  1. Trying not to panic - but the current trend is not good - everyone said the Milwall and Huddersfield are contenders and we shouldn't expect much from these games. OK now we play Swindon and not only do we lose but we play terribly. We're talking about professional footballers - just because my boss leaves doen't mean I become a complete t*sser at work, I carry on doing my best - when the new boss arrives I do my best to impress him. What is it with this squad that they can't do the same????????
  2. This is great news if it comes to fruition - I think we need to sort out the midfield before we do anything else.
  3. Even if he was approached he would say no (imo)
  4. You're absolutely spot on - the volley against Luton was top draw ! I also liked the fact that he seems willing and capable of shooting from outside the box.
  5. I think every time the stewards get the Kinglsand to sit down we should break into a chorus of "stand up if you love the Saints!". That'll thwart their efforts!
  6. What a load of old cobblers ! How can acknowledging a legend reflect negatively on ML et al.
  7. + 1 on Thomas. I thought he looked good at the back
  8. I was in the Northam and I don't think you can say "nothing" came out of there after they levelled. Yes, the mood went down for 5 - 10 mins or so as people tried to figure out if this was the Saints of the past few seasons, who were going to capitulate and lose or the new era Saints who would fight back. The N.end did start singing again - at least where I was standing.
  9. I thought the same - if he's in the squad then get him in a saints shirt and take a photo - how difficult is it to do this?? Posting his picture in a polo shirt just sends all the wrong messages about the man.
  10. If Arsene Wenger can sign in players we've never heard of before and turn them into repsected players why not AP ? I'd rather bring in some proven young players who might be unknown to us but will get us out of this league than spend money on known players who might not have their heart set on playing lge 1 but have nowhere else to go.
  11. Someone please close this thread !
  12. Good to hear that he's excited and that they plan to bring in new players. The news to me was that both he and ML frequently consult their wives, we need to find out more about these two influential women !
  13. Emile Hesky ? or if we can't get him, does he have a brother ?
  14. I didn't stay up - knackered after going to the game - and sounds like I didn't miss too much.
  15. Can you start another thread and give us all more details ????? This is much more interesting than going back to 70's style punch-ups discussions.
  16. There were plenty in the Chapel Arms before the game and I didn't see any issues.
  17. I was watching Thomas quite a lot in the second half (being stood in the Northam and as they spent quite some time attacking) and he snuffed out a lot of attacks by good positional play. Especially down our right flank where they applied a lot of pressure - but that left Perry with a lot to do in the centre. Milwall did a good job of trying to break the back line, but it held well. My disappointment was that we gave th eball awayin midfield too easily in the late 2H at this allowed Milwall to keep pressurising. As somebody said last season we would have lost this game - so I think things in defense have improved.
  18. Just back from the game and very pleased with the performance. Excellent work by the back four and the midlfield do did a good job until mid way through the second half of containing Milwall. However their subsitutions worked well for them and they looked dangerous, whereas ours did not and Milwall finished the game well. I know a lot of people don't like Wotton but in the first half I thought he was one of our best players. Our attack was poor - in the first half Milwall were poor and with a better attack I think we could have won this game by half time. Nobody seems to create space or run behind the defense - we played a lot of balls in the air and even when we won them they never went to any of our players. Saga tried but was very ineffective. Patterson was ok but nobody seemed to come up and help them from midfield. We need a good attacking midlfielder and someone with pace to run through defenses - Milwall CBs were slow but nobody seemed willing to run at them with the ball. If Milwall are one of the better teams in Lge 1, then we are definitely top half material - we need more quality up front to be more than top half.
  19. Exactly - there's no better way to get attention from another club than to be banging in goals like there's no tomorrow.
  20. Let's hope Saga's up for it on Saturday!
  21. Have you also been to Stockport and Darlington recently ???
  22. I think you overlook a very important point - teams like Chelsea lose a lot of money every year on an operating basis - they continue to survive because a rich man puts his hands in his pocket and covers the annual debt. That's not responsible management of a football club. Why isn't that punished in the same way that going into admin is ? What's type of behaviour is the punishment of pointsdeduction supposed to discourage ?? As others have said this is not equitable response to poor management from the FA.
  23. If we're 3 - 0 up by then perhaps we could survive (please don't remind about Leeds!)
  24. If we win lots of away games wearing this kit then I will love it and will even buy one - otherwise I'm not a big fan !
  25. Today's the day in which nothing will happen, but wait until tomorrow.........................
