  1. Of course, unless he'd really set his stall out for a move to a top 4 club, he's mid-career and in the limelight just now. If we're going to push on so much the better but if we're just going to drift along and be happy with 8th,9th 10 th places he may well not be over content.
  2. I don't think it's about Liverpool meeting our valuation, they think it's too high, it's not their problem if we have to give 25% to Bournemouth. The player is worth about 18/20 million, that's what they'd probably be prepared to pay. If we insist on 25 million they'll just look elsewhere, whether Adam will be happy to stay or not is to be seen. Some really solid performances in the Wc might persuade them to go to a bit more but the lad has to get into the team first.
  3. Same old rumour every summer, why can't we just use the Sinclair that we already have.
  4. Indeed we seem to be really pushing on now, 3 wins, 3 draws..mostly because of rain. Top of the table although we've played a game more.
  5. Well I did suggest that the owner has run out of spending money, got heartily slagged off for it though.
  6. Well I personally think that Mauricio would have achieved his aims. He's got a year left, he doesn't want to be landed with a crap team next season. He's never spoken publicly about Tottenham either way. If he signs a new contract then you have to assume it was better than the old one and he'd had his say on team strengthening.
  7. The U18s got knocked out of the FA Youth cup by Charlton, fairly earlier round. Not sure we didn't lose 3-1 at home or similar. Not surprised myself, not a great fan of Dodd, never forgiven him for being so crap when he was co-managing with Gorman. God we were awful.
  8. does his contract not end in June 2016 then ?
  9. Perhaps Mauricio sees him as I do, great prospect, not the finished article, there's better for less and this way with the swans gents if you please. I'd certainly sell Shaw to fund the project.
  10. Why is Nicola in Milan then, thought he moved back to Ennetbaden.
  11. OK so let him get on with it and let's get those swans to spend on our team. Totally replaceable as a left back tbh. The board need to man up, admit that he's a gonner, secure all of the rest and buy the 3 or 4 players that we need to really move on to the next level. Just do not see the sense of beating about the bush any more, he's gone OK, move on. Kurzawa or the other Franco Pole from Nice, a striker, a keeper and a CB. Mauricio signs on the dotted line, everybody goes to the WC or on their hols, see you in July.
  12. Depends just how much money the "board" have available to invest. Perhaps it's not a case of will not but can not.
  13. Unsurprising, must really have fancied his chances of making the WC squad, in 4 years who knows, we might well have sunk back into obscurity by then and not be the be all and end all of England team selection. I noticed that Morgan told the french press yesterday that Mauricio has made him a completely different player.
  14. Probably more than one or two actually but as far as I can surmise most of the distinctly antis have had their nose put out of joint by Cortese in some way or other. Obviously a hard man to work for, then again anyone who implemented a strict work ethic might suffer the same reaction in the UK.
  15. Neither AFAIK, it was just a link that someone posted further up (or down depends which way you read the threads I guess).
  16. Jorge Jesus is 59
  17. Well yes, "things" happen at a rate of millions every nanosecond on a continual basis. Almost none of them have anything to do with Saint's manager situation though.
  18. Yakin is rumoured to be going to Bastia strangely enough, bit of a step down for him I'd think.
  19. I would like that, means that we'll definitely finish above them next season.
  20. Why, have we asked to be voluntarily retrograded to the Championship ?
  21. Odds are shortening on both of them, yesterday it was Mancini, day before that Benitez, a while back some other Italian bloke, I do wonder if the bookies give Spurs a cut on their profits for drawing the affair out for months on end.
  22. Virtually no-one now but I was once. ....OSA/famous people, same thing, gabbing is not welcomed.
  23. Well it does but as in football etc you need to have some basic continuity over a given period there tends to be a greater use of fixed term contracts than elsewhere. Employment law remains the same but it just avoids your senior players, managers etc giving a month or 3 months notice and wandering off into the sunset leaving you with a very specific role to fill. No doubt for non sporting roles contracts are for an indeterminate period as per usual.
  24. Yes, put me down for that.
  25. Thanks for that but when you are related to relatively famous people you tend to learn not to gab about them, you just fend off the questions politely.
