  1. perhaps on other occasions yes but in those 2 incidents all that was needed was to steer the ball away at the appropriate moment. Just a warm up game so it's of no great import unless it happens in a real game. Then again Boruc would probably have held onto the first shot for the first goal.
  2. probably because of some quirky clause in the "Universal Fair Treatment for Nutjobs and Whackos Act of 1988"
  3. probably why it's 8 quid then. So if err 9000 of you go and Eastleigh give us all of the money we can pay them all this week. How we can support 70K a week'ish for players who contribute nothing and are never likely to contribute anything further just beats me. We need to ship them out even if it means subsiding them. Because if we don't and we don't have 25 over 21 first team players we'll have to name the appropriate number in our PL squad...PL rules
  4. probably put in a few crunching tackles in training to show our CBs how it's done, especially after they conceded 2 soft goals on Wednesday. Bet Poch wouldn't have conceded either of them even at 40 odd.
  5. no talk about Hulk and Monaco on L'Equipe TV though , which is strange cos PSG and Monaco is all they talk about. If there was anything to say about Hulk they'd be saying it. There's a nightly feature of about 10 minutes "Cashico" which is exclusively about the two of them .
  6. They don't need Hulk, they have Falcao
  7. I wasn't particularly impressed with Wanyama's early contribution in the game the other day, seemed to get a lot more involved in the second half after Morgan came on though. Cork was invisible.
  8. which won't happen if you insist on using players of the quality of Chaplow and De Ridder. Some seeem to have difficulty seizing just how mediocre these blokes were..or are rather.
  9. bet he doesn't end up sweeping up in a fast food though. Good film, before Eddie Murphy started overacting.
  10. and Sharp,Hammond and De Ridder played a lot of first team football for us last season did they. All of the players who are being moved on were already surplus to requirements last season. I'd be surprised if they played the equivalent of 2 full PL games between them . No point keeping hold of players who just aren't up to the level, it's frustrating for them and costly for the club.
  11. Blokes like Rush and Aldridge would probably have difficulty getting a game now let alone score shedloads of goals. Football has moved on since their day. Which is why clubs are falling over themselves to pay 59 milion for Suarez and Cavani and not sign up lads from Birkenhead U18s or whatever it is. As for Hooper we shall see shortly won't we. Sharp was limited in the NPC last season and will never ever make the grade in the EPL.
  12. probably because of the number of credit checks being run  Aren't too many supposed to be nocive ?
  13. Valencia will want transfers to go through before the 4th of August...some sort of tax reason or other. So it's soon or probably not at all...which is the most likely. Still like to see something in the full back line myself, in addition to a top striker of course. Just don't have the confidence in Shaw that the rest of you seem to have. Mainly because I don't expect him to play much more than 25 games in the season and to me Fox is just a disaster (or disasters) waiting to happen.
  14. do you actually write for Janes Alps ?
  15. Indeed, the higher the level the more difficult goals are to come by. Keepers are better and defenders don't leave sloppy balls hanging about the area that you just have to toe punt in. We saw that on Wednesday, neither of their goal occasions should have existed and wouldn't have with good defenders in fully functional mode. That's where blokes like Sharp and Hooper fall down, the type of chances they score just don't exist in top level football. Chances have to be crafted and then clinically finished. Until we have a striker capable of that we'll be mediocre.
  16. Ramirez I doubt, Lambert will probably want to leave when he finds out he's not first choice any more.
  17. is there not a GCS project which resemble strangely the Franco-Italian FREMMs (of which the Aquitaine is the first) ?
  18. Marine Nationale, are the navy building anything modern just now though ?
  19. a real frigate.. had a personalised tour of her the other day, incredibly complex. Operated by a really reduced crew of about 90, mind you half of them are PhDs and MScs.
  20. defending not enough of it it I hope then.
  21. well they've been trying to sign him these last 2 years so I'd guess that they've just given up the chase and moved on to targets they can actually sign. Got a feeling we're missing out on strikers who'd improve us whilst we run after the unreachable for some reason or other.
  22. I'm going to go for Wanyama...next season's Gaston methinks.
  23. not that it's particularly relevant here but I see that Hibs demonstrated the exact quality of Scottish football against Malmo last evening.
  24. so does that mean that "the family" took back some of their invested £sss ?
  25. not last season though.
