It's not an entertainement industry, it's football. -

I'd not be surprised if we make very few changes this summer. We're not selling "top players" so we'll not have a great deal of squad room for senior players. No Europe so no extra strain there really so I do wonder what we actually need right now. -
Was a great little knock but without Afridi's 4 wickets we may have been in difficulty. Our innings seemed to get lost in the middle a bit, pretty good start, lost wickets quickly and then progressed in singles until McManus shook it up a bit.

And to think the tour used to be won or lost on the big climbs, now it's on the descents that time is gained or lost.

What VvD race would that be then, Les said we aren't selling so it's a non starter really. Whether VvD is content to stay or not is something completely different. -

But it's Everton so what does an average Saints fan actually care anyway. They have money, they have a new sponsor who's going to give them more than Chang beer so let them spend it however they want. We shall see when the football actually starts, probably in about a fortnight come Wednesday for them. -

There was no precision on that really, just 10 million € for Rooney. Seems to be just based on the article from what I presume is today's Guardian anyway. -

L'Equipe says about 10 million for the Rooney part of the deal, I am not sure however that their source isn't just the Guardian. Also apparently Chelsea wouldn't pay Raiola's extortionate cut but were ready to match everything else, price+ player. -

Plus Rooney apparently. -
Looks like it might be one to forget for Dawson though, out for a duck and spanked in the 4 overs he's had so far.
-
Very wise, you could even stretch it out to the last 3km today.
-
Perhaps he's keen on going to Roma, all the rest is just incidental.

How confusing. Perhaps they've accepted to listen to bids and then refused those they've had then. -
Realistically I can only see a draw today unless the wicket has changed or changes this morning. Still it'll be 12 points in the bag and that should keep us in the top flight with reasonable results in our last 5 games. T20 this week-end isn't it ?

From Utd to boot, sounds about the right amount, maybe a bit on the high side for a player that only seems to score given certain conditions. -
Going to be a fair old drag today. 216 km with hardly a bump in the road to liven it up a bit. Guess we can look forward to a couple of crashes in the last 20 km or so, other than that a totally uninteresting stage, rest day on wheels for the GC riders.

Jan Bednarek signed from Lech Poznań on 5 Year Deal
Window Cleaner replied to Wimborne_saint's topic in The Saints
Why would he not be ? He has a no doubt well paid contract for another year so unless we can find him another club that he fancies and are willing to subsidise the obvious monetary shortfall he's going nowhere. He's been here 3 years I think and has hardly played, it obviously suits him that way. -
Sagan is certainly more than just a flat track sprinter. Bouhanni said Demarre took his ground as well, surprised that Demarre won at all really but that's probably a result of the fall about a mile out when Kittel got blocked I think.
-
Red card, Sagan expelled from the Tour.. Good move, these wild sprints on flat, uninteresting 200 km + stages need to end anyway. Today the finish was disputed by a handful of guys who'd done absolutely sod all for 5 hours or so. Getting them into to place to do their monkey tricks usually ends in serious riders ending on the deck a couple of times in the last 30km or so.
-
Big score indeed but I don't know if we can reasonably expect to bowl them out twice now as they've made a really solid start.

Can we finish higher than eighth in the 2017-18 season?

Well there was Niasse and no doubt others. -

Looks like it was an excellent batting day for Hants yesterday. 500+ and 5 batting points should in theory be possible.
