  1. Funny feeling today - not as sad as I should be - maybe because the inevitable has been just that for so long. Last game of last season I felt anger at the ineptitude of the players and a stomach churning fear that we really would go down. Now I feel a sort of calm acceptance with just a glimmer of hope that this is the darkest day
  2. Then you are in liquidation & cease trading. The bank appoints administrators so must let them have access to some funds - how else does it work?
  3. The trouble is legality is not the issue - the League is a private members' club & they can do as they wish. 'Sorry Mr Lowe, but Red & White stripes is not smart casual - you're out'
  4. Please don't - Crouch is an idiot - see the other posts. Or maybe it was yet another sly dig at Lowe and Wilde that everyone is falling for. Either way, it is not true
  5. Bank accounts aren't frozen when the administrators come in - just that they and not the board sign the cheques. It's administration, not liquidation
  6. People always seem to fall for the cheap emotional tug, don't they? I bet the same people who believe that Skacel gives a sh1t about us because he waves his arms about and think that Leon is anything other than an embarrassment AND a major part of the demise of our club also think Diana was the greatest living Englishwoman, closely followed by Jade Goody. He is a well-meaning buffoon who should slip off into the football wilderness with Lowe & Wilde & all the rest. Being a good fan is no qualification for anything. He had his chance, he blew it - now in the name of all things Saintly - go away (And before anyones asks - I've never rated him)
  7. Dream on. I actually think the best hope of not getting knocked the ten points is that we get relegated anyway, then we could argue that new owners are being unfairly penalised for a questionable offence & they might go for a quiet life. They WON'T let us stay up, come what may As for how I currently feel - empty & numb, but tomorrow might be emotional
  8. Because amazingly HMRC are not amongst the major creditors (as far as we know) & they are the ones that always refuse
  9. I'm with you. I think the other point is McGoldrick is a youngster playing his first full season, Saga is a 30 year old international. Which one is going to get better?
  10. I was amazed, too - that was why I put it up for comment
  11. Is he related to R2 D2
  12. There was something obstructing the road on the way to work this morning. It said 'Roadworks ahead' - I took this as a sign
  13. I have to. I've had a long struggle with reality & I may be losing it, but I remained unbeaten. I shall be back next season ready to resume my battle - prepared for another year of misery, false optimism & pain, willingly traded for those fleeting moments of hope & joy
  14. Him, I agree, or O'Driscoll - two on the up
  15. From the BBC Saints consider Swans Dyer offer Nathan Dyer described Swansea as the "Arsenal of the Championship" Cash-strapped Southampton are considering a bid from Swansea City to make Nathan Dyer's loan deal permanent. The 21-year-old winger has been on loan at the Liberty Stadium since January, scoring four times in 20 appearances as the Swans push for a play-off place. Dyer spent three months on loan at Sheffield United earlier in the season where he started just three times. A spokesman for Southampton said: "Swansea have made a bid and a bid is still under consideration." The Swans were linked with a permanent move for Dyer at the end of the January transfer window, with Southampton reportedly holding out for £750,000. Swansea chairman Huw Jenkins said at the time that the club would not be "pushed into a corner" over a fee. Since then, the Saints holding company Southampton Leisure Holding has been put into administration with debts of £27.5m. 606: DEBATE How much do you think Nathan Dyer is worth? That could mean the Swans getting him for a cheaper fee with Southampton now reported to be looking for £500,000. Dyer is one of the Saints prize assets after coming through the trainee ranks at St Mary's and was awarded a new three year contract last summer. But after making one start, he was loaned out to United, who later had a £1.2m bid turned down. Swansea moved to bring the youngster in on loan when the January transfer window opened. When he arrived, Dyer said: "Swansea are the Arsenal of the Championship and their style was the main attraction for me." Oh dear, Rupert, this seems like some very silly business if true
  16. Simple now - we have to win both games & hope. Or just be realistic. Best news is Brighton might yet survive (& hopefully Yeovil despite tonight) for a good awayday next season
  17. Crouch is an egotistical populist playing to the crowds to keep his name in the paper. I wish people would just tell him to go away. He is and always will be part of the problem, not part of the solution & if it wasn't for your persistant 'My enemy's enemy is my friend' mentality you would have worked it out for yourself. He is part of our tainted recent past, just like Lowe is, and like Lowe he should fade quietly away.
  18. I think your lifestyle is catching up with you
  19. For all any of you know it was a small amount up front with add ons over two/three years - that is quite common practise & sadly not much use to us in the current situation

    Wotton

He's reminds me a bit of Paul Telfer - a good utility player, a good pro, never going to be the greatest, but handy to have around, as he showed on Monday.
  21. We're down then - I think Wolves was our BEST result on Sky this season
  22. The club ceasing to exist would be an absolute bonus for this site - the sniping, name-calling and blaming would go on for decades until the exact apportioning of responsibility for the club's demise is finally settled upon. We could pass our memberships on to our children if needs be to keep the arguments going on through the millenia....
  23. I've rated him for a long time despite some on here being really malicious about him (one or two even saying they would have preferred Jermaine Wright (!!!) He still looks better going forward than defending, but he is dogged, and he rarely wastes the ball when he has possession & can deliver a decent cross. Let's just hope we can keep him when his contract expires in the summer
  24. My ratings for today Davis - 7 - nothing to do, really, but never looked like he was going to concede James - 8 - he has developed into a good little player, he crosses well and is a neat passer Skacel - 7 - did pretty okay, but at times his use of the ball is disappointing Saeijs - 7.5 - Kuqi never looked like getting the better of him Perry - 7 - another good day at the office Lallana - 7.5 - has refound his touch & looked a threat all day Surman - 7 - also looked like he'd recaptured his belief in himself Wotton - 6.5 - if he could only pass he'd be half decent McGoldrick - 8 - seemed to be playing quite deep today, but when he runs at defenders he scares them (oh, yes, and he scores some cracking goals) Euell - 6.5 - does his best, bless him, but never looked remotely like scoring a goal BWP - 6.5 - got in some good positions, but his finishing was shocking Saganowski - 7 - works hard but another one who doesn't look like he is going to ever score again Schneiderlin - 6.5 - neat and tidy, but not much more Liptak - 7 - how can you fault a man whose job it is to come on for stoppage time if we don't concede? Wotte - 8 - When the diamond works (like today) it looks good & he was right to take off Euell & BWP - they were NEVER going to score Ref - 8 - kept the game going well, but missed a blatant elbow on Skacel (Personally I'm glad he didn't send him off because Palace would have retreated even deeper + we always seem to lose at home to 10 men, so well done ref!) Crowd - 9 - brilliant atmosphere all the way through
  25. He would get my vote - somebody is going to give him a big break in a minute, so why not us?
