  1. You should sort your life out. The EU doesn't have tax raising powers, it couldn't "force" anyone to do this, and it certainly won't be. It is just your rabid Euro-scepticism and scaremongering that makes you think like this.
  2. Should have got the £25 return flight from Bristol, chap. Up The Saints. See everyone at Sedgefield in the afternoon!
  3. By the way, I am totally and utterly against having trackers fitted in cars, although I am for road pricing on major roads. It is disgusting how much we are already spied on by our government, who invade our privacy at every turn. It is quite appalling what goes on, but perhaps more worrying is that some (thankfully not many), don't seem to care. As if the government spying on them is a good thing. Chips in cars would be just another step in the government's desire to watch you all day every day. Britain has a proud tradition of standing up for civil liberties, and being a liberal (small l) nation. Sadly, this is disappearing rather quickly.
  4. The crux of your comment was that the EU would force us to do this in the future. You just wanted to blame the EU. Get over it.
  5. You are a paranoid Euro-sceptic. B*gger all to do with the EU, and we are by far the worst nation in the world (largest DNA database, 20% of world's CCTV cameras for 1% of population) for being snooped on, and it is down to OUR government not the EU. Stop kidding yourself.
  6. It's about striking a balance. Those who drive more should pay more, but those who live out in the countryside etc who don't have access to public transport shouldn't be penalised. Therefore, road charging on motorways and major A-roads is absolutely fine with me. Vehicle Excise Duty and Road Tax should be abolished, but fuel duty should rise, so that those who drive more pay more. Of course, this all has to be done with real investment in public transport, which is the bit that I can't see happening if Labour or the Tories are in power.

Seeing as Cpt Knobface III (aka "Saint" George) hasn't posted in a bit (thus making me actually want to return to the thread), I would like to point out that I am pleased that the Saints are 9-0, but at bit worried at all the mistakes in our game. Still, I suppose playing badly and winning is the sign of a good team. Talking about good teams, the Donks certainly aren't one. Think their season is over now. NFC East looks the most intriguing division in football right now, IMO. The Cowboys, Giants and Eagles all have the potential to go all the way, but none of them can find any consistency. Intriguing times.

  9. 4-5-1 is the best formation in football. Sadly, the thicko Brits have been fed it as a defensive formation, but it is actually very attacking. More options than 4-4-2. But the thicko Brits like their 4-4-2 for no reason.
  10. At the end of the day, I'm not sure what any other manager could have done. Scotland really have a poor squad at the minute, and they have also lost a number of players due to injury during the qualifying campaign. And to have Kenny Miller up front who is guaranteed to miss the best chances doesn't help either. And he did that under Smith and McLeish as well as Burley.
  11. Sadly the team plays better using 4-5-1. That is apparent. You can't just pick your best players, you have to pick the best TEAM. At the moment, that TEAM doesn't involve Connolly starting.

Load of codswallop. It's easy to spot the different types of delivery. As others have said, we have actually started scoring from corners since James began taking them. Sadly, he is just the new scapegoat.
  13. So are many in the non-student population.
  14. 3.20 Plumpton It's a Classic
  15. Drop him. Simple.
  16. It's not just Wotton, it's the fact we have reverted from playing a system that suited us, worked well, and is an excellent tactical system, to the donkey British 4-4-2 formation. It's been a terrible move to stick with it, and I hope yesterday was the death knell for that backward formation. Whether he brings Wotton back in, or brings in Waigo and puts Lallana with Hammond and Schneiderlin in the middle, I don't mind.
  17. Missed Southend. Never managed all the away games in a season, but well over 90% most seasons now. Might not go to Leeds.
  18. Probably true. I don't go that often. Went to the Stade Francais game a few weeks back, which they threw away in spectacular fashion.
  19. I also like the FOX NFL Sunday theme tune.
  20. Ah, but you haven't FACTed the occasion. Therefore, I am seconding Ski Sunday. FACT.
  21. I am stood on the open terrace for Bath Rugby v Ospreys tomorrow.
