  1. Liverpool have also signed and sold Suarez and Torres at huge profits, it's all swings and roundabouts really. At least they've won a Champion's League and had a couple of good PL placings, they should have won the PL last season, thanks to Gerrard they didn't. A great servant for them signed for nothing at all but you can't get away with the fact that last season he lost them the PL title all by himself. Anyway I don't really know why everybody is so concerned with Liverpool, they do whatever it is they want and it's ferk all to do with us.
  2. We're about to see if Notts are any better then, already 3 wickets down this morning and we still need a few to avoid a possible follow on, up to Ervine, Briggs,Adams and Tomlinson to try to avoid that.
  3. Van der Wiel is more of a regular than Aurier actually but Blanc often prefers Marquinos to both of them for CL games, there's a lot of rotation at the back at PSG. I'd imagine that they'll be looking for another south american for their RB role, they were running after Danny Alves at one time.
  4. From the French press, au délà meaning beyond, about 25/26 million £ yes, Dragovich is the name of the Austrian CB in question, can't remember where he plays.
  5. Today's rumour from au délà Dover, an Austrian centre half and Van de Wiel again. Total projected cost, about 36 million €.
  6. He's back in training I think, some time last week.
  7. Gaston will be entering his last year of contract so is nailed on to be sold this summer, probably back to Italy for about 5 million €.
  8. How so ? Sometimes I do wonder how much talent you need to be a top tennis player, I mean if fatso Bartoli can win Wimbledon it really can't be that difficult. Tennis is a game where opportunity exceeds talent I think, must be like playing the piano, if you haven't got a piano by the time you're 3 or 4 you ain't going to be very good at it.
  9. To support the pain she inflicts on herself in marathons I'd think she must have really high dopamine levels, that sometimes leads to being a bit quirky at best. Still Paula is a lovely girl, trotted with her for a while on the track at Font Romeu once or twice and you couldn't want to meet a nicer person. Anyway given the choice between Monaco and Bedford there's not much of a contest really.
  10. He looks a handy enough player alright but the intensity and physicality of the PL are obviously a challenge to him for the time being, same as they were for Gaston and perhaps even Coutinho. Djuricic looks like a real lightweight, I'd put him at about 65/66 kg so he"ll need to beef up a bit to make the impact he obviously has the talent to achieve.
  11. Since we've recruited these loanees we've hired a new recruitment director so I'm sure that there will be some input from him and the dutch bias may get toned down a bit.
  12. don't even joke about such a thing !!
  13. Bloody right it shouldn't, Canal+ commentators couldn't believe that it was allowed to stand, put it down to Nemesis myself though, retribution for causing our first goal by excessive pitch watering, Nemesis always turns up, maybe sooner, maybe later but regular as gravity.
  14. Exciting football ? Perhaps but I'm sure that we wouldn't do it if we didn't think it gave us some sort of advantage.
  15. A bidding war for an out of contract player ?????????? The only beneficiary from that would be the player himself, signing on bonus etc, he's not going to allow us to obtain money from any club that he could get for himself now is he. In my opinion we treated him in a cavalier fashion (at best) and he'll not want anything further to do with us.
  16. Although City have everything to play for, the struggle for 2nd,3rd and 4th places will continue to the last minutes of the last round of games as likely as not, any slacking off will mean 4th place (and the qualifiers) at best and 5th place in a worst case scenario where Liverpool win all of their remaining five games .
  17. I really don't see us doing any of that, there's nothing to say that he just wouldn't make any effort if he was forced to play, I think we made it abundantly clear to him that he had no future with us and as he's just got a few weeks contract left he may not even feel inclined to play for us again even if he could. There may be an academic question of him playing for us again but it won't happen in practice.
  18. More stubborn tail end resistance from Notts today then, some quickish wickets for our bowlers and then a 50ish stand so far for the last wicket, we really have to overcome this continual problem.
  19. Seem to remember that their respective last few games are about on a par with ours, perhaps they have more home games though, all 3 clubs have one tough looking game left, Citeh for both us and Spurs and Chelsea for Liverpool.
  20. Given our away record of late that might not be too far off the mark, depends who we have fit I suppose.
  21. How can you even think about making an offer for a player who will have about a month left on his contract. He'll sign for them on a free come the 1st July, he's not coming back and we'll get nothing whatsover.
  22. If not there will be plenty of takers and he'll choose the one with the most status, CL club no doubt.
  23. He had a pretty good game though, looked like last season's Lovren.
  24. Excellent game...pity about the result.
  25. Bookies don't do winds-up, just means more idiots have plonked money on Pelle than Kane I expect...
