  1. Crouch is doubtless a shrewd businessman. That is why he comes out with provocative offers like this one. If he really thought Lowe and Wilde were willing and/or able to stump up £2 mill each this offer would have remained private. It is clear that neither have access to such funds at the moment so why not ratchet it all up a bit by making hollow gestures. And they respond by saying 'it's yours for £6 mill,' because they know he hasn't got that either. It's all boardroom politics from a bunch of rich t*ss*rs who are all more interested in their own egos than the plight of the club
  2. When there are no more Dutchmen at the club?
  3. It clearly isn't only us that doesn't rate him, is it? He has been up for grabs on a free through two transfer windows without a bite, even on loan. Only one manager in Britain rated him - if only Alco-George was a club manager still......
  4. I think he meant offload
  5. To quote Pancake: So where has a player gone that many fans believe could and should be a pivotal player during the run-in? The answer to that one is: If he is pivotal to our chances we really are well and truly stuffed
  6. I actually think 5 points Tues 27th = Norwich away W Sat 31st = Swansea home L Tues 3rd Feb = Sheff Utd home D Sat 7th Feb = Watford away D (I think the two home games & 2 away games are interchangeable but 1pt at home & 4 away)
  7. Unreasonably optimistic for you
  8. Last of the summer wine with Crouch, Wilde & Lowe as Compo, Clegg & Foggy
  9. Looking on the bright side, how about 'Survivors'?
  10. He was loaned out because a) he had a bad attitude and b) every time he played for Saints he was sh1te. One good game against the Sk*tes doesn't make him the answer to all our prayers, enjoyable though it was to see. Let's keep a bit of perspective - he could come back & start to live up to his potential, but just as likely he'll have one good game before reverting to headless chicken mode.
  11. Do we not give the new manager at least a week's grace before we're all fired up about chanting sack the board etc
  12. I would have said that this answers all the questions. Obviously can't be unveiled as new coach/assistant manager at Watford until his notice has been served at Southampton. Pushed or gone for more money - who knows
  13. Who wants to find a millionaire
  14. Best thing Dyer has ever done for the Saints
  15. I wasn't really paying attention, but these comments about Kim this and Wilde that I thought perhaps we'd brought in the 80's pop-star turned TV gardener as our director of football. It seemed to follow a certain logic......
  16. Sorry about that, but I've finally got round to becoming a full member, fnarr, fnarr, and I've got all these posts I can now use
  17. Did we need to know that?
  18. Lowe and Wilde work together. Fear of losing your wedge does funny things to people
  19. Alain Perrin: Not wishing to swim against the current....... I wouldn't swim in that bucket at all if were you
  20. Showing my age, but what about Jim Montgomery?
  21. I've got my own bucket, thank you very much
  22. Is it just my imagination or did the now deified Nigel Pearson get a right old kicking on this site last season? And weren't people less than impressed, even after our get-lucky escape on the last day with him as manager. Just a thought
  23. Paul Tisdale ticks all the boxes for the start of next season (assuming Exeter don't get to meet us in League 1)
  24. Quote: Ridiculous to even suggest that no one would buy saints after admin Why? About half the clubs in the country are up for sale and no-one wants to buy any of them. And if by some miracle we did find a buyer it would be a consortium of hopeful but hopelessly underfunded local businessmen (Fulthorpe ring a bell with anyone?) followed by administration followed by another bunch of hopeful but hopelessly underfunded local businessmen and more administration (see AFC Bournemouth for details). I'm afraid there is nobody out there in the wider world who is in the mood for a thirty million pound plaything at the moment
