  1. oh yes Naismith, when did Fletcher last play for Utd out of interest, Scottish football is dying, Saints have 3 scottish full internationals? I mean there's Fox but he doesn't play and will soon be gone, who are the others, I don't mean snotty nosed kids I mean real full internationals who actually play for Scotland and their clubs.
  2. are there any actually Scottish internationals playing at "big" clubs in England ? All I can see is Palace/Norwich/Cardiff type clubs.
  3. Right a player nearly out of contract, agent's nightmare...start putting out wild rumours everywhere...it's what agents do and there's no better way of vehiculing them than Tuttomercato. We will not sign Feghouli, count on it. Anyway he seems to have quite a bit of contract left, June 2016 apparently. He's not playing much so his agent is trying to get him a move that's all.
  4. I remember him from Grenoble, wasn't bad there but whether he can up his game to PL standards is something else. Still think we can do far better than a Valencia sub for what will be quite a lot of money.
  5. Diego would encounter work permit problems so I'd think we'd avoid that.
  6. One Neil McCann in a lifetime is quite enough thanks.
  7. If we're going to do our shopping at Valencia I can't see us settling for second best really. Poch obviously wants Banega so why tart about with the vastly inferior Feghouli. Agent bollix.
  8. He's been bought out by a group of investors for 10 million euros (approx) and rented out to Santos. Has had a relatively poor season for Internacionale.
  9. Is that not how Einstein (or so say some) defined Insanity ?
  10. neither have scored so far this season, Victor's shooting leaves about as much to be desired as Jack's really. For a big unit Victor doesn't seem to do much at corners and stuff, well not on the attacking side anyway.
  11. if we're talking about Ghoulam and Hamouma from St Etienne they might well be OK in the PL after a suitable period of adaptation because the basics are still infused at StE, if we're talking about crap like Pïtroipa then certainly not. What you need to avoid when signing players from France are those who do not have EU nationality because if they take longer than a certain while to adapt you can't loan them out to the NPC to get realistic UK experience because of work permit regulations. Mayuka would have been much better off in the NPC, same as T Lee but it can't happen very easily..
  12. well I don't watch every minute of every Sochaux game that's for sure but I've seen them a couple of times lately, when they got spanked by PSG last week and against Bastia, Mayuka really is just a non entity in a team of non-entities. He does absolutely feck all most of the time, Ligue 1 is of an incredibly poor standard this season apart from Qatar and NoTax Haven Fcs of course. You only have to look at results like Marseille and Lyon in the CL and Nice,St Etienne and Bordeaux in the Europa League to know that. Even PSG without their Italo-Brazilian-Swedish contingent got hammered by Benfica in the CL last night. French domestic football is a joke, only Matuidi (PSG) and Valbuena (Marseille) of the national side play in France because of the ridiculously high "social charges" drawn from every salaried employment. Bog standard french clubs just cannot afford good players any more.
  13. he doesn't play well most of the time, you cannot imagine just how bad Sochaux really are. They've won 1 game (out of 17) this season, 5 draws 11 defeats. They've scored 13 goals and conceded 37. Winning player of the month at Sochaux is a non-achievement.
  14. the one with the NUFC tattoo looks like Andy Carroll
  15. Our U18s could probably beat Pompey's first team actually, Pompey are a non-entity who should have ceased to exist long before now. It is absolute ridiculous that an erstwhile PL status obtained with money that they never had has guaranteed their continuing existence to build up more debt and rip more people off. Courts should have been firm with them, taken the PPs and paid back more to former creditors with them. A travesty of justice.
  16. It's Sochaux, any player who wins a tackle or has a shot on goal is as likely as not to win player of the month there. A truly awful outfit, no money, no players, no idea. Mayuka would get better experience in the NPC but that would cause work permt problems I think. That's the trouble with these lads with work permits, you can't loan them out in the UK without getting a new permit for the loan (unless the rules have been modified of late).
  17. I don't know if the height-weight statistics that you get on various stat sites are correct but if they are then Victor at 1m88 for 76 kgs must have a pretty fragile bone structure because he looks pretty solid so his bones must be relatively light.
  18. Nah, not really, just the village idiot. If Bearsy took a girl's knickers off it would be to make a catapult with the elastic.
  19. Difficult to say on the tackles/fouls ratio for Victor and Jack simply because Jack has played so little this season. However on the only stats available Jack commits a foul for every 5 tackles and Victor has a ratio of 1 for 2. Must admit that Jack looked pretty deft in his interventions against Citeh but that could well change when he's up against the stereotype bruisers that they have in midfield at Stoke, West Brom and West Ham. The Victor/Morgan partnership does sometimes look a little less fluid than the one we had last year but it got some good results all the same..
  20. Yes, I watched the game, we looked a bit iffy in the first half though, don't think we achieved positive yards for about the first 20 minutes.
  21. not bad from 3 away and 1 home then
  22. Bournemouth Saint worked for Barclays, probably in Poole..or as far as I remember he did anyway. Think he actually turned up in Dubai once whilst on some mission or other for them. So if he is now the obviously out of work Robbie Box type now inhabiting Glasgow he must have suffered some great downturn in fortune I suppose.
  23. haven't studied their apparent demise much but it would seem to me that one of their principal problems is that Van Persie is playing less and scoring less. Must have won quite a few matches last season with Van Persie goals late on in games. Same problem for Spurs I think, Baled (??) out late on a few times.
  24. probably get a wild card and come up against the Iggles in the first round of the play offs.
  25. what even Artur ? That's good news then.
