  3. Back in the days when money was tight I often posted tongue in cheek posts insinuating Lowe and Cowen raised funds by betting on Saints games. The back and forward results under Redknapp would often leave me wondering whether the Redknapp and Lampard families were boost the family fortune on our results.
  4. Disgusted that such sucking up to Cortese for a new deal gets printed today of all days. Pochettino is made of the same crap as was Redknapp and Hoodle. He's using Saints as a stepping stone and will leave us when he gets another offer.....and, when he goes he'll leave us in a right s h * te, taking his mercenaries with him. Atkins had the Saints interests in is heart and would have got there fairly and surely.
  5. Graeme Le Saux did the commentary on BBC World Services cover of the game. He was full of praise for Saints and the class of our players. Finally people are beginning to really take notice of us for the first time since we got relegated in 2005.
  6. Great to see James Beattie congratulating Ricky and calling for him to play for England. Just how much longer can Hodgeson ignore his talent?
  7. Magnificent and so proud. Excellent team selection, great substitutions and once again Ricky Lambert showed he deserves the captaincy. England can't ignore him any longer. We used our heads with our play and didn't have Lallana running around like a headless chicken achieving absolutely nothing. After today I am finally beginning to believe that Pochettino will take us to another level. Well done every player, but have to say Luke and Ward-Prowse really put in some beautiful play.
  8. Very amusing clip of how women might influence the future of football. At the same time some players aren't far away from this performance. [video=youtube;8JzjAPfE-Pg]https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=8JzjAPfE-Pg
  9. Hige Saint fan is SKY's Jeff STELLING.
  10. http://www.sportinglife.com/football/video/24811/8597950/adkins-joins-reading Interesting to hear what Nigel's been doing of late.
  11. Why don't people realise these types of bid stories for the likes of Shaw and Clyne are just part of the psychological mind games being placed in the run in to us playing Chelsea at St Mary's. Hopefully neither Luke or Nathan let it go to their heads and they are able to put in a magnificent display for usl
  12. Entirely Saints
  13. Here we go!! Why do we need to go off topic instead of relishing the fact that Ricky Lambert has committed himself to Southampton Football Club because he loves being here.
  14. Best bit of information to come from the club in a long while. No one deserves this more than Ricky and shows that players who are loyal and serve the club will be looked after.
  15. Would you kindly provide concrete information to back up your "widely accepted" claim. If my memory serves me right, the cover for the Coventry deal story was a save face story put out by those who fell treacherously close to selling the club down the river. You may be able to clarify this
  16. If he's still here Pochettino will have plenty of time in the summer and pre-season.
  17. Thanks for stating the obvious.
  18. I just read that Pochettino has drafted in the Developement Squad for Training Sessions during the International break. Doesn't hold too well for the next match. This had me recalling how Strachan in his first season used the international break and arranged a closed door game against Charlton, whom I believe were also in the Premiership at the time. Another time I remember we played Le Havre in the break. Surely, even now, the Stooge in the Boardroom could use his contacts the game, to fix up a match, say, next Monday or Tuesday, against one of the promotion pushing Championship teams. I could believe there would be clubs very willing to put their players up against a Saints XI. Failing this I can't see the likes of De Ridder being much cop and then getting a place in the team against Chelsea.
  19. I find he comes across on Twitter as having frequent mood swings. gets bored easily and extremely sensitive and often lonely. I reckon he must be under some form of restriction being 17 years old, as he doesn't often seem to go out on the town. Just as long as he doesn't turn to drink and recreational drugs to find consolation. I am reminded of a certain George Best who once he turned 18 overdid his new found freedom and we all know the rest.

    Puncheon

I believe he's being lined up for Plan B against some of the teams we're up against. Too much exposure was resulting in him not playing as well although recent substitution aren't very imaginative.
  21. Surely Pochettino should be making some comments in English by now. He does speak English and should be putting in the same effort with his English as he demands of the players. At least with Bobby Robson he picked a decent and smart looking José Mourinho when he did interviews at Barcelona. Where's javi when you need him?
  22. Kind of like you tripping over your bottom lip where once you were eloquent and a delight to readl
  23. A lovely game to watch, especially the first half. My greatest fear is that the players are going to suffer from burn out and unlike under Adkins are not conserving energy between incredible these bursts of throttle. The players were superb and I don't accept it is due to "the players accepting my ideas" as Pochettino keeps spouting in interviews. Felt once again his substitution were all wrong and we really lucky Liverpool didn't turn up. Delighted with the result and the 3 points,
  24. Hoping when Cortesé sees that Pochettino is as incompetent after a few more games, he will act as decisively as he's done with Duncan
  25. Nigel Adkins deserves the full backing of every Saints supporter. after his achievements over the past 3 years, it is a travesty how he's been treated. Cortesé playing on the fact that Nigel will soon be snapped up by another club. Yet for what he achieved he should be justly rewarded
