The same thing always amazes me -I've paid to watch the game, not to eat a crap pie in the concourse. -
Some team from the CCC - I'd like to see how the team perform against a "supposedly" better team. WBA at home would be a good test for us.
-
Best I ever saw from an English team were Newcastle fans doing a conga on the terraces in Zurich, mid-winter with their shirts off. Maybe not quite the continental European style of jumping up and down, but still very effective !
-
Excellent !

In the end we all have a choice - we can read this thread, enjoy it and come back each week until the "run" has ended. Or we can read it once and ignore it. As they say if you don't like you don't have to read it.
-
But we've only played 18 games with a reward of 16 points - you seems to be a game ahead of the rest of us - or do you have a crystal ball ??
-
I've only been to two of these games Leyton and Brighton (plus Colchester and Milwall)- so am I am jinx and should I stop going to watch Saints ?????
-
Tell us more !!!

That makes excellent reading - Southampton players scoring lots of goals! Great result, well done to the team and the fans who made the trip.

As much as I enjoy Poopey's misfortunes, this one isn't enjoyable. -
I haven't seen this before - it was excellent, thanks !

I was concerned about playing Norwich straight after Brighton - was worried that we might lose so I'm happy with a point against a promotion contender.
-
I'm so slow I have to skip words every now and again to keep up with everyone else !

I have to admit after advocating for a "home end" and pushing the away fans into a corner I now realise that we may never create a wall of sound I was anticipating. On Sunday there were about 3 main groups in the Northam / Kingsland corner starting up songs - I was in the middle and wasn't sure which one to join in with. If all the singing fans were allowed into one end, without efforts to harmonise the songs, we'd just end up singing over the top of one another...............
-
I love this song plus the additional lines - this plus OWTS, plus Rickie and WIWALB - interspersed with a few "red army", "the saints" chants will keep me going for for a whole game !! Unfortunately whenever I try to start a song everyone around just ignores me, so if someone can get it started then I'll hapily join in.

What happened to Paterson - did he go out on loan or just dropped out of sight ? I would still like to see players coming through for the academy / reserves - he had a couple of good games, maybe he CDAJFU?
-
I'm with you on this one!

I agree I don't see us being relegated, however I don't think we'll get into the play-offs either. Our poor start to the season has damaged our prospects beyond repair (IMO).
-
My thinking on this is clouded by the game at leyton - Connolly came on late (with Antonio) and the two of them with their high energy movements pulled their tired defense around creating space for Rickie. On Sunday this didn't happen as Connolly tired during the game - for impact we brought on Papa, who by himself couldn't chance the game. Let's go back to the impact substitution role for Connolly !
-
This reflects my thinking - our back line has no pace - with 5 across midfield it is more difficult for the opposition to play through our back line at speed. I understand that we have won games playing 4-4-2, but Saturday showed me that we do need to protect the back four to allow them to succeed - so string 5 men across midfield!
-
There was no plan B from Saints, all Brighton had to do in the 2nd H was defend well and hit us on the counter-attack, they did that perfectly.....
-
Yes, but yesterday Brighton were not an inferior team!
-
I lost count of the number of corners we had yesterday, we had plenty but as I write this I struggle to think of a clear goal chance being created.............. (I'm sure there was one but for the rest of the time Brighton had it pretty easy).
-
I don't think he can be totally blamed for the 3rd goal - the ball came back from their man on their left wing across the penalty area to the "D" where their midfielder ran forward to belt it in. There were 3 or 4 Saints players caught ball watching. Somebody should have been there - dare I say we missed Wotton today, in front of the back 4...............
