Well as I watched Pochettino at PSG and Bordeaux I at least knew what kind of player he had been. I thought it a pretty decent appointment as, as you will all remember, I was absolutely convined that for the PL Adkins wasn't really good enough.
-
I don't know but a lot of these names being mentioned reek of a typical Watford or Hull managerial punt, don't see much proven quality at all.
-
Well we know that we sacked our manager at least. So 1 out of 3 isn't bad... Personally I'm more interested in the take over getting done. We need to move on and get some real money into the club, it's origin does not overly concern me.

He's coaching the Belgian national side now isn't he with Thierry Henry as his assistant ? Could see the ploy there, hire Martinez get Henry as well and see what happens.

Oh fire extinguisher training courses are good fun, especially when you do them once a year and they're always the same. People get pretty blasé and usually end up spraying the rest of the class through inattention. Surprised they're not mandatory though. NB. Our fire extinguishers are coded with a little pictogram, then again I guess the French are stupid enough not to remember codes, numbers or colours. It's so simple even fools can use them. -

And one or two efficient fire extinguishers for each flat would cost how much ? Including mandatory annual maintainence. Gas supply is of course a problem but I presume it can be shut down. Are fire extinguishers even obligatory in UK dwellings ? -

Yep, I was down Hythe way the other week, never seen so many "council houses" with swimming pools in the garden. -
Err Bob Bradley?? Bloke has no UK or even first class pedigree. He's a third world coach by the look of it. We have our structure and I can see no point in running after this bloke just because he originates from Southampton.

Ah right, that situation doesn't exist here,(well as far as I know anyway) an HLM block is just that, you can't buy your flat or sublet it (in theory). They can also turf you out if you earn over a certain threshold or no longer meet the requirements for HLM housing.. -
And when we're selling players we seem to be able to do deals when the TW is in theory closed. The deals are done anyway and just officially ratified when the window formally opens.

Still why let details like that get in the way of a bit of Council/Government bashing. I have been reading about the couple of Italian Architects who came to Britain to get the sort of salary they couldn't get in Italy, sad isn't it. Still amazes me that they could get a council flat though or have waiting lists just faded away these last years. -

Our owner doesn't have the money, there is no "they" it is "she", that is the point. I thought we'd established that by now. -
Well sod him then, we didn't want him anyway.;)

Perhaps Claude just didn't fancy another year, being pressured from all sides to change the way his side plays. I mean there's not a lot of jobs that don't really suit you that you can just walk away from with a pay off are there. I doubt that anyone even knows the real figures but the sums paid to sacked UK football managers these last few years must be pretty astronomic.
-
Fashionable where exactly ? Oh right Germany, where of course their league champions are coached by an Italian who took over from a Spaniard. Yep got it...
-
Not for genuine international call-ups no. Just idiotic representative matches at the same time as Championship games. Although..................

If you want Laurent Blanc, which incidentally is a fair old idea, then we need to get those rich Chinese in ASAP. He's a 200K a week man, or at least he was at PSG. As they had to give him a pay off of some 20 million £, then they may still have some sort of control over any future employment during the period for which they had to stump up.
-
China I think.

But their owner has real money, plus they have players who they know are going to be sold. Everton need to get on with their transfers anyway as they start their EL campaign at the end of July. Their players must be back there in a fortnight I suppose. -
I trust you jest sir..

A player who's never realised the promise he showed as a teenager. Aren't they looking at Sandro Ramirez from Malaga as well? -
Confusing isn't it. Still it's a traditional Saints summer. Don't really care myself, we've had about 5 managers in 8 years and we seem to be going along in an alright way. It's the players that make the team anyway. We'll get someone in and depending on whether he plays brilliant, dazzling football or a serial drudge but obtains roughly the same league position, he'll either want away for a "bigger" club or be sacked within 2 seasons.
-
So today Ranieri at Nantes and Oscar Garcia at St Etienne. Can't see any worthwhile job available for Puel in France just now. Good job he got the Saint's pay off eh ! Wouldn't be surprised to see him somewhere else in England though, team that puts winning above amusing the public perhaps.

Who knows if Tuchel was really our first choice. I thought that the only real ITKs here were hinting at a German but other than Tuchel. As far as I can understand Tuchel was sacked by Dortmund for being a bit of a knob on a semi-permanent basis. Don't know if that would make him a top of the list candidate for us really.

Perhaps he just doesn't fancy getting slagged off on the internet when he doesn't play the ful first XI in a League Cup first rounder against some 3rd division minnows.
