  1. I think he has done well most of this season. Because we've hardly played with a right winger this season he has had to do both attacking and dfending and sometimes he looks poor defensively because he has been up against two players
  2. Hurrah, I thought something dreadful had happened to you, so quiet have you been tonight
  3. That is also a valid point - BWP or Smith wouldn't have brought much to the party and MacLaggon, according to Radio Hants, is out for the season
  4. Like it. I'm a bit concerned that our whingers are off the pace this evening
  5. They are back because nobody else will pay them what they are on here & while they are here we are all happy to see them play
  6. Just a thought but we had no natural widemen today. Personally I don't think it is too big a problem with our two good attacking fullbacks & McG & Lallana able to run at defences and Euell at CF, but we never made it to the byeline which on another day might be a problem
  7. I've thought over the last few games and particularly today that McG has finally grasped what is required to be a footballer - ie graft & effort and concentration and not just step-overs and backflicks. I hope I'm right. On today's evidence, Lallana is learning that, too
  8. We're all right, everybody's right, even Alps & Stan, it's that sort of a day
  9. It was a good mix & what we've been missing
  10. Not true - they did well, but no better than James or Gillett or McGoldrick who never had a look in last season. And the reason they were out of the team was mostly financial desperation. Just appreciate a good result for what it is. Your life will be better for it
  11. He was and he really looks like he has a) grown up a realised what being a pro is about & b) found his best position. He has some genuine ability, he can run at people and find space, but he is never, ever going to be a back-to-goal old-fashioned centre forward & fair play to Wotte for working that out
  12. Excellent result and in some ways they all deserve 10 out of 10, but I'll give my comments anyway Davis - 7 - quiet day overall, but did nothing wrong James - 8.5 - this lad is a good footballer. Barely put a foot wrong all game Skacel - 8 - looked good going forward Perry - 7 - steady Saeijs - 8 - this man has made a huge difference to our team & possibly our season Surman - 7.5 - not his best but he is still the brains of the outfit Lallana - 7.5 - looking fit again and troubled them all afternoon McGoldrick - 8.5 - worked his socks off. Looks like he has finally found his best position. He is never a centre-forward, but in a slightly deeper role he caused them trouble all day Gillett - 9 - the perfect man to sit in the middle. One of his best games for us Euell - 8.5 - didn't look like scoring, but his physical presence up front made a real difference Saganowski - 8.5 - great goals and plenty of hard work Wotton - 7 - does what it says on the label BWP - 6.5 - marked down because he needlessly conceded possession twice in the last two minutes Liptak - 7 - don't know if he is any good but he is tall and he has long legs which was ideal in the last five minutes Wotte - 9.5 - Got his selection bang on, finally started putting round pegs in round holes (Euell & McG) & you couldn't fault his substitutions either. Also got them working their socks off
  13. You never ever just answer the question, do you. Do YOU, not anyone else, want Wotte to fail and/or we go into administration? Yes or No
  14. Do you genuinely unequivocally answer No to both questions
  15. Your whole world would start to crumble if Saints started doing well. You wouldn't cope
  16. Could you get a bet on Saints being promoted from League 1 in May 2010, and if so what are the odds. Might just be worth a fiver
  17. What's a sticky?
  18. Can some clever person give me the breakdown, since 2005, of who was in charge when, then I might be able to give a reasoned answer rather than a knee-jerk response
  19. IMO he hasn't got £2mill he's willing to put in - his previous offer was purely an empty gesture in the endless internecine power struggle because he knew that Wilde & Lowe couldn't raise it either
  20. Chris Nicholl actually signed some very good players from the lower divisions - Glenn ****erill, Gerry Forrest, Kevin Moore to name but three
  21. Since our first game in CCC, (Aug 2005), 72 players have made their debut for Saints (ie in three and a half seasons) It took from Ron Davies's debut in Aug in 1966 until a lad called Martin MGrath in March 1980 for the same number of players to make their debut
  22. Fred Dinenage
