  2. There was a blind guy next to me in the cinema last week. Every time a baddie came on screen his guide dog growled and bared his teeth, but when the good guy showed up the dog started wagging his tail and barking. After the film I said to the blind bloke "I can't believe your dog was enjoying the film." "Neither can I," he replied. "He hated the book."
  3. Blimey, I bet that smarted.
  4. Tony's right though. If we don't beat QPR on Saturday after losing at home to Swansea, we can pretty much kiss goodbye to top 4. And while Aussie is right that if we lose and spurs win then they still have us to play, well if we can't beat QPR then we're unlikely to turn spurs over.
  5. FFS...keep it on topic, puhleeaze!!! We're supposed to be ridiculing the new poster here. Enough of this forum b*llocks already.
  6. Hers a hint, Grigsy. If you fork over a paltry fiver to steve grants curry fund, you can edit your posts and minimise your embarrassment.

Sounds nice and simple. But the problem with the january window is that most clubs are looking beyond the simple "what is he worth" bit, its more like "what is he worth at this specific moment, and would signing him impact on our chances of getting a CL spot with all the money and kudos that would bring with it." I know nothing about this guy. But I'm guessing the club will have assessed his value based on other factors than, say, his general value in the summer window.
  8. Could they get a manager in on loan?
  9. Maybe his red card convinced the board that he cares?
  10. I'm a bit gutted by this, tbh. Can't understand why successive managers don't seem to have rated him, a solid, tidy player who very rarely put a pass astray. Versatile as well, I'd have thought he was exactly the type we'd want in the squad if we have any genuine aspirations towards european football. I'm also hoping like hell that this move doesn't affect Ryan Bertrands view of a permanent move here. Good luck Jack, and thanks.
  11. Its amazing to me that spurs are suddenly banging them in. Pochettinos MO with us was always loads of fruitless possession, ultra solid back line, and win by the odd goal.
  12. I doubt that, but she certainly makes an excellent owner who we're very lucky to have.
  13. Great news. Very good player, and probably the best set piece deliverer we have. We were crying out for that last season.
  14. You must be psychic Wade, that's just exactly what I was thinking!! I thought "if anyone will get him scoring, it'll be Big Ron."
  15. If it happens at all, I'd guess it will be someone we've never heard of, like most of the players who've come in this season. I don't know whether or not big Ron and the management are looking to buy or loan in during this window, but you have to say that we'd look a pretty good prospect to any player looking for a move. 3rd in the prem, chance of CL, etc...

    Long injured

My mrs is a recovery nurse and just had a look at this picture. She says the dressing on Shanes right side could be a drain, but thinks it more likely that its a dressing to keep his oxygen tube in place. She also wanted to know "what makes it so f*cking important." Wimmin, eh?
  17. Fixed.

    Excellent.
  19. eh?
  20. There's also been a general perception that no eurozone members will ever be allowed to leave it. Bring it on.
  21. They should never have been in the sort of debt they're in, because they should never have joined (or been allowed/persuaded to join) the eurozone in the first place. The whole thing is a farce. Why were Italy allowed into it? Greece, Italy and others always just used to add a few zeros to the drachma or lira every decade or so, and lenders knew that would happen and adjusted their lending rates accordingly. It didn't affect anybody else. I have very little but contempt for Blair and Brown, but the two things I'll credit Brown with were a: depoliticising interest rates, and b: keeping us out of the eurozone, despite blairs fervent wish to enter it. imo, probably the two most important economic decisions since the war.
