  1. Away fans are often banned in Ligue 1 stadiums nowadays. StE still get good crowds though and the Cauldron hasn't changed much. Still a good place. Economics are of course biting in to French football everywhere and teams are become less and less inspirational.
  2. Yes I think so, Davis isn't a bad player at all and we could certainly use a home grown lad who's prepared to stay with us for a while once he's topped out..
  3. Now you're talking. I was always a terrace fan, even when my ordinary lifestyle would have put me into the West Stand regular bracket. I loved Saturdays in the Milton and similar spots in other grounds,, a place to swap your suit, tie and Gucci brogues for a few hours of fun every week. Kids were elsewhere in the choccy boxes, women..well unless they were like the isolated blonde nutter that was always there and who actually seem to enjoy getting groped by 2000 or so blokes every time the Saints came over the half-way line,..then you didn't see any, Tyrell and Greens was their Saturday spot. Real football, a game for men, played by men for the tittilation of other men.
  4. Both feet was just a misunderstanding caused by Koeman's iffy command of the English language. Never was a real issue. LvG creates similar confusion amongst the OT faithful because he confuses the use of 2 Engllish words which are both the same in Dutch...apparently.
  5. Strikes me that he's become a mini-Davis, a sort of jack of all trades who excels at none. His primary goal should be to become efficient enough to replace Davis in the side as starter and see where he goes from there. Until he does that he'll be in and out of the side.
  6. Probably because many "real" fans have been priced out of football because of the ST dominated policies. If you've not got the wherewithal to be a ST fan then you may or may not get a ticket for individual games. Too many kids, too many women, too many old fogies is all that the ST policy encourages.
  7. The Turks were thinking that anyone helping anyone helping the Kurds is their enemy. The Turkish attitude towards the Kurds is one of the most important sideshows of the whole affair. The Kurds are battling the EI on the ground, 10000 or so of them are 12 miles from Raqqa, if they prevail then they'll have grounds for a Kurd state and that's something that Erdoggan, an islamist at heart, will never tolerate. Then there's the case of the ethnic Syrian Turkmen who are battling against Bachar.
  8. And JWP is what exactly...this is the problem, no one really knows, he's certainly not got the qualities to make a real DM, if he's not an AM then that only leaves the nebulous role of CM or utility man.
  9. Didn't Citeh want to give us 20 million for him a while back..well this way with the money then gents.
  10. Or failing that, Home Alone XIV
  11. Although with some you need to be accepted onto the main forum by nature of "likes" on the quality of your posting on a neophytes forum. Bloody hard to accede to the real deal according to a MU supporting colleague of mine. However the quality of the main forum isn't all that at all.
  12. It's a total mess really, each faction and nation involved has it's own objective in view.None of them want the same end result. Doubt if anyone in the UK has reported that the EI now have an unexploded french 500 kg smart bomb to parade around.
  13. Then again you have to consider the England U21 possibles who've graduated to the full national side at an early age such as Barkley,Shelvey,AOC and now Alli . If Barkley was still in the U21s would the now 21 yr old JWP still be there or captain.
  14. So what's the current opinon on his progress then ? He was a stand in for Bertrand so obviously no real comparison can be made yet on their respective qualities.
  15. If any of them apart from JWP ever got any PL game time we might be able to form an opinion. As they don't then you'd have to assume that Koeman sees no need or reason to use any of them and he must know better than any of us...right?
  16. Trigger happy Turks...... Situation has gotten far too complicated...probably for the benefit of the ..."bad guys" whomsoever that may be.
  17. Nasri is out for quite a while I think, has become a bit of a sick note.
  18. At least they do not complicate the task. On another note each day brings new reports of the French aiding and abetting their assailants. Last week it was revealed that on the evening of the 13th the BRI had 3 out of 50 of their unit on duty and that the drama had to be tackled first by the BAC which is not equipped for such a mission, their principal task being more in the banditism line. Today it was revealed that one of the suicide bombers had his passport and identity papers confiscated for trying to go to Syria a while ago. He simply went and told his local commissariat that they'd been lost and obtained new ones just like that so off he went to Syria. It's all being revealed as a monster own goal really.
  19. Who knows really, if there's any real likelyhood of him being sold he'll probably be useless to us from the moment he starts believing in it all. Like Victor last August IIRC.
  20. Indeed, they also have a strange pattern of qualification rounds where AfCoN qualifiers and WC qualfiers alternate on occasions. Sadio went to thje AfCoN last winter and won't be going in January 2016.
  21. To do what exactly? The UK has no colonies to protect, no vast stretches of territorial waters to patrol and there are no foreseeable naval combat zones. It will just lead to loads of idle matelots doing endless NATO and EUMAFOR drills. Look at our FREMM campaign, originally there were to be 19 I think, reduced to 8. We have put 5 afloat, sold 1 to the Maroccans, sold one of ours to the Egyptians although I doubt that they'll ever pay us anyway. The Aquitaine is not yet in full service even after ' years of "trials" and the other 2 are swanning about on promotional tours trying to get 3rd world nations to buy a couple. Every NATO drill is US led and they have tens of Arleigh Burkes to put to use every time. At this time there is no need for a great number of European combat vessels.
  22. He is not wrong, it's all got horrendously over the top. Everything is a drama to be played out and capitalised upon if possible.
  23. Player eligibility[edit] As required by the regulations, teams must be exclusively composed of national team players playing in their country's own domestic league.[2] As I said, a minor tournament for teams comprised of only national championship based players. The next ACoN is in Gabon in 2017
  24. Doesn't sound at all right, they had one last year, 2017 should be the next one in err Gabon, this must be some other tournament because they are in WC qualifiers just now. NB The Rwanda tourny is just for African based players, sort of consolation competiton I suppose.
