  1. Yes I agree with you I only meant lots of Fans from other teams do not realise we have a wealthy backer thats all
  2. The problems with coalitions is that the electorate do not actually know what policies will be adopted after the election because some of each of the partners will be adopted. Labour have suggested some kind of PR ie AV to be decided by a Referendum. The Tories dont like the thought of PR because Lab/Lib seems to be a more likely partnership than Con/Lib - lots of Liberal supporters came from the SDP the breakaway section of the Labour Party

    The Euro

Yes I think they cheated apparently
  4. John B

    The Euro

I dont think that is particularly true Darling has said that cuts are going to be very deep The problem is that the election has possibly come at the wrong time if it had been in October growth and unemployment would be known and the actual scale of cuts could then be worked out. Personally I like the idea of Tax increases as well as spending cuts but we will have to see what happens but the problems in the Eurozone are not helping Greece probably entered the Euro without meeting the criteria
  5. By the way it is the Six Nations thses days never been to a Six Nations match but there were 60000 at Twickenham on Sauturday and I did not see any trouble. Although I was a bit upset watching Sky before kick off with Huddersfield scoring six
  6. And has given Ottery St Mary a new hero after Lowes departure and the forum lots of pointless threads and posts;)
  7. Taylor began his football career at ASC Nienburg of Nienburg, Lower Saxony in Germany before moving to England as a schoolboy. He later became a soldier in the Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers based at Arborfield in Berkshire, where he attended Princess Marina College He later moved to Bordon in Hampshire where he played football for his regiment and the Army & Combined Services representative sides During this period he also played for Petersfield Town, Basingstoke Town and Farnborough Town with whom he won the Southern League Premier Division Championship in 1993–94 In June 1995, he joined Barnet of the Football League Third Division for a fee of £700 Eighteen months later he was signed by Southampton of the Premier League for a fee of £500,000 Just as Nick indicated
  8. I think you would be surprised if you went to a Rugby Match how different the environment is. There is no sign of the old bill you can take drinks to your seats and home and away supporters mix freely. Mind you some Gloucester and Leicester supporters have bad reputations
  9. Probably only two teams will be relegated from CCC if they go bust
  10. You seem to live Cloud Cuckoo Land not West End but your look at life through rose tinted spectacles always amuses me
  11. When I first started watching football in the 1960s there was no segregation at all even in Div 1
  12. No he is horribly left footed which is fine for a LB but not a RB I would have thought
  13. We are no where near as rich as most of the clubs in the top eight Markus maybe rich but the club certainly is not With a small stadium and no world wide brand it is going to take 100s of Millions of pounds to compete with some of thses teams as Pompey found out
  14. Yes I know what you mean - I have spoken to a couple of football fans from other clubs recently and neither knew anything about Markus
  15. I have enjoyed this season as well seeing teams that I could only dream about:D Not sure I want return to the Premiership and struggle again to get into the top ten as I cannot really see us competing with the large City Clubs currently in the top eight 1 Chelsea 36 61 80 2 Man Utd 36 53 79 3 Arsenal 36 39 72 4 Tottenham 35 26 64 5 Aston Villa 36 16 64 6 Man City 35 27 63 7 Liverpool 36 28 62 8 Everton 36 10 57 9 Birmingham 36 -9 47 10 Sunderland 36 -6 44 11 Blackburn 36 -16 44 12 Fulham 35 -3 43 13 Stoke 35 -11 43 14 Bolton 36 -25 36 15 Wolves 36 -23 35 16 Wigan 36 -34 35 17 West Ham 36 -18 34 18 Hull 36 -41 28 19 Burnley 36 -41 27 20 Portsmouth 36 -33 16
  16. I agree some of the people who got us into administration lost money others like Hone and Delieau probably made money but it is the fans who have to suffer in the end which is totally unfair but what else can the League do. At least clubs like ourselves and Luton who have entered administration seem to be on the up but others like Crystal Palace Stockport and some Premier League club on the South Coast do not
  17. Yes we seem to agree and I fully expect that SFC will get promoted
  18. The last game I saw was against Hartlepool and I was sitting to the left of the goal at the Chapel End with Seabourne defending in front of me . I thought he played reasonably well and his ditrbution was OK but both of the Hartlepool goals did come from down the right. I shall be at the Southend game and now will look out to see how both Seabourne and Fonte perform now there is a discussion about both defenders
  19. I agree with you because apart from the time at Southampton Harry has been a relatively successful manager but I suppose this success was down to buying expensive players. Although Wigley had poor results a lot could have been down to injuries when he was in charge but there were two or three games where we were winning but lost in the dying seconds against Middleboro Everton and maybe Leeds where Harry did little to make certain that we kept the lead. Perhaps the defenders were getting too old and could not last for the full 90 mins. I dont really care now as we would have had to continually try to avoid relegation with little money if we were still in the Premier League. Now we can look forward to the future and I expect next season to be pretty successful
  20. Rickie Lambert possibly Saints best signing of the Millenium - Svennson and Niemi were very good but Rickie has been outstanding
  21. Yes but some will already be in the CCC with Promoted teams next season If Charlton Leeds and Norwich were to go up the only one left would be Harte and as many have said Harding will be better next season
  22. Yes that is what I thought too and of course Fonte was not here for much of the season
  23. So you have had a better season this than last when both Mons and Saints were relegated
  24. Yes I agree that we will be one of the favourites but that of course does not guarantee that we will be promoted.
  25. We are seventh in Europe with regard to Local Derbies http://footballderbies.com/
