  2. No doubt if we doing the same as West Ham you would be saying how great we were. We did exactly what West Ham are presently doing to get out of League 1 which we achieved . By the way West Ham have had loads of injuries this season
  3. Spurs have been singing for over 50 years especially in Europe There is even a book relating to it And the Spurs Go Marching on: Official Centenary History of Tottenham Hotspur Football Club (ISBN 10: 0600346641 / ISBN 13: 9780600346647 ) Phil Soar
  4. Being relegated to League 1 with a team which had a few acadamey players and not playing many in League 1 when we were there suggests to me that we are not very likely to have many capable of playing in the PL
  5. If we dont go up it will be because we were not good enough and will be down to the management not bringing in top class players.
  6. I think he is winding you up as no sensible person would really think SFC would have a large number of academy graduates playing champions league football in a 50,000 seater stadium somewhere in Southampton

  8. Well we bid £2m for him last week
  9. It was £2m last week
  10. Only time will tell as I cannot see how we are not going to get promoted
  11. Yes you are pathetic Most people go to football matches to watch the game not abuse other watchers
  12. I think we may be bidding for Lukas
  13. Totally agree with you I only watch half a dozen games a year these days but 50 years ago I watched at least 25 a year home and away. Always phone my brother to ge scores when I am away or follow matches on the Internet all my friends and even people I hardly know realise I am a non plastic committed Saints fan who has a ticket for the Hull game
  14. And me too
  15. No way The early 80s were the best and the 1976 cup winning team were better than todays team I would have thought
  16. I dont think you have grasped the concept of planning If we want to get to the PL and stay there we will need better players than we have now so it is better to get them so that we can get them playing and getting use to each other. You are right we need some more CBs so lets get one in now
  17. Dont think Jos is going to be good enough for the PL so I think we should get in somebody better like we got in Fox to replace Harding
  18. I think we have done well this season because we have added just a few players from our successful team of last season which has helped us to our league position. Just look at what has happened at Leicester where a large number of players were brought in Yes I would like a couple of PL standard players added to the squad say a CB and striker so that they can gel with the current team and then add just a few more if we get to the PL. Whether Davis is a PL goalkeeper is open to question but he is very good in the Championship. However I see no reason why the current squad cannot get us to the PL the way they are playing and the way other teaams are not playing but I am just thinking of next season
  19. Because at £12m it was cheap and there was no mortgage on the stadium
  20. It does help that the club was bought cheap and going into Administration proved very useful I doubt we would be in the position we are in today if we had not
  21. Me too he played OK last night against Peterborough but nowhere as good as Fonte
  22. We are five points clear a home win two excellent goals West Ham drew but for some reason felt a little dissappointed as there seemed little urgency in the team and no player seemed to play very well.
  23. Yes he did right in front of me at the Milton Road End and 2 2 after 12 mins
  24. Wimshurst was a really good attacking player was MOM in the famous 5 0 thrashing of Nottm Forest in the FA Cup 1963 but his form fell away and went to Bristol City Tony Knapp was our captain when we got promoted in 1966 came from Leicester City and went to Coventry a few months after this photo to be relaced by Big John McGrath was manager of Iceland Knapp I think was pictured in a large advert at the Archers Road End advertising Coca Cola
  25. Not such a good result as in 1962 when we beat them 6 0 but with all goals coming in the second half but better than I expected Think automatic promotion is between our selves West Ham and Birmingham. I will be interested if we buy a top class CB and striker in the window to show we really want promotion
