  1. Oh i agree with that bit, like Steve mentions above looking after it is a mission in itself. It would be good if maybe the club could hang it somewhere. Maybe even on the outside of the stadium near Ted's statue. Does not need to be there fulltime but maybe after the first game it could be put somewhere for a few months. I don't think many people see this as a fulltime thing or the only tribute to Markus. That is why i think what Nick said is offensive, Because realisticly right now this is the only true visible thing we as the fans can do in such a short space of time. Talking about a statue or a stand in place of the flag in my view goes down a more political road. As we would have to get a **** load of money together and have to ask the family of Markus to change the stands. If they say no or we can't get the money together it has the potential to create a ****storm that could subtract from the point of the whole thing. The point of which is the fans coming together to remember Markus and show our appreciation for what he did here. The flag represents a way in which all fans can help out and show their appreciation by donating a small amount of change. It isn't a political thing. It isn't a longterm rememberence thing nor trying to be. Markus died on the 10th of august and it is likely we will have our first home game around that date next season. Even if the flag is used just once on that day and never seen again it will have served it's point. As i mentioned before as a fan i would much rather that game be a day where the fans show their support and appreciation for Markus and to do so in whichever way suits them. The flag is our way and if Nick thinks there is a better way then he should go do it. It would of been nice to see him put up the links and help promote it on his site as we have here or on previous sites for his various events.
  2. Maybe it was just me then but where he says "I have always been a big advocate of this football club honouring its true legends, I am not against a tribute to Markus Liebherr, I am all for it, but I am for something permanent, not a flag that will have a short shelf life and in a season or so will be tatty and perhaps stuck in a shed somewhere, is that a fitting tribute for Markus ?" Seems like a dig to me. Nick should know that the cost of getting a statue made is very expensive. The Ted Bates one cost in in excess of £100,000. Of which the majority was paid for by the club. How would we get that type of money to do something like that in such a short space of time? Seems un-realistic to me and thus pointless to even talk about right now. Naming the stands after legends of the club while a good idea is not something we can choose to do. To steal our managers saying "we can only control the controlables". It is up to the owners if they want to change them or not. The flag is something we can do and is something we can do in a short space of time. Sure it isn't the most amazing tribute to Markus and i'm sure we would all like some permanent tribute that can stand on it's own through the years to remind generations of the guy. Rather then use his site to put it down i'd much rather he used it to try and generate awarness to the cause because ultimatly it is is a tribute from the fans. Seeing as he is a spokesman for the fans you would think he would do the same.
  3. I don't think there are any arguments are there? If there is then would be a very one sided argument. Reason i posted what i said in here was because it was already bumped and didn't see the need for a new thread on the guy. Best to keep it all in one place no? So sorry you don't like it but you do have the option to not read it.
  4. And his latest one is an article with a dig at our flag tribute to Markus. And people wonder why he is seen as a prat by a lot of people....
  5. Great news and a great gesture by our chairman. But to echo what others have said it would be great to do this on our own. Getting this done with just the fans involved will show a huge amount of respect to the big man and his family from us. Maybe get them to put something up on the screen about it or mention it at half time over the pa system. Every little bit helps.
  6. Danny Graham from Watford. Top scorer in championship this year and in team of the year. Watford not doing too well in the league and probably need to sell players. Would be a good addition. But i'd imagine loads of teams would be interested in him right now.
  7. Bompey simply because means less miles to travel to an away game next year
  8. Good job mate, have donated and hope others do too as i think it is the least we can do. Is a good way for the fans to show our respect for the big man.
  9. He will be a championship player before that match
  10. Don't forget to mention the whole "he hates the clubs legends/history" thing to! It is a complete joke! The club should have some of the legends on the pitch at half time, maybe get the fa cup team back together for the fans at one of our home cup games. Or maybe put on a legends vs current squad match at St Mary's with WGS as their manager and make it free to get in? That would be a start! Oh wait....
  11. Great result today but we really must win it on monday. Reason i think that is Walsall have become a bastard team who grind out draws away. They will need to win to stay up so they will be coming fired up. Drawn 4 of their last 5 away games. Plymouth have a decent recent home record, winning 4 of the last 5. But i think their defeat today will make them know it's over. They have to win both their remaining games and then hope others lose. So i think they will be there for the taking. A loss or a draw will make the last game a real nervous one. It will be like that Sheff Utd game. I think i might have a heart attack if we go through that again....
  12. It is a lot harder to say who should win in comparison to last years. Lambert was by far the best player. This year however there are a few who you could say deserve it and would not be annoyed if either of them got it. But i think overall my vote goes to Fonte. He has been fantastic for most of the season. Him and Jaidi have struck up a good pairing and our goals against record is mostly down to those two guys. Lallana is another player who has done really well and has changed so many games with a bit of individual magic. Our team looks a lot weaker when he does not play which shows how important he is to us. So i'd vote 1. Fonte 2. Lallana 3. Jaidi

    PSN outage

Here is a good article for you Barfy from Eurogamer http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-psn-security-scandal It should help you to understand why Sony are in so much trouble from this and why people are so angry. It really isn't xbox fans being ****ed off at Sony. It is that your details (name, date of birth, address, country, credit card, bank account, email address and whatever Sony won't reveal) are now in the hands of people you really don't want to have. With basically no security to stop them getting to it.
  14. Good job mate. Be happy to donate once it is up and running!

