  1. They love him because he waves his arms around to gee up the crowd & everyone mistakes that for giving a sh1t. He has spent most of the last two seasons trying to leave, but can't get a decent offer elsewhere because the rest of Planet Football know the truth about him
  2. Why the Roops comment? Otherwise I mifght have agreed with you, but now, Leon, I won't.
  3. Apart from the obvious facts that three of the above are loans & two have left already I bet their combined wage is still some way short of Saganowski's. And what I meant that there are many better, cheaper strikers available
  4. I'd heard he was one of the bidders
  5. In my experience people in Amesbury know very little about anything that is going on in the outside world
  6. Probably says it all, but I forgot about him....
  7. Hard working, maybe, but ineffective & one of the highest earners. We could do so much better with our money.
  8. I'll have bet with you, if you like. I never said Smith is a great player, just that he is worth another look. I'm not that bothered if he stays or goes, but he is cheap & might prove worth having. Saga is simply living off past glories, I'm afraid
  9. Perhaps you should read it all before you slag me off re Smith I said - stay, just (There is something there & we haven't seen enough yet) And yes, I do think he has more to offer than BWP - he has had 3 years to establish himself here and yet he is still only on the bench and has the odd good half game. No progress and one of our highest earners = time to go. Smith may never make it, but he deserves another season to see, that is all. McG will get twenty goals - I'd even put a bet on it. As for Saga - 10 games since his last goal & doesn't look like he'll ever score again for us. If you really think Saga and BWP are the answer after the last two seasons you are way beyond clueless, pal
  10. Bialkowski will go - a Burley signing so probably on big wages + he's out on loan already
  11. In the hope that we will no longer be in administration
  12. As we seem as good as down, I thought it was time to see who you'd like to still be here come August & who you'd like to see gone My own view is Mark Fry - nice chap I'm sure, but hopefully long gone Anyone who ever had anything to do with the running of this club - go Wotte - I quite like him, but he has to go As do all his backroom lads Davis - can't afford him, anyway, so - go James - stay, definitely Skacel - long been part of the problem - go Perry - staying anyway, but might just do a job in League One Saeijs - going anyway, presumably Surman - if we can raise any money on him - sadly go Gillett - stay, definitely Schneiderlin - totally indifferent, but go, just Wotton - I'll drive you to the station Smith - stay, just (There is something there & we haven't seen enough yet) Lallana - give him another season Holmes - stay, but I'm starting to worry about his injury record McGoldrick - I hope we can keep him - 20 goals from midfield next season Euell - definitely well past his sell by date - go, go, go Saganowski - likewise BWP - perhaps we could offer him as a prize in a raffle - that's the only way we could get any money for him. Otherwise Macclesfield awaits him Thomas - League One is probably a level where he'd do okay, but at £10k a week....? Dyer - cash in while we can John - gone Rasiak - only one more year of his ludicrous salary to get someone else to pay (I hope) Gasmi & Liptak will go anyway, presumably.... All the other youngsters - stay
  13. Grayson went down a division to go to Leeds. He would be well up my list of candidates - our budget will be about equal to theirs - but a bit more long-term potential
  14. Funniest thing you have ever written. I also think that Molyneux was part of a plan, a bit like Hoddle's, to take on lads who almost but not quite made it, presumably quite cheaply & try & let them seize their last chance. Holmes, Smith & Pulis would all fit that category & the first two may yet prove him right, as may Molyneux
  15. Pearson got lucky on the last day, otherwise he would have been the most reviled manager in our history. Personally I like the guy, was quite pleased he got given a chance here & was sorry to see him go. BUT his record here was not great, we had some truly shocking performances under him & he got away with it by the skin of his teeth. So, promising young manager who I hope succeeds - yes. Greatest manager we ever had - no. As the stats show, there is not much difference between him & Wotte, but I think Wotte will be the unfortunate one to take us down
  16. The one consolation is that if results go against us tomorrow & Monday the mercy killing will be complete. No more worries, no more false and pathetic hope & we can start on the road to acceptance.
  17. They do care, but they just aren't good enough. They weren't last season & they still aren't
  18. That's the most interesting thing on here for weeks. I never realised their were two spellings & two definitions
  19. The thing with Lowe is that he is borderline mad/brilliant.
  20. Or maybe, Is that a light I see at the end of the tunnel? Or....oh b*gger it's the 12.52 from Waterloo
  21. I said at the start of the season that it would be a roller-coaster ride & it hasn't disappointed. All we need now is to stop going down that great big slopey thing and for someone to work out where the brakes are
  22. No they can't - they are both most definitely part of the problem, not part of the solution. You have to stop thinking my enemy's enemies are my friends. Those days have gone
  23. How long can things keep going down the road? I thought relegation might well & truly tuck them up, but they look like they will survive for now. But, according to the BBC they are still in debt to the tune of £80million. If we survive this there still might be some fun to be had.......
  24. I always felt that if we could survive this season then next would be brighter. McGoldrick, along with Gillett & James in particular have definitely blossomed this season, & Lallana will come good again. Add in a bunch of youngsters like Paterson, Gobern, Mills, White & Thompson who all seem to have bit of something about them & two or three old heads & there is the basis of a half-decent squad, if we can keep them together. It was always too much, too soon for some of them this year (& too many of them at once), but McG, Gillett & James have really benefitted from being first-team regulars.
