  1. Half decent ? plenty would want to come here, but not those who are pursued actively by Utd and their former national coach.
  2. right, thought it was something you learnt in infants school, Manchester Utd targets don't sign for Saints.
  3. and thanks to our resident Widow Twànky for this excellent advice.
  4. Did anyone ever have any hopes of signing him...really?
  5. How did he get on with the Argentine justice over supposedly hitting someone over the head with a bottle, perhaps they let him off à la Lee Barnard. Old happening, recent case apparently.
  6. More specifically players that will enable us to amass 40 points in our soon to start 2014/15 PL campaign and thus avoid relegation to a lower level where money is less forthcoming.
  7. Quite rightly, they were awful, then again they only had a scratch side out, pot boiler I suppose.
  8. Tomorrow by all accounts, well press speculation anyway. Don't know how long the rest of them are in the US for though.
  9. A bit of maybe parade p*ssing on here, sorry lads but I'm hearing he's being lined up to replace Jérémy Mathieu at Valence. Talks ongoing though.
  10. Lille is an excellent finishing school for young footballers, now I don't know if all or even any of the rare talents that they've produced of late come from their "Centre de Formation" but they do churn good players out.
  11. Some other solid performances as well today, slowed a bit now but we should still make 350+, not even our bowliers can cock that up right ?
  12. Well as I might have hypothesised back in May the book value of the club had probably been overtaken by it's liabilities. By selling some of our crown jewels and replacing them with less expensive but in theory still substantial players wouldn't the value to debt ratio be re-established and still leave a saleable club with some sort of solid base. I still think that the club will be up for sale within the next 6 months or so once the debt purge has ended. It won't be a popular theory of course but I've read elsewhere that I am not the unique prophet of this outcome.
  13. No that's the end of BullShïtTime. It's the start of reality time. Good enough or not, we shall see then.
  14. Would have been stupid team orders anyway, Rosberg was nowhere near him and didn't look much faster. Just more German whining I expect.
  15. Well he's finally got into overdrive again today, took a while but probably worth the wait.
  16. Perhaps the "subject of ridicule" might be more appropriate....unless you're it's banker of course.
  17. Did we not receive a bid for him in January ? I'm sure that we were told yesterday (or Friday) that we did, same club, similar sum by all accounts. So it's unlikely that he's just found out about anything. 2 options.....we wanted the money rather than the player or RK didn't want to keep him. Then again you can rule out option 2 by re-reading Koeman's interview 2 weeks or so back " I want to keep all of the players"... Never did find out if Gaston was really on the transfer list though. I said I am the new manager and I’d like to keep all the players, and Dejan is an important player in an important position. 18. Nope, same old, same old WI jumble sale.
  19. thought Lacazette was their preferred back up option...could be wrong, other clubs know that we're in shîte street for some reason or other and will keep picking us over until anything useful has gone and been replaced by a Dutchman.
  20. Not strange logic at all, I expect them to win, can't see why they should lose.
  21. Why should they lose if these blokes are so great ?
  22. that's not really the point. Inter seem to be intent on test and try before you buy and we aren't interested in that at all seemingly. Thought it would be a good opportunity to shift him out as soon as possible myself. We aren't going to get major interest in the bloke you know..
  23. so what, he doesn't control the sales, probably not even the prices. Probably doesn't even control the purchases either. He is not in charge of club policy, of that I'm sure, neither is Krusty the Clown, who does that leave then? I make it Hofstadter and the owner herself, unless of course you lend any importance to the CEO.
  24. But hw do you know what he has done and what he hasn't done really. Perhaps he genuinely believes we were not going to sell players or had even received offers. Most of us know nothing whatsoever about how the organigram of the club is structured. Perhaps LR just gets to make the tea and fetch the papers and explain odd things to the press as best he can. Now Hofstadter what does he do, bet he's controlling the purse strings, seems to have been a big of a business big shot.
  25. not so sure there, doubt if either Pelle or Tadic are on huge amounts, don't think the Dutch league pays very well so even mediocre PL salaries might be a considerable step up for them.
