But for VVD to go on strike at Liverpool he'd have to sign for them first right? Badly thought out argument.
-
Probably incredibly cheap though.
-
Doubt it, we've said Virgil isn't for sale, if he eventually is the FA will just presume that we've altered our position and have sanctioned the sale. They can't do much anyway because the legal eagles will come down on them like a ton of bricks.
-
That really isn't the name of the game, football is about winning (or not losing when necessary) and finishing as high up the table as possible.
-
I think that would need to be judged by the gap to the teams above and possibly below. Not finishing just above Bournemouth on goal difference would definitely be a start in my view.
-
Well we obviously need more rain and less muggy conditions then.
-
Difference is in the top 5 teams, in 2015/16 the top 5 totalled a bit over 350 points I think and last season that total was over 400. When the Top 5 dominate then there's less for the also rans.

Just don't understand it, we really struggled to get Lancs out with one of our bowlers conceding 180 runs off of 40 overs and now we're 26/4. WTF has happened here. PS Any rain about...
-
And there was I thinking up until mid-afternoon that a draw was pretty certain. Still we've got points on the board already and Yorks have already lost and Warks aren't looking great, should finish at least mid-table. Rossouw is having to bat in the first few overs every time because our openers are a bit fragile. If one bats well you can count on the other one getting out fr not many. Problem definitely needs adressing for next season, 2 fresh openers. Not even that, both openers gone and we're 15/3.
-
Well of course, just like some other club is going to sell us a decent replacement for a ridiculously low sum because they didn't want to sell him to whatever other club their fans don't like for a big transfer fee..
-
Really, annoying that then. In fact really annoying. Lancs are scoring quite quickly now off all of our bowlers and could easily be 250 or so ahead by stumps today. That might not be so good for us tomorrow given the seeming fragility of our openers.

Saints Transfers Thread - Deadline Day
Window Cleaner replied to Saint Charlie's topic in The Saints
Don't see much point in loaning him out, he'll not make the grade with Saints, might as well just get whatever we can for him now. -
Looking to be in a bit of difficulty today, just can't get a breakthrough so far. Game should go to a draw though which is a fair result for Hants at Old Trafford.
-
Well of course the money isn't important to you, it's not your money. Bet you'd be amongst the moaners if the owner suddeny decided to reclaim all of the money she's loaned to the club over the years. Very silly attitude.
-
Well I doubt that he's even a candidate so it doesn't really matter what some people want does it. No doubt there are far better paying jobs with clubs more likely to suit Van Gaal if he really wanted another job. Why he probably could have gone back to the Dutch National Team if he'd been that keen.
-
Oh Long can put the ball in the net alright, trouble is he has great difficulty staying onside. I expect that could well be because he's a bit thick.
-
Well for the after next manager I'll be hoping for Gabriel Heinze if he does well at Standard Liege. Then again I doubt we'd be top of his list in that case. One of my all time favourite players.
-
Right bloke, wrong name.
-
Anyway transfer betting should be banned, I mean on yer 'orses they have to be in the race before you can bet on them don't they. This is just money for old rope for bookies and their like.
-
Bof, all's fair in love, war and football transfers...
-
Not so sure, think that they'll baulk at the asking price and get someone else in. I will be staggered if they really give us anything north of 50 million.
-
Indeed, we paid 12 million for what turned out to be bit part players last summer. In today's player market 12 million doesn't get you much.
-
Well without having studied the article in any great way I can't say I'm surprised. There is just so much junk available for the young to spend their hard-earned on now. I didn't need a £1000 computer or a 500£ telephone, I had an old banger that I got for not much and not a balls out BMW at about 50000£. We were content with much less I think.

Not a bad day all in all after a bit of a sticky start. 351/8 at Stumps, that's our first 4 batting points of the season is it not ? Good knock from Bailey, solid support from others and a bit of an Abbott blast to wake up the crowd towards the end. Could make 400 if Abbott hangs around for say 15 overs tomorrow.
