these two points are not unconnected. We can argue all day about whether the smoking ban was right or wrong, but I dont think anyone can sensibly argue that, since the ban started, pubs are a/ less full, and b/ closing down at a much faster rate than before it. (Im not a smoker btw, the only effect its had on me is that there are fewer pubs to drink in.)
