You do have to wonder whether all the contract/transfer speculation regarding Clyne, Wanyama and Morgan has demoralised the team either that or they have simply ran out of steam. I would say Wanyama has looked like his mind is elsewhere since that Arsenal talk surfaced. Fair play to Morgan who has maintained standards throughout even though plainly obvious he sees his future elsewhere. -
Gardos has been a strange one. He's looked decent against the big teams (chelsea home, man utd away for example) but struggled in "lesser" games particularly against Sheffield Utd and Ipswich home. He may find that consistency and turn out to be a shrewd signing.

Good read. Easy to understand when they break it down the way they have.

Schniderlin to spurs for players plus cash???
jasoneuelllfanclub replied to Turkish's topic in The Saints
If Morgan ends up at Spurs then that will be a big slap in the face to Saints given he has publicly made it known he wants to play in the Champions League. He can do so much better than Spurs. He can play for any of the top 4 and in my opinion he wouldn't look out of place playing for Barcelona, he is that good. I think these stories are coming from Spurs to deliberately unsettle the team and maybe Morgan. Why the **** Saints would take Townsend and Stromboli in exchange is beyond me esp Stromboli. Garbage story. -
A bit OTT the posts on here. Yes he goes over a bit too easily. Most teams have that type of player. Until FA enforce retrospective action then players will continue to try it on. If you cant beat them join them i say.

Toby - Pull out all the stops to get him even if it means renegotiating the agreed fee with his club. I would be very happy for Saints to smash transfer record on him given how good I think he is. The only slight concern is how injury prone he will be. Elia - No. Apart from Newcastle away he has been ineffective. Djuricic - Looked decent in first half against Liverpool. Ankle injury has obviously put paid to his chance to shine. I would say no on what I have seen so far. We will need a true winger who can put a decent cross in. Pelle thrives on that kind of service. Bertrand our best crosser from open play. Tadic isnt a good crosser imo.
-
Back in February Sandro got sent off for QPR U21 game but FA confirmed he was available for next PL game.
-
I would play Reed in CDM (assuming Toby out) and have him keep close eye on Eriksen. Keep the same system played at Stoke because we created more than usual, so Mane playing off Pelle or Long. I personally would go for Long because Spurs defence is awful and very static so utilise his and mane's pace to get in behind. Steven Davis either needs to be dropped or a kick up the arse. He has been pig awful of late (bar 2nd half Burnley). Be good if Djuricic is fit again to give us another option. Elia is a waste of space.
-
Our current system wouldn't benefit from having Hernandez. We've been crying out for Mane to play off or alongside Pelle but Koeman still hasnt budged from his 4-2-3-1 system so cant see Hernandez fitting in. He cant play the lone role upfront.
-
I think Koeman will drop Mane again. Was largely ineffective on saturday plus koeman wasnt happy with him trying to go against team orders ref penalty. Koeman seems to have concerns about Mane's professionalism but he is still relatively young so hopefully he will mature in time. Every saints fan knows he isnt a winger and should play more central but koeman seems reluctant to play that system now. I would drop Davis and start Tadic and have Mane taking up the #10 role with Tadic and Long out wide. Recall clyne back to RB and Move Toby to CB where I think he will be needed more.

Let's calm down and re-group...
jasoneuelllfanclub replied to Unbelievable Jeff's topic in The Saints
I agree with those that think we are to slow building attacks. It certainly allows the opposition to retrieve and form a defensive wall which we then dont have the guile to break down. The amount of side wards passing between the defenders is mind numbing at times. That said the attackers are also very static which obviously doesnt give defenders and midfielders much option for an outlet. Teams have naturally worked us out in the second half of the season. However our run in on paper still gives us a fighting chance should we somehow start scoring again. -
Why would Koeman revert back to 5-3-2 when we have won 5 away games on the spin? Extra space when playing away helps. Its home games he needs to apply a new system which involves more players being in box during attacks. Keep the same system but change the line up: --------------------forster------------------------ clyne fonte yoshida bertrand ------------wanyama morgan---------------- Djrucic Mane Tadic -----------------------Long----------------------
-
Be really gut wrenching if we lost this game not just because of the recent history between the clubs but the fact we should be far fresher than them given their fixture schedule. Rodgers hasnt changed his line up much at all of late, generally picks from the same 13/14 players to start plus they have two games coming up before they play us. They play Besiktas at home on the Thursday. The key is having Toby back to help deal with Liverpool's pace in attack. On the flip side there defense is very static and slow so likes of Mane, Elia and Djuričić can exploit that. Morgan and Vic should be able to dominate the midfield.

I thought the same, every photo posted on twitter after game he looked miserable in.

Cropper was 3rd keeper yesterday so I would take a punt on gazza leaving on loan and boruc free transfer. Mayuka will be farmed out on loan and possibly Jos. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

No. Taider has been allowed to return to Italy partly because Cork is now staying. Pretty sure Taider was brought in to replace Cork who was on brink of move to palace before Pulis left.
-
I think Ings is happy to see out his contract. Burnley will go down almost certainly so he will want to move on in any case. There summer acquisitions are somewhat underwhelming. They will get a development fee via tribunal for him so they wont be totally screwed over.
-
Just dont see us scoring from open play even with West Ham's injury problems and dont see us keeping a clean sheet so 2-0 home win.

So which is it then? Works at club or is one of the players father? -

If Morgan is sold then Koeman will look just as weak as Kruegar and reed. Koeman has said Morgan won't be sold and that he has accepted the situation. However I would personally be very surprised if Morgan still at club next Tuesday. Not sure if his subdued performance on sat was down to not trying or lack of match fitness. To be fair the whole team was garbage so bit unfair to single him out. Can see Townsend plus cash coming our way in exchange for Morgan. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Townsend is not in squad today, fully fit apparently. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
