I would have thought that Mitchell was in the category of staff who can leave whenever he wants provided that he gives the contractually agreed notice period. Depends whether he's on a fixed term contract or not I suppose.
-
Even the bloke who carried out the enquiy is saying that now. Qatar should be banned from anything and everything. They'll soon have more toubles that the 22 WC to think about.
-
As I've said on another thread, L'Equipe says we knocked back an offer of 34 million € for him in August but I really don't know how factual that actually is. 34 million € is about 28 million £ I think.
-
There's another interesting article on L'Equipe today about underated players of which Morgan is deemed as one, anyway there's an interesting line in it which states that Saints knocked back an offer from Arsenal in August for 34 million€. Don't ask me where they get that from but it's certainly a new information, true or untrue, L'Equipe rarely writes baseless crap but whether they've got that right or not I just couldn't say.

Absolutely right, a really good but sober DM sponges up a lot of mistakes that most people don't even notice, he also is always there to receive an out ball from anyone under pressure. When you don't have one then little mistakes turn into disasters and a bit of pressure on the back four is a one way highway. Until Rodgers leaves Gerrard out or moves him forward and puts Lucas in his place then they'll be in the shîtter.

You can make a case for anyone who you think is a respectable performer but if their efforts do not improve the results of the team, ie W,L or D not whether they get beaten 1 nil or 10 nil, then their performances count for nothing because the team is in itself bad, be it because some of the players are bad or the manager doesn't have a dicky what he's doing or has failed to instill the correct team spirit in the players. Look at us last season, we were only as good at the end of the day as Gazzaniga and Jos at times. What I believe we are seeing in the PL at the moment is a sort of equilibriation of "bad players", everybody gets enough money not to have donkeys all over the pitch although some teams haven't yet weeded out all of their crap.
-
Insomuch as anyone playing in a team that's lost 7 out of their last 8 games can be described as "OK" I presume. There are no good players in bad teams. Every player is eventually dragged down to the level of the mass.

2 years come June 2015

I've seen the actual interview, he said nothing about anything much, just that all remained to be seen next summer, nothing ruled out, nothing ruled in. This is all he said on the subject. AFP

So anyway it won't happen at any time in the near future, they won't lose against Latvia and even if they did the Dutch FA probably couldn't afford to pay us off. Stand down, as you were.

So maybe having a translator was good for us?

I watched them yesterday, they either just don't have a clue what they're supposed to be doing or (and this is my hot favourite) they're just incapable of doing it. They don't keep posession because some dumb ferk always tries to do something that just isn't on, they don't recover the ball quickly, they don't press effectively and the don't defend very well because they don't track back quickly and leave their team-mate isolated most of the time, plus they can't score for toffee. As I said yesterday if I was Poch I'd tell Levy where to stick his job because it's impossible with the shower of shîte that they have. -
In fact their squad is probably not good enough to implement any given system, bunch of wasters, if I was Poch I'd jack it in and look for another job whilst I was sort of ahead.
-
Unsurprising, he looked absolutely out of his depth when I watched them against Swansea the other week.
-
Wait and see, they are shîte, Championship side full of championship players. NPC sides used to come up and wreak havoc on occasions, this season they're only here for the money.
-
Same as every November and April for the last 6 years then.
-
Meagre win then, I expect us to score at least 5 (well OK then at least 3), Leicester are crap, relegation fodder along with the other 2 promoted sides. Think it might be a 3 of 3 relegation scenario for the promoted sides this season, proving that the financial gap has now become too wide to bridge.
-
So basically the POTM is that which scores the most goals. Ferking ROTR mentality still exists then.
-
More like a dutch auction where the punters actually paid the ridiculously elevated prices asked.
-
Ah I don't know, think Rodgers may have written this one off and has prioritised the Chelsea game along with the next 2 CL games which they'd seem to have a better chance (on paper at least) of winning and thus gaining a qualification. Expect most of the missing "first teamers" to be back on Saturday. I'd still leave Gerrard out though.
-
Wouldn't get into the side at Saints so what would be the point anyway. Great work by the "board" in getting a smart 5 million for him whilst he had some sort of value. Same as Shaw and Lallana, none of them were worth the price we got for them.
-
Never mind, anything that gives them even the minutest of chance of taking a point off Chelsea on Saturday is all in the plus column of the ledger for us really.
-
Got suspended didn't he ? Everton game perhaps.
-
That would spoli his record though, been booked in every round of the C1C so far, strange that, only 1 booking in the PL and 3 in the C1C.
-
But Carragher played no part in their "success" last season, it was all about Suarez and Sturridge, both now unavailable and they're distinctly average, makes sense, when you truncate a side of players capable of scoring nigh on 60 goals a season then you are ferked for not only did they score a lot they got hauled down in the penalty box a lot as well and Gerrard scored 12 penalties or something.
