. He quotes player after players he's planning on bringing to Saints. Oh, I forgot, you only speak Hampshire Hoggish

The comments about Clyne are just yet another of inspirational quotes which will do so much to motivate the players for the last 2 games. Not even Redknapp was that bad. http://www.ftbpro.com/posts/robby.snead/177372/southampton-to-swoop-for-malaga-s-jesus-gamez?ref=facebook&team=Southampton

Saint_Charlie, where are you when you're needed. Your pal Nixon's just tweeted Alan Nixon @reluctantnicko Protected account 7m Surprised the Southampton punters have not been asking me about the Mirror story about the Spanish right back ...

I cannot say how proud I am to read that Saint's player Danny Fox will be playing and supporting Cystic Fibrosis. Well done that man. I might say, elesewhere Luke Shaw whom I've followed since he joined Twitter couldn't even retweet my Cystic Fibrosis Appeal Tweet. Guess he's more interested in Collo-Rectal health. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/10410463._/

I've heard it all!!! Diabolical. Barraster calls for the age of consent to be lowered to 13 to avoied old men being hounded with claims. http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2013/may/09/lawyer-age-consent-persecution-men

If Chelsea win and Arsenal miss out there's a chance that Wigan may beat a deflated Arsenal team.

Tonight our 2 last opponents are playing one another. The likes of Harry Redknapp. Pardew and even Nigel would be at the game. What are the odds that Pochettino will be up there wathing both teams and sussing out how we are going to get maximum points off of them both?
-
One of the many articles online where Pochettino doesn't do anything to assure our current squad players or inspire them to fight and win points in our final games. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/southampton-transfer-news-mauricio-pochettino-1871674

If Pochettino keeps spouting off who he wants to bring in from Spain at a time when we urgently need points, ensures he's not going to get a good response from the players. It's enough to **** them off big style. To say he's naive is an under estimation, I'd rather use thick. Why does Cortesé not have a word in his ear. Nigel never let anything out of the bag, remained silent on what players we were after. I can see Nigel sitting back ready to grab any player wanting to leave.
-
Maybe Ricky has decided he wants to go to Reading to join Nigel. If I were in his place I would be sick of how Lallana runs in a grabs nearly every ball and takes corners when both Ricky and Davies are far better at placing the ball where it matters. If Lallana as Captain is in Pochettino's plans I have no faith in our long term success.

What memories, just like this little ditty and the memories of a boyhood in Southampton and on the terraces and chocolate boxes. Sure some enterprisng person could wrk round the words and write a Rcky Lamber song. "He sure is built to last, just like the Woolston Ferry and will alwsys remain in our hearts.
