T - turkish is, and always has been a colossal bore... -
Every season a new bellend emerges from the shadows, this year the award goes to MRX...

Biggest game in Crewe's history, cauldron-like atmosphere in front of 28,000 fans baying for blood, non-stop media coverage all week, playing against household names. I think we can forgive them for cracking under such extreme pressure...

Just enjoy it folks, at the end of the day it is only football. We can't control what's going to happen. I am sure we will bed in eventually, if we get relegated, we'll all still be Saints fans, no use all this frothing at the mouth. I'd like us to keep Adkins though, he's done a marvelous job and is perhaps trying too hard at the moment, seeing things he wants to change and reacting to it quickly as he is worried that if he leaves it as is, he will be castigated for NOT making a change. It's a learning curve and the experts on this forum with 20/20 hindsight wouldn't have got us out of League 1 with their supposed superior tactics and knowledge. Hang in there Nigel!

I know everyone here thinks that they'd do a better job then NA, but he works with team all week and gets input from them. Perhaps Ricky is not 100% and was always going to get 70 minutes. Give the guy the benefit of the doubt, he wants us to win too.

FourFourTwo's 'Name your club's best goal ever'

Some great goals mentioned already. I (partially) remember one by Ekelund after a number of passes that resulted in him steering in a diving header from almost 18 yards, think it was againts Coventry...can anyone clarify? -
Jim Magilton missed a couple as well. He was trying to pass sideways to someone else...

team are so jittery, one mistake and it's in our net. They know that, Villa know that. We need something, anything to get the confidence flowing and get our tails up. A Ramirez rocket would suffice...

what a ****ing shambles there...

Not bad so far, a bit of nervousness in the final third, need to relax a wee bit and just play. Sometimes it's hesitancy sometimes it's passing off to an area that was less dangerous than if they'd kept running with it. Hopefully we settle soon...

Tabernac! Stupid ****ing challenge, this is going to be 6-0 at the least...

Wow, that was weak, very very poor... DAVIS IS NOT PREMIER QUALITY...

Basketball. Sure they are great athletes and very skilled but there is too much scoring for it to be exciting. At least when you go to an ice hockey or football match you don't know whether your team will score and can go mental when they do. Basketball doesn't seem to be remotely exciting until the last 2 or 3 minutes, all seems a bit pointless really.

Brilliant match - well done andy!!!! Us open champion!!!

Another 498 pages I think and then they go pop on 1976, a nice, apt number...

Don't follow the English league. I am an Ottawa Senators fan, but it looks like the owners will lock the (greedy) players out here in North America, so I may give the English league a bit more attention.

Just made it into the final.

Scotland match is on, boy are they sloppy with the passing compared to Saints, really frustrating to watch...

I already acknowledged that I got it wrong above, but thanks. It was Goss' fluked scooped ball to Sutton's fluked header. Funny how the youtube vid showed neither of the sending offs, looked like we were taking a real battering but we were holding on with 10 and 9 men at times. Still gutted.

Yes you are correct, funny how the memory plays tricks eh?

91-92 season, Norwich in an FA Cup QF replay. With 2nd div Sunderland awaiting us in the SF we had done the hard part and drawn away at Carrow Road. We took an early lead and Le Tissier got sent off for kicking out at Robert Fleck. Norwich got an equaliser but we held on for extra time, then Barry Horne got sent off and we held on heroically with 9 men trying to force a penalty shoot out. Then as the seconds ebbed away with 120 on the clock, some cvnt called Geremy Goss scored the flukiest header I have ever seen with his back to goal and on the edge of the box. Gutted, absolutely gutted afterwards, could barely speak...
