It was the Premiership surely which stopped clubs like us prospering . The PLC was set up because we were floundering and proved relatively successful although a lack of money to buy more talented players led to our eventual downfall

I think the point being made is more theoretical than practical. As you say there is absolutely no evidence that Markus will not be a good owner. However we dont really know him and it is possible that the club will not be run the way we want. I am not certain how the club will be run and how the decision to buy and sell players will be made in the past it was probably made on financial reasons only

I think Duncan does not like after 125 or so years to have one person owning the club. He has mentioned this on a number of occassions I tend to agree with him. However as there was no alternative we will have to live with it

I think Duncan was making a valid point that the club is owned by ML and he can do whatever he wants It is his club

Perhaps he has GOAL 1-0 Saints take the lead as Adam Lallana picks up the ball from 25 yards out and unleashes a low shot which arrows into the bottom left corner for the first Saints goal of the Alan Pardew era.
