Because Koeman wants nothing to do with Reed in the first team unless it's the very last solution at the bottom of the barrel. His choices last season will tell you that. It's not understandable or explicable but there it is.

With the basic difference is that one is a class act and always marketable and the other might soon be forgotten after a self enforced absence or a few poor games. Wanyama isn't that good, important to us perhaps but really not all that good on several fronts.

Ah I don't know....it seems to me that perhaps someone in the club would sell Pelle because they're not overkeen on the style of play that he seems to promote. Koeman might not want to sell Pelle though, depends really who decides what and who has the upper hand. Can see it all finishing in tears myself. I, in my usual minority of 1 I expect ,am not overkeen on Koeman, preferred Ranieri at the time and am still not a big fan. I don't like hoofball, never have and never will.

Why woud we sell when the club have been quite definite about not selling him ? To sell him now would just lead the administration into a situation of total non-credibility. Certain positions would be virtually untenable...won't happen.

But basically we have no real idea of what last night's team are actually capable of, most of them are fairly new to us and several wouldn't normally be in the starting line up. Personally Ii know nothing about Juanmi,Cedric,Martina, Caulker or Romeu. I know that Targett isn't good enough for the first team and that JWP is a wimp so that leaves just 5 regular first team players. last night's side was a seriously diminished version of the team we know and that got us to this competition in the first place.

Given that we desperately needed a goal and Mané was the most likely player to get it for us you can really only come to the conclusion that he wasn't fit enough to play and was named on the bench by default. Koeman isn't going to use the young players, even though Reed said that they would take up the extra games caused by the EL, Gaston is personna non-grata again and there was no-one else fit. Tadic looked in a poor way but we played him for a while anyway, desperation stakes ?
