  1. Mark Blake scored, but his first goal was away at Norwich the previous season.
  2. Isn't he on the treatment table? Or am I thinking of the best striker at the club?
  3. Shilton and Keegan never played together in the same Saints team. Will you give the shirt back tonight?
  4. League game at home to Forest. 2-2 draw. I thought the run was towards the Milton, But then again it was an evening match and I had been at cricket all day and was probably off my face. Despite being a complete tool for the rest of his career, Steve Baker actually had a good debut. Last game of the 80-81 season, away midweek at Ipswich. We had to win to stand a chance of getting into Europe and were 3 up in 20 mins. By h-t it was 3-2 and they pis sed all over us for the rest of the game, but Baker cleared at least 3 off the line and we all thought he was one for the future. Unfortunately, it was the Skates future.
  5. I thought we did this last week on a different thread. Here's one from one of havant and Waterlooville's "cup heroes".
  6. Why Rideout and Wallace? Both gave great service and in Rideout's case, was frozen out by the evil Branfoot. Wallace was sold because we were broke.
  7. When we lost 6-1 at Highbury?
  8. Blackpool 12/11/77. It was also on Match of the Day back in the days they only showed 2 games and Div 2 games were rarely on.
  9. With a pole?
  10. A great game to remember, Andy. But Gilly signed 2 years earlier and made his debut at Liverpool.
  11. No it was 2-1 on the Monday after we had lost 4-1 at home to Palarse on the opening day. Alan Bennett kept his place and had another mare. We did play them in 96-97 in a 2-legged tie in the 2nd round. 2-0 at home followed by a 4-1 away win.
  12. David Prutton. I wouldn't waste my car's brake pedal to save that talentless waving tw at.
  13. Remember that it was Storrie-Teller that was pushing the "Al-Mirage" bid as it would take them "to a new level." He was, allegedly, pis sed off that Gayboy had sold to the Fake Doc. We were asking on here 12 months ago why convicted Israelis were representing "Billionaire Arabs." A question that the Street of Shame convieniently overlooked, along with all the connections between Chanrai and the Gun-runner.
  14. Not in November.
  15. Not after Harry and Storrie-Teller take their cut.
  16. 2-2. Jan 03. My favourite Ron goal. A diving header from a Sydenham cross which I'm sure was a shot. Some others. Jenkins v West Ham (a) Aug 70. Started on the edge of our box and went past 6 or 7 tackles, inc. Moore twice. Channon v Coventry (h). Sep 72. Solo run from his own half. O'Neill v Derby (a) Sep 73. 2 actually. Both screamers, but the 2nd from way out. Graham Baker v Everton (h) Feb 79. Volley on a "dangerous" pitch. (Gordon Lee what a tw at):x Moran v Leeds (h) Nov 81. Not his usual. A long crossfield run and shot from outside the area.
  17. What issue? That he's not the best striker at the club, but is too often in the treatment room?
  18. Storey Homes Stand Section 3. Its the east side of the ground. The first you come to coming off the M6and going along Warwick Rd towards city centre. There is a Ticket Office half way along that stand. HTH.
  19. Was it Joseph Mills?
  20. They were also responsible for "Whooooooo!" Which drew the wrath of someone on here recently.
  21. I dunno. Kings Cross is pretty ropey.
  22. What are you insinuating? We are staying in Newcastle for the weekend. BTW.
  23. We did. Lost to Hamburg in the 1st round. Heysel was in 1985.
  24. He was probably our best (ball) striker, but was too often in the treatment room.
