It was almost impossible to see anything on the highlights - but I don't think the Southend players protested as if Trottman did kick the ball out of his hands. They all looked a bit half-hearted in their protests.

However don't forget that with our "new team" we lost at home to Bristol Rovers, so furhter slip-ups are possible. As as i would love us to get into 6th place I still think it might be too ambitious considering the 10 point penalty and our lack lustre start to the season.

When you are old enough then you'll understand. I have 3 kids, 2 girls and a boy, they've all been to SMS, but only the nipper has caught the bug from me. At least the girls sit down and watch Engand games with me and the ask about Saints but that's it. Even the missus has been to games with me (mainly away games as we lived up North), and that was in the 80's when the away end only ever had 150 fans in it - most of them trouble makers looking for Saints fans to beat up. When you love two things - your family and Saints you desperately want to them to love each other. That's what it's all about!

I starting taking my lad about 3 seasons ago. He was around 14 and not into football at all - but he loved it. It was an entry into a new world for him. Also (as we also live in Sussex) it's become a boy's day out - not sure where you live in Sussex but it's a good 1hr 45mins drive from where we live, plus all the hassle of getting out of Soton after the game, so you need to be sure he'll enjoy the trip as well as the game.

I prefer the ones with cream in as well as jam.

AP said that his intent this season is to give the team "identity", that he's only just getting to know that players and from there to develop the team's identity. He doesn't rule out the possibility of promotion, but that's not a goal, perhaps just a possibility.

Unfortunately i won't be there, but I'll still be cheering the lads on!

I've always been confused that we've haven't seemed to focus more on defense over te past few seasons. A solid back line allows midfield and the forwards to play with more confidence and hopefully score more goals.

Also he brings back some great inside knowledge of MK - useful for when we play them in the play-offs at the end of the season!
