  1. I agree with most of your posts including this one I have reckoned for some time that we will get about 85 points So we might get less points than last season and get promoted
  2. I dont think your second match meets the OP's criteria because the atmosphere was pretty dire for most of the game but it was without doubt the most exciting game I ever saw at the Dell and the only time I ever watched a game under the East Stand
  3. 40000 Saints Fans at White Hart Lane 1963 v Nottm Forest second replay thrashed them 5 0 Bloody Marvellous
  4. At the time with the Club facing Administration the best scenario for the Club was probably SISU as suggested by Hone. However Wilde Crouch and Lowe thought the best situation for themselves was to keep their influence at SFC If the fans at the time knew how bad the financial situation was at SFC they may have backed the SISU Not only did Lowe Crouch Wilde etc lose their money but also did a large number of Ordinary Saints Fans. Who knows what would have happened if SISU had taken us over I dont think we would have been relegated and perhaps we may even have been promoted by nowas we had a reasonable but demotivated squad just lacking a couple of reasonable CBs. We still do not know what investment will be forthcoming from the current owners so overall we may have been better off with SISU in the long run but on the hand we may not have been only time will tell. SISU may not have been such a bad offer as many thought at the time
  5. I agree not even £10 m I would have thought
  6. I dobbt very much if Cortese would sack Adkins if we do not get promoted . Adkins has got the team playing well and if we do not get promoted from here it will be down to reasons which he can not affect Loss of Form by Players Bad errors by Players Poor decision by match officials Opposition teams having luck and playing exceptionally well Injuries and Suspensions Whether he is the manager to take SFC to the PL is of course open to debate but he does have a contract so perhaps Cortese thinks so and he is the one who makes the decisions. Although I think we will be promoted if we dont the main reason will be the poor start to the season which must be attributed to the Pardew/Cortese situation wich Cortse handled badly As I said this time last season if he wanted to sack Pardew because he could not work with him he that was a perfect valid decision. But to go on to pontificate in the press that he never had any thoughts of doing so then to sack him in August which seriously jeopardised team spirit was wrong. Sacking Pardew was not the wrong decision but sacking him in August was - We should thank Adkins for getting us a winning team and perhaps if him or someone else had been appointed last summer we would like Brighton be already guaranteed promotioni
  7. Did SFC not get more spectators when they moved to St Mary's from the Dell
  8. Yes I was there hoping for a win to make us Champions all I saw was a very boring draw should have played cricket instead as it was the first game of the season Strange to think that I did not have to buy a ticket before the game just turned up and watched it under the West Stand
  9. I must admit I am still slightly upset that we did not go up as Champions in 1978 as we played a boring draw with Spurs
  10. GK CB STRIKER PROBABLY CM Plus replacements for players who leave
  11. I have been expecting Saints to be promoted since February purely based on results of ourselves and other teams I will be very surprised if we dont get at least 84 points
  12. I suggest that you put some money on Peterboro at 7 4 to be promoted seems a reasonable bet because if they finish out of the top two there are always the play offs
  13. what a ridiculous post, do you seriously think an international manager would call up a player just so a club he has no connection with in the third tier of another countries football pyramid can get a game postponed?
  14. I think Lowe understood football pretty well and got on with most managers Unfortunately he wanted to give young managers and young footballers a chance which did not work out
  15. Yep 6 wins 2 draws and a couple of losses should be OK
  16. Yes totally agree lets go to the lottery of the play offs with a team deflated after all the hype of automatic promotion Very Good idea
  17. Me too Still think we should have beaten Spurs in 1978 at the Dell to become champions allowing Brighton to get promoted but we just played for a draw and allowed Spurs to go up instead Even if we had lost 5 0 we would have been promoted
  18. Lets face it you dont seem to have any idea of what happens in a Promotion run in
  19. Although I hope we win tomorrow a draw would be a good result like Peterborough we will not win all our remaining games

    Brian Howard

Lets face it Hammond is a Journeyman CM Scheiderlein is a young midfielder highly thought of by the French National team
  21. 5 Points would not be a complete disaster but I am expecting 6 or 7
  22. Yes we will spend money from the Sale of OXO either in the Championsip or League 1 Although he is a good player OXO is not winning enough games for us at the moment and perhaps he should have been sold in January and the club should have invested in two or thee players in order to get promotion.

I think by crap the poster may mean Nothing out of the Ordinary which is how I see the Players
  24. Well in 1966 due to injuries a very young Mick Channon played against Bristol City and scored a goal to help us get promotion In forty years time perhaps you can bore this board with posts telling how some Academy player helped SFC to Promotion in 2011
  25. Surely it is future form that is important not current form based on a few games Charlton on Current form a few weeks ago looked really good but now they are nowhere Bournemouth have slipped recently Still every chance of Automatic Promotion
