  1. Over this no, our form since we took 26 points from 12 games has been patchy, these last few weeks it has become poor. As long as the majority are content with it and accept small compensations like a couple more points or 1 place better I guess it's OK. For me we've not done as well as we could have expected mainly due to management errors. I'll leave it there I think.
  2. 3 out of 4 wouldn't be bad. On JRod...great now let's get him onto the pitch and say ciao to the other lump.
  3. I bet it doesn't though, just the bench. Gazzaniga apart that is.
  4. Right, I didn't want to remind you all of this Ralph gem from last September but it seems that I have no option; http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2754285/Southampton-stronger-following-summer-exodus-claims-chairman-Ralph-Krueger.html So if we're stronger we should be doing better right ? If you dig about on Redslo's blog or in the forum archives I'm sure that you can find the original audio Solent interview.
  5. Nah, a wee bit of internet research informs us that she jacked it in after DNA tests were inconclusive and she decided he was too monstrous to be related to anyway.
  6. Well I don't have the facts to hand either but I've got the impression that he played some really useful innings last season, anchor type batsman.
  7. apparently not, we're doing "as well as can be expected" seemingly. Mind you from my limited experience of hospitals when they tell you that it's not usually a very good sign.
  8. I think he might actually but that's only because I can't see any of the really big name sides being interested in the player that I've seen for the last few games. We'll have to make an effort on money though.
  9. Walcott always was all about his pace, if it's on the wane he may be a pretty average footballer really.
  10. So 2 years then, perhaps there were some option years because I don't think we'd be able to terminate his contract otherwise, well not unilaterally unless there's some sort of unknown reason that is.
  11. Comes from Norway, not the ocean of footballing talent that it used to be.
  12. Expect us to make maximum effort on Clyne, he's a young player and we'd owe Crystal Palace a bit, we have no evident replacement and are there all that many competent right backs about . Form has fallen away a bit of late so perhaps Utd won't be all that interested, perhaps they'll go for Trippier instead or Van Der Wiel or Aurier or one of the others we're linked with from time to time. Can't see many other 'top' clubs in the market for a right back just now.
  13. Depends if you have the time or inclination to read the forum on a regular basis I suppose. http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?54132-Saints-Meet-Orjan-Nyland-Buyout-Mirror#.VVH4t_ntmko
  14. Someone said we agreed to meet their price, last week I think.
  15. Normally he should have had a year left I think, strange one. More the fool him for agreeing to it if it's exact.
  16. I still don't get all this we're doing as well as can be expected stuff, to me only Lallana hasn't been replaced correctly and we've spent a whole lot of money. Bertrand is and always was a better player than Shaw, Lambert was at the end of the road, Lovren...well you all like to laugh at his "deboires" and Toby is a good player, pity we didn't sign him permanently last summer and Chambers was a back up RB. So yes Lallana is missing but none of the others is of any great import, we got good money for them all, more than we probably should have done so let's knock off all the poor old us we've done well considering stuff eh.
  17. Why is his latest injury looking like a career ending one ?
  18. Safe ? Not if they lose both matches and with us playing at 12 45 on Saturday they won't know the Hull/Newcastle/Sunderland results or even have any idea how those games are going. So they'll try to win and certainly won't be slacking off. the week after perhaps when their safety is assured or at least visible during the game.
  19. I don't think we'll be finding that out at any time soon, we can only hope that JRod makes some sort of appearance before the end of the season. Shows us what we've been missing, even if it's only for 10 minutes or so.
  20. What we should be asking ourselves before we spalsh 3 or 4 million or whatever it is is do we have a player in the academy who can do the job just as well (at least). If not we need to ask ourselves why not and then pay the money because Elia is a very ordinary player..
  21. Reality attack I suppose, we probably can't afford to buy much without selling and if we sell it's only the better players that will be targetted. Vicious circle, too much money wasted on average players last summer. Now if we could sell Long .......
  22. Vince just seems to have no patience whatsover, tries to hoick everything "Over the Top Rank". Smith ...well I had him down to guide us through the sticky patches caused by Vince's impetuosity, perhaps he's just over the top now.
  23. Ah I don't know, Ings and Sturridge might make a good pairing with the attacking midfielders that they have. I watched them against Chelsea on Sunday and I'd admit that most of what they do isn't all that bad but they've nothing at the sharp end to finish it off..well that and Sterling being a greedy hog.
  24. Any cost arguement is totally negated by the fact that we wasted 12 million on a bit part player like Long. That is just totally unexplainable.
  25. the main point that you have to consider is that even when we were playing well and scoring at the start of the season the bulk of the goals scored by our principal striker were against poor teams, 2 in the rout of Sunderland, 2 against an abysmal Newcastle. The fact is that Pellè is not good enough to score against better teams and we don't have an alternative having wasted 12 million pounds on Long. People will say you're a clown, an idiot..I can live with that but Koeman's tunnel vision concerning Pellè has been our downfall. Strikers like Pellè do not score shedloads of goals in the PL, he's not quick enough of foot or brain to be where he needs to be when he needs to be more often than not. Big lumps don't score a great deal in the PL any more.
