Well it is not surprising as we dont seem to be able to pass to our own players but the pitch looks poor

We really had some great players over the years

He chose this game because of the sheer talent on the pitch, he was humbled almost to be on the same stage as these greats.. He scored the winner in that one I think. He never did get a look in when Ray Wilson played against him I still think he was the best all round footballer to play for Southampton in the last fifty years. He could score goals make goals and play on the wing or in central midfield

He is probably the best player to play up front in the formation employed by Capello he is strong in the air puts himself about is quick and tracks back. But he is of course not the best out and out striker

Jimmy Greaves had been injured in the tournament and Hunt took his place and played well so Alf did not want to change a winning team. But Alf did use his best players letting Alan Ball into the team and leaving out any wingers.

Because he maybe loaned out to a Championship Club after Christmas?
