Yes I do think you probably need a little help as Portsmouth appear to be a club which is trying to get more customers with Senior tickets for the over 60s no surcharge for tickets on the day. Good luck to them I say if they are looking after their fans
-
It is a newspaper article not a ****ing book
-
Here is another which seems reasonable http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/jul/31/championship-predictions-new-season
-
I think Guly will start not sure about Hammond
-
But you could watch the Cricket Test matches which I cannot do now
-
Sydenham was very good as you say very left footed very quick and a good crosser did not score that many goals. Used to serve him petrol for his Austin A40 in the filling station on West End Road in Bitterne really nice chap too as you would expect from a fellow ex St Mary's College pupil
-
Are you sure I went to that game but I dont remember being outnumbered of course I maybe wrong I did go with a Man U fan as I did with the same one two years later at Wembley for the Cup final. Seeing him after the game I knew what sick as a Parrott meant
-
Exactly I was hoping that we would get in an experienced midfielder of centre back who could be the leader on the field something we do seem to lack
-
I hope he remembers the day might be a little young though and follows the Saints like I have all over the country I took my Dad to his First Saints Match in 1962 it was against Sunderland Cloughie was playing and it was a goaless draw My brother was born forty minutes after the Leeds Game in 1950 and he cannot remember a thing about it!!!

"Adkins is the best manager we have had since Strachan"
John B replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
He has only managed us in League 1 at the moment but he is doing an OK job but lets wait and see what happens -
So do really think Cortese decided to get involved with SFC to save it for the fans. More likely he thought it was a good investment where he could earn an extremely good salary and bonuses whilst having a bit of fun ****ing Dune off with a ticket tax
-
The problem I dont think you have grasped is that Cortese can do whatever he likes at the club and as long as the team is relatively successful he will not have any real problems I am not bashing him just posting some thoughts. Of course he needs to be kept in check otherwise more fans will become disenchanted as are the 60-64s and those having to pay parking fees to renew season ticket holders. Cortese earns in a year what it probably takes a significant number fans over twenty years to earn based on the current average weekly wage of less than £500 So he cannot really expect to continually raise money from the average fan especially during the austerity regime of the Tory Led Coalition. We need to think that the club is being run for the fans and the City and Region of Southampton and not to line Cortese's Pocket but as most people want guaranteed success this appears to be the only way possible. NC and ML are well respected because they are percieved as having saved the club after the desperate days of 2009 but a club like Southampton was always likely to survive and prosper after administration no matter who were the owners were because of the loyal fans and the infrastructure of the club.

All Saints Supporters who did not go to the game that includes me please go to the naughty corner where Mr Gemmell will tell you off. To the football yesterday we have a thread about Bart or Kelvin but I find it quite interesting to see who will be in CM Probably Hammond and Cork??
-
Thats what I said so I thought The other people you mentioned were running the club in a higher division than Cortese has done so far with less financial muscle and did have Burley for the manager as well which did not help
-
It is quite normal to for people to complain if they think their club is not be running well or there are other problems and I remember lots of complaints with regard to past managers and chairman. Highlighting the Chairman's salary is not a dig it just shows how much he is getting As I said above lots of money is going to Executives Managers Players and agents whilst ticket prices are going up that is just an observation. With regard to wages I was wondering if the lowly paid employees at St Mary's were on the minimum wage or whether they are paid better but that is what happens elsewhere but it would be nice if they were able to take advantage of the financial success of the club
-
I think the article highlights the fact that in football there are now loads of businessmen earning a lot of money plus players and agents whilst us fans are having to pay more. We have had Delieu Hone and Lowe being attacked for taking loads of money out of the company in wages and bonuses but now it seems acceptable that Cortese is doing the same. £600000 seems a lot of money but that appears to be the going rate and as we have been successful recently it is not a problem but it could be if things go wrong. Back to the football though the two signings of Cork and De Ridder are really good news and shows that the club is moving forward well. The only thing we maybe lacking is a strong leader on the field to lead what is a relatively young and inexperienced midfield but I doubt that there are many better squads in the Championship
-
Ron Davies and Bobby Stokes went to Pompey in the 1970s During that time I dont think I ever heard the word Skate used
-
Lets face it it is pretty poor management when you fine a young player who wants to better himself That will really motivate him and possibly the team
-
Dont think he is worth £10m up front which I think is possibly the problem
-
Well he failed miserably with Puncheon but lets home he does better with Alex if he is still with us this season
-
Yes totally agree the team did well when he was out injured anyway
-
Should we not take any notice of what Alex wants?
-
As Phil says we dont know the people who actually own the club and whether they are fit and proper persons. I am certain that their is no problem with our ownership but other clubs which maybe bought in a similar manner may not be. Not sure how much of the programme was taken up with SFC but we are not mentioned in this http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2016249/Bryan-Robson-Manchester-United-TV-sting.html or this http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/ferguson-dismisses-club-takeover-tv-claims-2316052.html
-
Did the programme say anything which was factually incorrect or were they making a point how foreigners are buying into English Clubs