    PSN outage

Not quite. Live was up and down through those 2 weeks but was never offline for more then 3hrs at a single time. Not everyone was affected by it and it mostly affected the ability to buy items from the marketplace. You could still play games online just couldn't buy add-ons for them. If you want to re-live that period and see what happened can read this thread http://uk.gamespot.com/forums/topic/26614899/is-live-down-again--well-it-seems-to-be-working-right-now?page=0 So not quite the same thing. One was up and down for some people. PSN is down for everyone for a week. Personally i would not be worried about not being able to play games. I'd be more worried that your credit card and personal details could have been stolen http://www.pcworld.com/article/226162/Sony_Yet_to_Determine_Scope_of_PlayStation_Network_Attack.html
  17. Pardew left after the 3rd league game. Had a win, draw and a loss. Same results as Huddersfield and Brighton. We then lost 2 games with no manager and Adkins then took over on the 12th of sept with his first game against Mk Dons on the 15th. So when Adkins took over on the 12th our results were played 5, won 1, drawn 1 and lost 3. Brighton's was played 5, won 3, lost 1 and drawn 1. Meaning when Adkins took over they were 6 points ahead of us. The gap is now 16 points and could be either 13 or 19 tomorrow. Showing those stats is not me having a go at Adkins far from it. It is just to highlight that while we are doing well we have not done as well as others. Adkins has done really well and you can't compare him to things that happened in the past. They are different times. We have a great chance to go up this year and unless we implode i can't see us throwing it away. But if we don't then there will be plenty of games we can look back on this season and ask what happened. Games that he was in charge. You can't look at the two games where we had no manager and say that cost us. Having 41 games should b enough to be ahead of 22 other teams. And that was my point.
  18. Plus also people seem to ignore the fact Brighton and Huddersfield all had the same results as Pardew at the start of the season. We all had 4 points. But for some reason people only say it was us who got off to a poor start.... The reality is if we lose tomorrow we will have lost more games under Adkins then we did for the entire season last year. That is including a period of building and bringing in the players we now have. Adkins has done very well but i don't think he has been as handicapped as some try and make out. Tomorrow is a big game for him. A bit like last season when we played Leeds,Norwich and Charlton when they were flying. He made a lot of comments about how they will chase us if they can keep up and that means Brighton will be well up for this game. He has to get the team going out there and play the best we have played in a longtime. If we win then i think we will be going up. I got a good feeling and think we will win 1-2 and will be there cheering them on!
  19. Just saw http://www.greenmangaming.com/games/football-manager-2011/ are selling it for £9.96 as a download. You buy it, they give you a steam code, enter it on steam and it is then in your games list forever. Only until saturday though. At that price i thought might as'well finally upgrade from 2010
  20. Fair play to them. They have been consistent from about the 3rd game onwards. Always play positive football and look to score goals. Only lost 2 games this year. Poyet has done very well and has quietly gone about his business. We should be playing them next year unless we seriously fook things up.
  21. Would happily chip in some cash too. Think it is a great idea and am sure the club would support it. If we get onto them early enough they might even help out with some of it or put something on the OS about it.
  22. 7 games would be what 15%-20% of the seasons games? I guess it depends on your definition of start really. Personally i would say the first 3 or 4 games is the start. Most teams are up for the new season and squads getting used to new players. Which means teams can drop points as they get used to each other. Happened with us,Brighton and Huddersfield in that period.
  23. After the first 3 games we actually had the same results as them. We both got off to average starts. But from that point they have been consistent almost every weekend. In their last 20 games they have won 16 of them. Where as we won 13. Which in my opinion means there are no real excuses as to why they are ahead of us. They are just a better team this year then us.
  24. No chance really. Based on our last 8 played we have almost identical results. Both got 22 from 24 points. Which is amazing in itself. Brighton have been consistent from the start pretty much and i can't see them blowing a 13 point lead with only 6 games left. That would mean they would have to lose at least 4 of the 6. Seeing as they lost only 5 all season i think even the most positive of people have to say that would be very unlikely. We just need to continue doing what we are doing. Concentrate on ourselves. We do that and we go up too.
  25. When your owner gives money to a club don't they always say it is written down as a loan rather then a donation? Using Abramovich as an example here. When he gives money to the club it goes down as a "loan from Chelsea Ltd". Which in the 08-09 report was at £369m. Seeing as they spent loads of cash since then i.e Torres would expect that to be a lot higher now. Point being just because it says the words loan does not mean it has to be paid back. The fact it states "more then five years" does not actually indicate when/if it has to be paid back. More then five years could be 500 years. The way i see it that is just a donation to help with the running costs of the club. Not a true debt.
