  1. Why do we need a new head groundsman then? Retired, filched or sacked for overwatering?
  2. You probably mean Marie-Cecile, his high school girlfriend. She was still with him in Brazil last summer but there must have been a rift in the lute since then. Might even explain his indifferent form at times last winter.
  3. City's U21s would have played in the UEFA Youth League, think they got knocked out by the AS Rome in the quarters, so they'd have been playing a far higher standard of football than our lads for most of the season. Doubt if they bothered much with stuff like the U21 Cup.
  4. Ah, that would explain the child and the non-blonde that seemed to be with him at last week's after game parade then. Other than that no idea.
  5. Gomes just hasn't been able to seize onto the fact that English Football in general and PL football in particular isn't a place for wimps, fairies and incompetents. He was awful, that's not Spurs fault now is it. If he keeps his place at Watford we shall no doubt see once again how bad he really is.
  6. Although I've read that we may actually put in an offer for him, outright purchase or so it seems. Part Exchange perhaps ?
  7. or new and not yet under control, new iPhones do strange things in the hands of beginners.
  8. Liverpoool's main problem, well defensively speaking anyway, is that they have no realistic sentinel in front of the defence and with the 3 at the back system that they seem to play they sometimes get run ragged. Must be bloody hard work being a back 3 player at Liverpool actually because none of the pansies that Rodgers puts in front of them can do the job correctly. Lucas is the best of them and he's iffy at best.
  9. Wenger has spoken of this today (or yesterday) wants to sign a new DM and pair him with Coquelin when necessary and with others when a more attacking formation is required. Whether he'd go to our price for Morgan remains to be seen.
  10. Why not, although he'll be entering his last contract year (I think) and we'll probably be looking to offload him for a couple of quid, same as we did with Cork. Also noted that Osvaldo seems to be in line for a return to the Italy side for next month's games, not quite sure what his situation is at Boca though because their season isn't the same as ours.
  11. I would agree with that actually, apart from our 2 wingbacks there's not much oomph on display from our AMs as a rule. Djuricic could change that, quick and seems to have an IQ a bit above that of a plank of wood.
  12. First innings lead but we seem to have gotten held up by a tail slogger so no doubt the match will only be drawn tomorrow.
  13. So unless he gets a run out on Sunday, which I somehow doubt, the "out for the season" pundits were right. That's a long long time even for cruciate ligament damage.
  14. No great achievement really, 90 or so percent of the PO postcode population can't read anyway.
  15. He did look distinctly better than I'd seen before, perhaps being a few goals to the good helped his confidence to try things that he might not at 0-0.
  16. It's got nothing to do with the EPL, it's because the rules are being sidestepped everywhere.
  17. They probably get a government handout for employing a former juvenile delinquant though.
  18. Liverpool will be alright next season as long as the old crock stays away and doesn't keep hanging around criticising all and sundry and IF they sign a real striker, it's about all they need. This season Rodgers signed two duds so it's no real surprise that they don't score.
  19. Induction is top notch, bit of an outlay for the appropriate pots and pans and then it's more economic I think.
  20. Tidy start from the new lad, 3 ov 6 runs 1 wkt.
  21. And thern you'd have a non-FIFA affiliated Super league started up within days of that decision. it's what happened in cricket, Murdoch didn't like the rules so he made up his own.
  22. Thus earning tons of goodwil from the popular press.
  23. Well it's the PSG type of financial montage that's at the base of the problem, same as Citeh. Any owner with financial clout and diversified interests can knock up something credible that gives them an advantage over clubs that can't. There are also a few legal challenges to the fact that an authority like UEFA can prevent owners doing whatever they like with their money and their enterprise. The rules are going to be lightened apparently because as they stand all they're doing is widening the gap between the tricky dicky owners and those that are more ethical. Don't forget that Etihad Airways invest more than their annual global profit in Citeh ever season.
  24. Apparently it's too discriminatory, not really working and Platini wants to change it in some way or other. Will probably only effect UEFA FFP for the time being.
