The Exeter article on Seabourne says the transfer was done in a very short amount of time so it's highly likely Pardew got his number one target so quickly that the Ward contract had to be withdrew there and then.

What's your point? He broke into the team at an early age at centre half, he rose up from the BSP to League 2 to League 1 playing centre half. Does that not lead someone to believe he has built his "career" so far playing there?

He must be playing in a new position to what he has done his whole career then. Never struck me as a full back. His distribution was never his strong point.

Yes, but we are debt free. People don't seem to be grasping that concept. Most Premier League clubs are operating in millions and millions of £££s of debt. You only have to see the recent story regarding Abramovich wiping out £340m for Chelsea to be "virtually debt free".

I disagree. Responsible fans should leave it up to the highly capable Liebherr and Cortese. They are no mugs, they know exactly what they are doing. Fans should have trust in our hierachy now and not "worry" about our expenditure.

If we are only offering him an 18 month deal I'd hope we aren't paying Coventry more than £500k. It would be bad business to pay the £900k-£1m being rumoured and then let Ward have the opportunity to leave for free next year.
