  1. ah but did you then march from the Bargate to SMS to express your resentment of the powers that were? Come what may we were reduced to 12000 or so home gates and that's counting the ST holders.
  2. What like in 2008 you mean. That is the ultimate proof that there is a limit to all things as far as football supporting is concerned. Dutch Duo, Lowe,Wilde, team of kids....very unpopular squire.
  3. I don't want anyone that's not given basic proofs in a top national league, Dutch football is poor in general. There are managers I'd much rather have, like Laudrup as I said. My short list for what it's worth would be Laudrup,Poyet,Puel in that order.
  4. Unproven in the PL..no thanks. Laudrup would be my choice, won't want to come for a shoestring budget though.
  5. If Mauricio goes to Tottenham then you can only assume it's because our board were unwilling or unable to do what was required to keep him here because I'm convinced that he wouldn't want to go there otherwise. We have had a few players saying what they thought ought to be done, number 1 was signing Pochettino to a new contract come what may cost wise. As for selling players Shaw looks to be gone, do you think Pochettino didn't want him to stay. Schneiderlin is as good as gone, he's openly come out and said he wants to go but isn't going to ask for a move. There again I doubt that Pochettino wanted to get rid of him. Then there are the issues of Cork and Fonte with Cork saying no-one has approached him about a new deal even though he could in theory walk away for free next summer.
  6. Not such a bad thing if you fancy a quicky in a chilly place...take it from me.
  7. As long as come August they don't wheel out Hunter and tell me he's "the right man for the job" there's plenty of time yet.
  8. Can you not see that it's not about contracts, it's about ambition. What's the point of a 5 year contract at 80K a week if it's to have a choice between 2 not very good academy kids at GK or CB or whatever. MP would have stayed with us (and still might) if the board had been willing to spend what is necessary not to have the awful Gazzaniga in goal ever again, not to have to play Jos accident waiting to happen Hooiveld and not have a 19 year old leggy bambi poncing about at CF because you have no other choice. Any manager worth the name would reject those conditions if he had a better offer.
  9. Absolutely, they've been told enough times by players what needs to be done. Just clueless, all they want is to have a maximum number of kids in the Unders England sides so that Les Reed can get an OBE or something for services to English football, (oh and probably spend a minimum of money and make a maximum profit). Probably why Dodd and Williams got the boot, only 1 player in the England U17s.
  10. Glasgow makes himself scarce, probably not voluntarily, Saint Charlie is up and at us every 20 seconds or so. Coincidence is a strange thing is it not.
  11. Honestly, we earned nigh on 80 million £ from the PL last season, round about 20 million in ticket sales plus the other bits and bobs. If the board can't give the manager a decent operating budget out of all that then I hope they have a bloody good reason.
  12. We won't get De Boer, don't fool yourself.
  13. Which is why he's 5/1 on favourite really, that's approaching past the post odds I believe.
  14. Well I'm sure that I'll be subconciously watching those with one blue boot and one pink boot. Puma wearers I believe, i hope Adam has had the decency to reject that promotion for the time being. Then there are the Adidas black and white "trompe l'oeil" design...awful.
  15. Well I don't know but if Arena was indeed appointed manager even I'd be tempted by the 14/1 relegation odds.
  16. As I've told you all on several occasions the French are just hacked off with their successive governments and the totally incompetent Hollande in particular. They are fed up with having 5 million unemployed, with a third of the population on 850£ a month take home minimum wage although the employers pay three times that at the end of the day. They are fed up with droves of veiled women hanging about on every market place and shopping mall, doing nothing and getting more in benefits that those doing 40 hour weeks and they want out of Europe because they're hacked off about Brussels (and the Germans) telling them what to do.
  17. Nope we can't afford to have him hanging around because he is garbage and MP obviously wants nothing to do with him. We can't loan him out in the Uk because of work permit considerations so we need to be hunting down another band of suckers in europe to take him off our hands.
  18. So do about 3 million brummies
  19. Why does Ancelotti even come into this equation ? He's not going to dump PSG for Real and then dump Real for Tottenham after 1 season.
  20. No it can't, with the social charges PSG have the highest wage bill on the planet. They're at over 200 million euros/annum, plus social taxes
  21. Well you get 2 extra pay days to help you fund your survival campaign. Not to be sniffed at the gains from a play-off final.
  22. It's what he pays his money for really. He invests, he gets his share of the limelight when they do something notable. Rich people used to invest in explorations, arts, strange quests. Now they invest in football.
  23. Rope a dope, usually works if your keeper and defenders keep their end up. Green played well I thought.
  24. they remind me of a salvation army hostel with their awful haircuts.
  25. Pffff we're just doing them a service so that they don't have to admit that they couldn't afford our players and are now seeking cheap similar players from all 4 corners of the globe.
