He is certainly capable of doing so but it may not be soon enough to prevent this ever recurring problem being our downfall against Millwall next week.

We're not just weak, without glass man Thomas we are inexistant at CB. It was our downfall last season, it will be again.

But it all seems so unnecessary, our team looks OK apart from the habitual weakness at CB.

Well it's not at all surprising is it? I am really concerned that just a week away from the start of the 2009/10 campaign we have, realistically,just Perry and Lancashire at CB, neither should be in the first team on a permanent basis.Obviously we can't rely on Thomas playing even half of this season's 50 or so matches so the problem needs sorting out, today if possible. I expect us o get tonked by QPR with that central pairing,our preseason has been disasterous ,apart from the Hearts win and Aberdeen showed us jut how bad Scottish football is mid week.We are at the start of a brand new era but teamwise it's same old same old.

I suspect that ML knew very well that Pinnacle was all bullsh*t and no money and that he cotinued with his plans throughout. I could see it and I'm sure that those acting for ML could as well.

Not so much, it's behind us now. I feel that we have a nucleus of a side with 6 or 7 players who are quite decent, the problem is that whatever they do is continually negated by the rest of the crap that we have to play to make up the side. If Thomas stays on and stays fit,parternered by a new decent CB the defence will be OK,we need a midfield player to partner James,Schneiderlin and Gillet,Stern and AN Other in attack will be a decent side;

Many players lack real quality,many fans lack real judgement,they think the players are performing less well than they could,the real reason is that many players on our books are just plain crap and successive youth coaches have bigged them up wickedly..

We'd need 90+ points, say 93, that's 31 wins, if we could get that many we could get beaten 15 times.However 31 wins is a lot, 28 wins,9 draws and 9 defeats would be my route-map for a 93 point finish.

It must also be useful to be a "renewal" next May instead of a newbie,presuming we get promotion of course. I expect the price would go up a notch if we're back in the CCC next season so renewing might save another £100 or so on a pair of tickets.

Teaching English abroad makes you depressive and suicidal,teaching English in England just pushes you over the edge. I wouldn't mind wagering that the average level of English in any reputable lycée south of Calais is as good as your average local comprehensive (or whatever they call it nowadays).Without mentioning Northern Europe.

Perry is handy enough on his day but he's going on 37 and that's far too old for a bloke who's 3 inches shorter than the average centre back ,you can't rely on positioning and experience against blokes who could give Usain Bolt 10 yards and still beat him,nor bloke with a vertical bond of nigh on a meter from a standing start..

Lancashire is just not up to the job, get over it. I've seen hundreds of kids who looked good against other kids, when it came to moving up a gear there was nothing left in the tank. Talent is natural but any old knob can be made to look good in the junior sections with excessive coaching and practice,effort and talent are two completely different things . Morgan has probably more talent than most of you have ever seen but he is dismissed by most as overated.......he isn't,Saint's environnment is nocive to him that's all. I hope AP sorts it out .

Seriously though AP has to get in 2 new centre backs before 1st August. Then he can play Perry as a sort of sweeper at away games where a point would be handy We shipped a shedload of goals last season and our current centre backs played their full part in that. Atrocious both of them, got to get it right before we can move on; The club has obtained about 2.6 million in transfers out and another 3 million or so in ST sales, surely there must be a bit of cash available immediately to sort out this primordial matter.I'll be clear about this, IMHO if we don't get 2 new central defenders in right now we'll be in deep brown, unless Thomas can fill one spot on a regular basis.
