Don't understand the question, sorry
-
I'm not saying it is all the fans' fault by any means, just that the negativity, recrimination and bitterness around the club will stop us ever moving forward. I am not a fan of Lowe's either, and if a White Knight rode in to sort out the pile of sh1t we've become I would welcome him with open arms. But at the moment there isn't one & not likely to be one, either (except on the fantasy investor threads that pop up weekly) so we have to make the best of what we've got, which may not be a lot, but I still think the alternative could be worse. Everyone just assumes someone will take us on, but what happens if they don't? And as our sk8tey friends down the road are discovering, being some rich foreigners plaything is fine for a while, but when he gets bored life gets very nasty. I fully accept that the board, managers & players take the bulk of the blame, but we are not blameless. It is not a coincidence that our team performs okay away & like startled rabbits in the headlights at home. And if I was non-supporter with money to put into the club, half an hour on this site would cure of that daft idea. Bitterness, recrimination and negativity breed more of the same. That is why we will go down this season and some of that is down to us, I'm afraid

They want us to be supporters not customers - all businesses do (ie Tesco loyalty cards) but all football clubs hope for even more loyalty & most, though not us, get it
-
You miss the point - money was made available to Strachan, but it doesn't guarantee better players
-
I guess you are one of those people who considers himself a customer of SFC not a supporter (There is a difference)
-
That was five years ago ffs, and we did spend money on players - McCann & Phillips to name two. That is all history - deal with the situation we are in now
-
A silly analogy - football clubs need money as food, not drugs, Your child needs food to survive so you would willingly starve it Even if you say that Lowe is a disease in the system, starving it out kills the patient, too, - medicine has moved on from purging & blood-letting

Did BWP & McGoldrick attack a Saints fan?
sidthesquid replied to StuRomseySaint's topic in The Saints
Can't be true - McGoldrick would have tried to punch him & missed, BWP would have 10yards ahead of him complaining to a lamp-post that he wasn't offside -
The Forest game did it for me. It's not lack of effort from our lads - they just aren't collectively good enough. That young Forest team (younger than ours) outplayed us. We are not getting bullied out of games, we are either getting played out of them or shooting ourselves in the foot. It's likely Pompey - play one poorly & get turned over, play well and get beaten by 'bad luck' - classic relegation form I'll keep going, though, & I'll go next season. You have to keep the faith.........(Don't you?)

I'll tell you exactly where the fans are at fault - a miserable thirteen thousand of us turned up on Tuesday night. All these self-righteous 'I'll never set foot in SMS until Lowe goes' fans are killing the club. Fans = money, & money = keeping & buying better players (and managers). It is so simple really
-
Off. I can devote my day to hoping Pompey get turned over by the Scallies
-
Because he was all that was available in our budget price-range with the specific quality of being a centre half
-
Wotte said on te radio on Tuesday that we had signed him as cover because we only have Saeijs, Perry & Lancashire at CB. He hardly bigged him up and I guess he was about as far as our budget stretched, so give the poor lad a chance before we all turn against him

As was said above, it's not just about lack of money, it's how it is and was distributed across our squad. If what we've read is true - Euell, Thomas, Skacel, John, Rasiak, Saganowski, BWP, Davies, Dyer collectively would take about £4million a year to pay for which is why we HAD to offload some of those, and I bet we are still paying half of Rasiak & John's wages because it is better than paying all of them. Consequently we HAD to play kids (even Crouch admitted that), we had to take a cheap manager & we HAD to try & freeze out some of the other high earners to try & get them off the books. The whole atmosphere must be depressing for the players - I've worked in companies in the muddle Saints are in and lack of motivation and pessimism are endemic. I agree that so-called smaller clubs are doing better than us, but they on that under-dog rush that we used to have in the Prem at the Dell. I bet the mood is not that different at Charlton or Sheff Wed. And if Poopey go down (please God) the sh1t they will be in next year is going to make ours look like nothing. I cannot be arsed to apportion blame but our reality is driven by a lack of cash whether you like it or not.

WE HAVE NO MONEY This is why we are going down. It really is as simple & boring as that
-
Actually I think the thread should have been re-titled 'Did Kelvin have an off-day?' or something like that which might have been fairer
-
Not arguing about that - just saying what I saw
-
Just watched the highlights on Virgin - I'm less certain the first goal was his fault, but the second one he clearly withdraws his arm as though he thinks it is going wide. Poor I'm afraid at a moment like that

A few to choose from since the war 1969/70 fewest home wins - W3 D12 L6 1952/53 2nd fewest home wins & = 2nd most defeats - W5 D7 L9 1993/94 - most defeats - W9 D2 L10 1991/92 -= 2nd most defeats - W7 D5 L9 & 2008/09 - set to break all records W1 D7 L8......

My son is in this category. He's fifteen now and has only had a season ticket since we went down. (I go back to 1970 and saw the glory days). He'd like to be a Liverpool fan, really, but his Victorian father makes him suffer and suffer and suffer some more. I tell him it's character building and he'll thank me when he's older, but I don't think he's convinced
-
He might be small, but 'a mini hillock' is no way to refer to WGS
-
They don't need to look on here - just watch the fans fighting on the terraces & read the papers

Wanted Pearson to STAY. Are you a politician or something? Stay, yes, but not the same as not wanting him when he arrived. I fully agree that the current approach isn't working, but to be fair to Wotte he has started playing 4-4-2 which we all wanted and everything that has gone on over the last 5 years to bring us to this state is not exactly his fault. All I was saying is give the guy a chance
