You have to understand that for Stanley, Hating Lowe is what Supporting Saints is to the rest of us. It's his passion, his hobby. Saints is incidental. If Rupert took over at Swindon he'd start to support them just to be able to hate Lowe. I have a suspicion he might have been Rupert's fag at school - that would explain the obsessive hatred

It might have had somehting to do with agreeing with Alpo twice in a row, which was decidely spooky, but I am starting to get the strangest of feelings that there is something approaching a ceasefire on here and a unanimity of feeling that maybe it would be best if we rallied behind the team from now till the end of the season, then we can let the bloodletting begin once we are (hopefully) safe. True, or am I whistling in the dark?

The thing about Rupert is he is just so hateable. Everything about him. He was born like it & he'll die like it. Wilde maybe equally culpable, but he doesn't inspire such strong emotion. A moderate dislike on a personal level is about the most he could raise in anyone. If WGS cadged a fiver off you, you'd say 'go on, have a tenner', if Rupert gave you a fiver with his smile you'd think 'you c**t, why wasn't it a tenner?' Just the way he is, I'm afraid

I think my point was that team of high earners failed miserably last season & those costs had to be addressed - hence the loaning out of Saga etc. I also think that JP thought McG could play loan striker - which was wrong & John couldn't - which was right, hence his departure, but I guess wages was still the deciding factor

I think it's highly likely - just the same as the club probably explained to the players why they were being left out yet they go to the press to say how upset & hurt they are. It's all just part of planet football
