I just assumed that their respective performances had been judged insufficient, nothing more sinister than that.

and yet his results at Reading are highly discutable. If the Russian wallah hadn't left them in limbo Adkins would have been sacked by now. Redknapp got his vastly reduced team back up, Adkins didn't even make the play-offs, mainly due to some very, very, poor results, like the home draw with 8 man yeovil. He is not a PL manager as of yet and probably never ever will be.

Morgan Called Up for France WC Squad (Official)
Window Cleaner replied to St Chalet's topic in The Saints
there are only 6 reserves now anyway and there are a fair few players with apparently minor injuries, like Mangala and Ribery. Morgan might get half an hour at the end I suppose. -
And that's probably for a good reason, we don't want him here.
-
who knows, apparently Van Gaal is changing most of Utd's recruitment plans and Lallana looks to be too expensive for Liverpool. Whether they have any other options in view I just couldn't say really.
-
Still waiting for someone to prove that to me actually, if our owner is so bloody rich why can't she just chuck money at the club like every other mega rich owner in world football. They're all in difficult financial situations, none of them give a toss. Look at PSG, UEFA tell them they've been naughty boys and have to rein in their spending, so they go and chuck 50 million euros at Chelsea for Luiz.

I see we're looking for a new Academy analyst, does that mean that Fran has gone or that the first team analyst has gone and she's been promoted..or none of these things.
-
contrary to the mass flow I actually think he did a decent job at Brighton and again at Sunderland. Sorting out the mess Di Canio left wasn't easy I'd think but he got them to safety with some decent performances.
-
Why would that be exactly, there is absolutely no reason for him to be among the leading would be candidates for the as yet non-existent job at SFC.
-
I wouldn't mind Poyet at all.
-
not by people who know football he wasn't, Adkins on the other hand..lower league no hoper.
-
jeez no, I just hope he was there buying a yacht, meeting a tart or something. If we sign Hughton it's because we're preparing for life in the Championship again.
-
Indeed, have any club ever succeded in holding a manager to his contract, it's not the same as for players. The club does not hold their registration, managers can resign, isn't that what we wanted Adkins to do at first.
-
I'd still like to think he'll stay but that if he doesn't it would only be because the ambition that he was sold 18 months back no longer exists.

Who from the first team would you sell to raise funds?
Window Cleaner replied to ozzmeister's topic in The Saints
Why do we need to sell players to raise funds. We had over 100 million £ in revenue last season. Selling those who are useless to us will be quite enough, anyone would think the owner needs to take money out of the club and as many of you have assured me that that is not the case there's no reason to sell players is there. -
it's 2 million £, everybody knows that. We aren't in a position to ask for 10 million.
-
And in top flight football circles 2 million £ is nothing, nothing at all.
-
Either Ralph obviously wanted to be top dog or any respectable candidate for the job didn't want to be playing second fiddle to an ice hockey gab artist who obviously had the ear of the owner...
-
perhaps we can get an Ice Hockey manager then, perhaps Ralph fancies the job himself. Must be crap hot at it because Canada without him got overturned by the French in the recent World Championship. Must have been a case of poor team, great consultant and motivator at the Olympics then.
-
Well i guess we'll be reading about that on the OS soon then.

Agents can talk to whoever they like about hypothetical positions of managers and players. The manager never speaks to the club involved until he's given permission to do so. The agent does all the spade work for him based on the hypothesis that he would eventually be prepared to accept certain conditions. It's football, the days when Clough and Taylor went round knocking on doors of a sunday morning are long gone.
-
So what are we going to do with all then ? Don't understand that at all.
-
Spurs,Brighton, Swindon I think, might prefer south to north.
-
and why would that be then ?
-
Of course, I'm a great admirer, but to me he is beyond our reach just now. If we don't have the funds to keep Pochettino then we certain won't have to attract top quality like Benitez, especially as there will be a lot to pay to Naples as likely as not. 4 posts in 7 years, you'll have the ITK detection brigade out on that one then.
