  1. I'm personally disappointed that he's gone - he offered us a sense of the future that Euell, Raza, Saga don't. Now we have to blood a new forwards for the future with no certainty of any experienced strikers being there to help bring them on - I bet Milwall are licking their lips at the thought of getting first crack at us, with a weakened front line .............................
  2. We've 61 pages of fact, fiction, opinion and speculation on this thread - I can't figure out what's real any more. There's got to be a better way to separate out conjecture and opinon (which I still want to read and comment on) vs fact........
  3. Why will he lose credibility? He's been sincere in wanting to help the club and fans since the beginning of this debacle. His credibility has gone up and will stay that way even if pinnacle fail - he's shown that he loves this club as much as the fans on this forum.
  4. You're right, he does look relaxed and confident - no hesistation with any of the questions or his answers. I think he's gonna be a good un !
  5. Th FL say absolutely nothing about our position - what a fob-off !!! Reading this (if you didn't know the background) you wouldn't know there was a real point of contention between Pinnacle and the FL.
  6. Thanks Matthew Le God I've stopped looking through some of the threads - they are so large and many seem to degenerate into pages of *****ing amongst the posters - I can't be bothered to scroll through all that stuff looking for real news.
  7. I'm not depressed yet - I'm still convinced that something will happen this afternoon and by 5 o'clok we'll all be smiling !
  8. Yes, I think he would do a good job for us - BUT after a couple of successful seasons i think hae would be off (back to Newcastle !!!)
  9. Maybe he wasn't as consistent as we all would have liked but he was one of the few current players who I felt could do something special when we needed it. He had the skill to go past all those 6 footers in every backline who snuff out any cross but can't cope with someone running at speed at them. If it was my decision I would keep (on lower wages).
  10. It's a great picture - keep it ! It caught my eye and seemed to sum up the mood of everyone as we await news.
  11. Good tune but I got bored waiting for the chorus.
  12. I've only just read the post from Tony and it was a fantastic relief to hear such positive news. I don't expect things on the footballing side to turn around overnight, so to hear a message talking about building for the long term is really encouraging. As somebody sadi earlier on this thread - now we can start thinking about football once again!
  13. Great Post - and you've highlighted what's great about this club - the fans and their passion for their club. My first game was December 63 (i think), 3-3 draw against Northampton - Terry Paine scored - I didn't have a clue as to who was supposed to be good or bad - BUT the atmosphere was brilliant and the fact that I was there with my dad and my uncles, I was hooked. I remember the first game I took my hipper to - against Luton - with Dean Keily on loan - boy did the crowd give him some stick - but it had the same effect on my son as my first match had on me. It's the fans that count !
  14. I didn't know this song - but it's pretty good - great chorus that could get everyone singing along. Get's my vote!
  15. When most Div 1 clubs are already planning for next season and we still don't know if we will exist, let alone who will manage us or who will play for us if we do survive - they have such a head-start on us andwe start with at least -10 pts, then I don't think we can do much more that hope for survival next season. What's the odds on us getting relegated - that might be a more interesting thread............................
  16. Good effort, but take my advice and stick to the day job
  17. + 1 I just wish I had the talent to express myself in the way these lads have done - good stuff!
  18. I didn't put money in the buckets at the games for this very resaon. The players (not the academy kids) earn fantastic wages. They could have done more to help the club than anyone over the last 4 weeks - and before anybody says they might have done something but asked for it not to bemade public - I don't believe this. The club is in dire finacial trouble, this is the time for public statements of support. If we survive I truly hope we throw all these jokers out and start with a new team.
  19. Interesting to read that we were aiming for mid-table security - like Derby, Leicester and Wimbledon and we were watched by a crowd of 15000+
  20. Totally agree and if we don't change our mindset we'll struggle in L1 as well!
  21. It was clear that there were a lot of Saints fans in the Kingsland who were going on the pitch no matter what happened. But the incident at the Burnley end was really a bunch of kids shouting and throwing plastic bottles at one another. The police and stewards made a barrier in front of the Burnley fans and that allowed the lads to shout at one another and pretend to be "hard".
  22. I've just bought 2 tickets for myself and the nipper. I'm going for the club - now's the time to show your support for your club. This is not the time to sit back and point the finger of blame. The fans need to show any potential new owner the true level of support.
  23. No excuse - we're turning up because we are SOUTHAMPTON fans! In bad times true fans support their club, that's when when we needed the most. I coming with my Nipper and we'll be in Northam corner support the SAINTS !
