Artur Boruc joins Bournemouth on loan
Window Cleaner replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
don't even joke about such a thing !! -
Bloody right it shouldn't, Canal+ commentators couldn't believe that it was allowed to stand, put it down to Nemesis myself though, retribution for causing our first goal by excessive pitch watering, Nemesis always turns up, maybe sooner, maybe later but regular as gravity.

Exciting football ? Perhaps but I'm sure that we wouldn't do it if we didn't think it gave us some sort of advantage.

A bidding war for an out of contract player ?????????? The only beneficiary from that would be the player himself, signing on bonus etc, he's not going to allow us to obtain money from any club that he could get for himself now is he. In my opinion we treated him in a cavalier fashion (at best) and he'll not want anything further to do with us. -
Although City have everything to play for, the struggle for 2nd,3rd and 4th places will continue to the last minutes of the last round of games as likely as not, any slacking off will mean 4th place (and the qualifiers) at best and 5th place in a worst case scenario where Liverpool win all of their remaining five games .

I really don't see us doing any of that, there's nothing to say that he just wouldn't make any effort if he was forced to play, I think we made it abundantly clear to him that he had no future with us and as he's just got a few weeks contract left he may not even feel inclined to play for us again even if he could. There may be an academic question of him playing for us again but it won't happen in practice. -
More stubborn tail end resistance from Notts today then, some quickish wickets for our bowlers and then a 50ish stand so far for the last wicket, we really have to overcome this continual problem.
-
Seem to remember that their respective last few games are about on a par with ours, perhaps they have more home games though, all 3 clubs have one tough looking game left, Citeh for both us and Spurs and Chelsea for Liverpool.
-
Given our away record of late that might not be too far off the mark, depends who we have fit I suppose.

How can you even think about making an offer for a player who will have about a month left on his contract. He'll sign for them on a free come the 1st July, he's not coming back and we'll get nothing whatsover. -
If not there will be plenty of takers and he'll choose the one with the most status, CL club no doubt.
-
He had a pretty good game though, looked like last season's Lovren.
-
Excellent game...pity about the result.

Bookies don't do winds-up, just means more idiots have plonked money on Pelle than Kane I expect...

Southampton: An example to the rest of the Prem

It's also erroneous, don't our accounts say that the players sold last summer fetched only 82 million £ ? -
Rodriguez has returned - BREAKING: NEW CONTRACT SIGNED

That's what they tell the children !! Really doubt if we'll see him in action again this season, things seem to have not progressed as planned, unless of course he was off visiting the facilities at Manchester City or wherever it's supposed to be today. Time seems to be drawing on for him though, maybe next season. -
We scored 14 goals in our last 10 games last season, from March to mid-May, Picked up 17 points so we'll need 8 goals and 10 points from our last 5 games to match that, should be doable.

Gallagher on the bench against the North London Yobbos, please
Window Cleaner replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
The name ? Just a play on words, still a strange thing for Koeman to say really why not just not say anything at all on the subject of Gallagher or wait and see or something. Such a definitive dissmissal as "we have enough first team players at the moment" well that smacks of someone cold calling for a job as an office clerk or something. -
Victor Wanyama tells The Sun that Arsenal want to sign him
Window Cleaner replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
If we even get Europa League that is, we've still got it all to do really. If we beat Spurs on Saturday we'll probably be OK but if not we've probably only got a 50% chance of qualifying at best, in fact the same odds as Villa have of winning the Cup. -
Kindergarden spelling test 10/10 or Mensa advanced level 10/10 ?
-
So basically RK doesn't rate Gallagher...seems like a categoric refusal to even try anything different even for 15 minutes at the end of a game.Must be a real downturn in situation for the lad.

It's sometimes too expensive to insure players against long term injury, many clubs don't do it any more, don't know whether we do or don't, we didn't at one time at the end of the Lowe era. I think career ending insurance is fairly widespread but incapacity through injury is not really standard. There have been many cases of players getting injured in international tournaments leaving their clubs to pick up the wage bill for months afterward, clubs have tackled UEFA over this and obtained some measure of compensation from the national associations, wouldn't get that if they had insurance for every player anyway. If we insure all of our players against temporary incapacity it would show up in the accounts, for a 30 player squad it would probably run into millions of £s, anyone seen that in the accounts?

Victor Wanyama tells The Sun that Arsenal want to sign him
Window Cleaner replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Victor to Arsenal rumours have been rife for a few years now, think his agent is on record as having said that he wanted gto go there when he was at Celtic, rumoured talks between Wenger and the family at that time. They didn't sign him then, they probably won't now. We're not going to be in the CL next season, maybe not even in Europe, players with ambition will have their agents working in turbo mode, get something fixed up before the summer tidal wave hits the market.. -
In fact JRod can only have had a negative influence on us this season, a year's salary for absolutely ferk all return, tough titty of course but it has had an effect to be sure.

So he's never spoken to Wenger, not once in what 5 years in UK football and a fair number of matchday meetings....unsociable sort of chap then. But to come back to this story, he's probably not spoken directly to Wenger about this but others may have done it for him, isn't that what agents do to earn their crust?
