Any mention of Burley and good manager in the same phrase And any post from Stanley the Mole or Alps saying I told you so

I think you'll find it's Nobby No-mates that sits and sulks alone & fans support their team together

The thing I always come back to with Thomas was that England's greatest manager (NP) preferred the Glassman to Thomas for our relegation decider two years ago. Says it all about him really

FWIW Jody Scheckter owns a farm near Basingstoke

Dion Dublin always seemed to do disproportionately better against us than anyone else. Got just about his only Man U goal against us and always seemed to score his first goal in a dozen games against us
-
Pat Jennings always seemed immense against us in goal, as did Friedel - neither looked like they'd ever be beaten. The Arsenal team of Vieira, Henry, Wiltord, Pires etc were terrifying in attack - the speed and size of those guys surging forward was awesome & you truly felt we could be overrun by them (and often we were!)

Not often have we had links to the Jewish Chronicle, but... http://www.thejc.com/articles/southampton-deal-still-insists-fialka

Why do I have this nagging fear that no-one else is going to offer him a contract and he will be back, signing on for another three years of headless-chickenry. I won't sleep easily till some ****ock like Warnock or Sturrock has helped him sign on the dotted line

Can anyone guess who is now our longest serving player? (A clue - his last appearance was nearly a year ago & he ended up on loan last season)

A season is 46 games, not one. And he had three seasons to prove himself. At best he had 6 good games & God knows how many shockers in that time. Time to call it quits, I'd say

Funny timing, nonetheless. If someone is buying us tomorrow, or even this week, you'd have thought the deal would hang on until the new owners had his say

I thought - he's showing his age, remembering a song like that. Then I remembered that I knew it too...........

It's definitely not C of E but it's somebody's. Is it the Islamic holy day? Easy mistake to make.....

Pinnacle plans conditional on promotion in first season
sidthesquid replied to modern matron's topic in The Saints
Who they are I have no idea, but Fansonline has been wildly pro Jackson, anti Pinnacle throughout. It's quite interesting to read the other side's views, but I no longer take any of it seriously -

Number 1 to 500 on my list of hatees - Harry Redflapp, past that they are all just worthy of mild dislike by comparison

What about Sapphire and Steel - we could have Joanna Lumley as chairman and field a team of Ghurkas

What I still don't understand is how Mawhinney clearly said to the world that we could appeal the deduction when first imposed on us, and now they are making it a condition of giving us permission to play in the league that we promise not to. The man is a treacherous Tory twister with the morals of a politician. Regardless of whether the deduction was legal, moral or justified, he has clearly and publicly gone back on his word.

A Gratuitous Anti Pompey Thread To Help Cope With The Stress
sidthesquid replied to 1976_Child's topic in The Saints
Somehow, in some strange and almost spiritual way, the world just seems a better place for having read this thread. Thank you, guys.
