  1. I am always amazed how players with a " if offer by a prem club of £451,352.00 is received" then the player is able to go AND strangely a bid of £451,352.00 is received from MU etc. How does this clause get leaked? Mancsaint
  2. We went out in the first round with TWO VOTES!!!!!!!!!!!!! A con by Blatter.
  3. Rumour has it the 2026 World Cup will be held in another developing nation, the Solomon Islands. Looks like collusion by the FIFA Executive Committee again. They met in a strip club in Pucket and SB told them how to vote. Mancsaint
  4. Thanks for reinding me, I did thant "survey" as well.
  5. Have sent this email FAO Mr Cortese Dear Sir, Could you please advise whether it is your intention to modernise and update the current archaic and user unfriendly online booking system. I have several complaints about the system as follows : a) I cannot select a particular seat to discover it's availability, many available seats are never offered online. Away seats are a total lottery you get what you are given, no choice next ticket off the pile. b) I cannot view the playing area from a nominated seat (can be done at FC Basel). c) Unless I buy a ticket within 5 minutes the holding reservation lapses. d) Cannot the tranches of tickets for away games available online with full seat details. e) As successive tranches are released and sold the next tranche for sale can be added. f) If every league ground uses the same system then TOTAL COST divided by 72 would be minimal for each club. g) Southampton FC could lead the way forward in coordinating the introduction a decent universal system. Will see what happens. Mancsaint
  6. I complaned bitterly to the ticket office on Saturday and was told " this is the system in use at every league club so basically like it ot lump it. I try to get the same seat in upper block 35 every game. When I last went online to book a ticket it only kept giving me the option of one of two unwanted seats. I gave up in disgust and rang the ticket line. Bingo the seat I wanted WAS available so I took it. Mentioned this to the booking clerk who gave me a derisory look and dismissed me. I wrote to David Luker last year but it was replyless. Mancsaint
  7. What years were you at St Mary's College. I was 1959-64. God I feel really old now, better have a nap after all this exertion. Mancsaint
  8. SSN say he's gone on loan to Southend.
  9. The Marketing Dept told me just after the end of last season that one was going to be produced for 2009-10 but not for the previous season, which was the season I originally enquired about.
  10. I noticed recently that a lot of money has been spent upgrading the pipework/valves etc on the gasometers so dont expect them to be demolished anytime soon. Mancsaint
  11. Markus was supposedly worth £3.3bn and this has been left to his immediate family, which means the new owners of our club are probably worth not much more, theyre nothing to financially do with the the four siblings of Markus and Liebherr Cranes etc.
  12. 1976 sat in my flat in Sydney listening to the Cup Final commentary on short wave, recording it on my reel to reel tape recorder with it's fading and coming back all the time. The goal is 913 feet into the reel. Listening to a Saints commentary on the salt flats in Bolivia, again on BBC World Service shortwave, cant remember much about the game but it was -25 outside the tent. Amazing the batteries held out in that temperature. Great result yesterday. Mancsaiunt
  13. !976 - Sitting in my flat in Sydney at 4am-ish recording BBC shortwave broadcast on my reel to reel taperecorder. Goal scored 913ft into reel. St Markus death - On the tarmac getting of a flight from Basel, sent an SMS to say I'd landed, to get reply that Markus had died. Sent response "true?" with reply "sadly, yes", still stunned.
  14. No he isn't, I spoke to him in Bangalore and he supports nobody. Mancsaint
  15. There is a possibility that, if banging his leg is true, he may have died as a result of a thrombosis caused by that knock. A blood clot can travel from the leg to the heart or brain and be fatal. This is similar to deep vein thrombosis suffered by a few after long flights. Just a guess as he died after a short illness. 16. Met Steve Grant & Stu at Basel airport this morning, so with Suewhistle as well that makes 4 going to Thun, we'll pack out the away end then....not. Was just watching the season review for Swiss Challenge League (their Championship equivalent) and Thun seemed quite handy, dont know the usual standard of their football so will have to wait and see. 17. In that case I may be there to say hello. If I do I'll be wearing a grey Saints cap. Best regards Mancsaint
  18. My waistline has already expanded way above recommended levels so it's only a small helping of Black Forest gateau .......with a large roulade (the Swiss name for a Swiss Roll) on the side. Plus a nice grosse bier. My thing is for German 18 year old blond wenches actually, Austria is too far away from the Black Forest.
  19. Sorry Steve can't get to airport on 12th (21.40 arrival I assume) I am expecting my best mate to arrive from Sweden at about the same time. Will see you at Thun no doubt. I'll be wearing a Saints shirt from the Friends Provident era. Will need get new shirt when I get back later next month. Mancsaint. PS 30+ degrees today so Saints will be sweating buckets during training.
  20. Drat, wish I'd known Saints were flying into Basel airport, would have gone along to meet them. I know now they'll probably fly out of Basel on the 18th but drat again I'll almost certainly be away in Alsace or The Black Forest again. Will try to find out exact details on Tuesday. Mancsaint
  21. Thank you Markus Liebherr, hope to see yoiu at the game on Tuesday. Come and say hello to the fans, of course that includes you Nicola as well.
  22. FC Basel have an entry system of automated manless turnstiles, Your ticket has a barcode on it and it is credit card size. Must save a fortune.
  23. My train from Basel to Thun is CH64.40 return. If you go to "http://mct.sbb.ch/mct/en/reisemarkt/abos-billette/billette/sparbillette.htm" there are cheaper tickets available but supply is limited. Suggest getting in quick as the fares relate to individual trains.Tickets can be bought over the internet I'm on the 13.01 from Basel SBB arriving 1.5 hrs later and returning at 2133 arrive Basel 2255. Luckily I've got some where to stay as I'm housesitting in Basel for the summer.
  24. Will the club allow the purchase of tickets to all home scheduled league games for the season or restrict sales to a month or so in advance. If you were only on the database last season you could only by home tickets 12days before that KO, not much chance of multiple purchases there.
  25. My Dad did it on 1st July 1966 I never forgave him or have never ever done it myself.
