  1. Probably because there's extra police leave demands for Valentine's Day.
  2. strange how he shifts from he'll to he will without making any emphasis change though.
  3. do they actually deliver down your way?
  4. Is the Echo office no longer in Above Bar? no wonder the rag has gone down hill, can't write tranchant news stories from the provinces.
  5. you'd make a great agony aunt St clark
  6. You are joking right?? Football is a man's game played by men for men. We don't need dancing girls or breaks in play on Valentine's day to nip out to buy a bunch of daffs in case the wife didn't see eye to eye with us about going to the game.
  7. but Mutch is only on loan for 1 month (initially) probably because they can't afford Gillett, he got a new deal in 2008 (once again I think) and I'm sure that even skint as we were we probably pay more than Doncaster. So he'll sit out the remaining 6 months of his contract with us and then see what's on offer in June.
  8. what's 500k (probably 700) when you owe 50 million? I might remind you that playing against Utd last season with 32K in the ground at 30£ a ticket didn't help our cause very much. Skate need to sell players, a lot of them, in the next 7 days or else they'll be wound up as they have no income and massive debts. The side they'll turn out on Feb 13/14 will resemble the one they put out on Saturday, the ANC players will be the first out of the door.Their monthly salary bill is probably about 2.5 million, it's not the receipts from 10K spectators (of which they owe 45% to Sunderland) that will help them pay it.
  9. couldn't reduce it any more because he'd already served 1 match, they could have given him a get out of jail card for next time though I suppose. More importantly he won't get fined so much (because cards sometimes have a financial kick in the arse as well) either by the FA or by the club.
  10. Yes it was Georges (saw him the other day by the way,he still keeps in touch apparently)
  11. Spending big is relative really. We'll probably make something in the region of approximately roughly 700K from our forthcoming spat with Skates. That's a lot of money when you're in League 1 and apparently don't need it anyway.Might as well invest it in the team because otherwise the taxman will soon have most of it off you.
  12. No we appealed, it's on their site (FA)dated Friday
  13. course it was, he started it, what is more he'd been a dirty little sh*t all the rest of the game.Ref wasn't very consistent at all, won't say bad because I haven't seen everything but he wasn't great.
  14. His case was due to be heard today, the fact that he's down for 1 match now on their list seems to indicate that it was favourable to us.
  15. I'm certainly not complaining, I'm saying it probably won't be do-able.
  16. It would have been a correct decision by the ref if he'd sent the other little pr@t off as well. He was inconsistent in his actions.
  17. strange that, it definitely said 3 first team matches last Thursday.
  18. when the time has been finalised, the discussions with skate over pricing and the say so of the OB have all been finalised. Don't be surprised if ticket prices rocket to £28 or even £30, keep the riff raff out like;)
  19. only 8K taking up 2 tickets for Skates?? I very much doubt that. There will be a black market for tickets and everybody knows it. The OB will ask the club for extra controls on ticket sales and that can't be if every ST holder has a chance to buy an extra ticket and dispose of it as he or she wishes. It worked for united last year because we had far less STs and we were crap,we still got a full house. It being Skates changes everything. So don't be too disappointed if you just get your 1 guaranteed (by the charter) seat and have to scrap for the extras like everyone else.
  20. doubt it to be honest because there are too many STs in existence for it to be viable.Perhaps adult ST holders will have a chance to buy 2 but they won't let it happen for Junior STs, doesn't make economic sense really. The OS says there are in excessof 12500 sts,500 or so more may get sold this week so proposing 13000+x2 places plus nearly 5K to skates just won't work because of the segregation that there will have to be, boxes, hospitality etc.
  21. our midfield will look nothing like that. I doubt that Gillett will ever start another game for us, AP would rather start the tea lady in midfield.
  22. Must have at least 2 and a half seasons left, I think his contract was four years starting in June 2008,might even be 5 years though.
  23. In fact we probably now have too many ST holders for them to be offered the chance of buying 2 tickets for the cup game. The maths just wouldn't work out because we will have to give Pompey at least 4880 tickets. So it'll be 1 for each ST, about 4.8K for Pompey thus leaving 12/13K for general sale, prioritised of course for regulars.
  24. I disagree, we are a good side, trouble is a lot of League 1 sides hustle far too much for us. We are too cultured for League 1. Leeds beat Utd and drew with Spurs, there isn't a vast gulf between the Prem and League 1 in one off games. I think Pompey's africans will just freeze up at SMS,especially if they haven't been paid, which is pretty likely isn't it. Coventry rattled them in the first FA cup game and we will as well.
