  1. There's some ideas on another thread - in the away section (i hope this link works!) http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=16739 However with 3000 + going I would say any pub is going to have a fair few Saints fans in it.
  2. Afterthe Britol Rovers they were probably the right odds.
  3. Keegan was absolutely magic, a great player IMO and boy did he enhance the team. Let me add one of my favouties - Steve Williams, what an excellent midfield player, left us for Arsenal - not sure he won anything there though.......
  4. I would liked to have seen Martin Chivers play (before he went off to Spuds). I only ever saw Terry Paine play once.
  5. Too much gas vs coffee for me! Thanks for the tip!
  6. I know that the state of the coffee at SMS may seem trivial to some, but to those of us who have a 2 hour drive after the game and actually seek a caffeine kick at half time it's something that of real importance.............. Caterers Out !
  7. Must be tough when you love your club passionately then see 3000 + away fans turning up for a game and almost out-numbering you on yr own ground. It must leave even the die-hard fan wondering how he / she ended up loving a small club!
  8. Hey, well you're welcome in my house because I do exactly the same thing - trouble is the over recent years I've been sulking most of the time, not celebrating.
  9. Great reports - just like the reports from the matches - these are things which keep me going during the week. Thanks to the forum for setting this up!
  10. My question: Which Saints shirt is your favourite and now we don't need deals with manufacturers or sponsors, when you bring it back ?
  11. I'd forgotten this game - it was immense. I was totally surprised by the number of Saints fnas there. I was at Uni in Leeds, told my mates that I'd see them at the game - got there and couldn't find anyone in the huge mass of saints fans - and the game was a cracker !
  12. Great report - thanks for taking time to write it up for us !
  13. Ron - our thoughts are with you and your wife at this difficult time.
  14. Do you think he's ever been inside an art gallery? He most probably doesn't even know what one is !
  15. I took my daughter to her first Saints game, FA cup against Newcastle, we lost 3 - 0, she's never been back - I hope you have better fortune!
  16. With everyone else going I've just decided to go with the nipper - looking forward to it already !
  17. Kevin Davies at Bolton - didn't seem to do much for - stalwart at Bolton!
  18. You're right it was LC, sorry for the confusion - I'm still in shock about his pathetic attempts to explain how this wasn't really a problem for SFC when the rest of the world could see that it was...........................
  19. Lowest point was at the star tof the administration when MW went on the radio to explian how it wasn't SFC but Southamption Leisure who was in admin. He was asked one or two questions and his answers start to sound ridiculous. I though to myself, "OMG, these jokers don't know what they're doing.............." That was when i realised it was going to get a lot worse before it got better. On the pitch the Charlton game, we still had the chance to take the ten point penalty last season and start this season with zero points. The fans turned out in large numbers - the atmosphere was electric, appeals from Lawrie and others built the tension before kick-off and then the game started..................... Saints weren't interested, that's when I first got angry - people paying for tickets and putting money into collection buckets to pay the wages of the guys on the pitch who didn't look bothered abut whether they won or lost.
  20. No - I like the way things are being run now. The info NC gave out at the recent fans forum was down-to-earth, and gave every impression of being totally sincere and honest. Let's keep it this way!!
  21. The FE is an institution - I can still remember in the 70's, after finishing my Sat. job in M&S coming out to find my dad reading it in the car - invariably we had lost........... that's part of the institution as well.... but Saturday night couldn't be right without the Football Echo to read..
  22. This sounds pretty easy and certainly a tune that everyone (at least of my generation) should know !!!
  23. I'll be more convinced when we've strung together a winning sequence of at least 4 league games. Still think we will need some luck (and excellent form) to reach the play-offs this season
  24. Very creative, but I'll need to hear someone sing it first before it'll sink into my tonedeaf head! The first two lines work really well but I can't remember the tune well enough to get last the 3rd line without thinking I've scr*wed it up !
  25. Ok- then let's count that as one of our "lucky" moments for this season, something we need to remember when the rub of the green is against us later thie season.
