  2. Been to games in the Milton where it was even a bit hard to breathe, sardines had plenty of space in their cans compared to us, and those abdomen high barriers when everyone surged forward ouchy ouchy.Used to stand behind my then girlfriend cos she had the buffers.
  3. Clyne has a major championship to play in though, no point in sacrificing him for a little pot boiler friendly against Ireland.
  4. Richardson will be out of contract, Lee and Hammond aren't. The retained list is very much a thing of the past. Players who have contracts will stay or be sold and those who don't err won't. No need to make a list for that, contract dates are easy enough to find. Chaplow has disappeared though which is strange if he really did have a contract extension until 2014, don't know about De Ridder but he's crap anyway. Perhaps they're just no longer on the first team squad.
  5. he could very shortly but he doesn't want to do that. Same as many before him, Arteta for instance. Approached at one time but turned England down because it just didn't seem the right thing to do. Never played at full international level which is a total travesty when you look at some of the knobs playing for Wales and Scotland.
  6. Had a decent season in the Seconds last year, scored a few runs, came from Minor Counties cricket before that, guess we're short on batsman because Bailey is with Australia for some competiton or other and McKenzie isn't here as yet.
  7. they were certainly a bit niffy. Don't think they even gave us tickets, you just paid the guy at the turnstile and walked on in.
  8. They should never have appointed me in the first place if they wanted a decent team.
  9. Ajax aren't very good anyway, it's a **** poor league and games against teams like Willem 2 are like a week off at the Club Med
  10. don't, it's an unpopular opinion cos Lambert well he's god innit..
  11. what difference will it make anyway, crap weather, will be a draw with each side getting about 8 points.
  12. had a good start to the season I think but now our problem seems to be one day mentality in the top order. Although today we needed quick runs because of yesterday's washout.
  13. Can't think of many that changed the result, Villa away maybe but I still don't see that as not a penalty.
  14. because the admin won't control the trolls who aren't even interested in Saints.
  15. Top 10 = the 2 woeful Gazza giveaways and not conceeding at the last minute at Wigan due to a schoolboy error from err a schoolboy. 47 points we would have had so I think that at least getting 50 isn't an unrealistic target. In fact we can probably all pinpoint little things that might have given us 50 points already. Not closing down Bale at Whte Hart Lane, Morgan would probably have done that, might have got a red though. Adkins and his KD mania No Cork Missed chances that were easier to convert than miss Fox It's not an ideal world but there are a lot of little things that can be corrected fairly simply to bring us to 50 points. Top 8 will do for me.
  16. Monaco of course, reconversion into management afterwards. Anyway he doesn't lke playing at LB, he's a central defender.
  17. 12 goals, the sort of total Lallana should be targetting instead of his woeful 3.
  18. Top Order crumbling again 80/4, promotion yer avin a larf. Roll on McKenzie
  19. I don't think so, he's a presence in the box and that's what we need, we're good at getting the ball into the box and then wasting it.
  20. of course it isn't . We could get there with about 50 million in expenditure if the 5 or 6 players that we'd need didn't have a choice of us or a CL/EL club, that's what holding us back partly because of the mentality of national team selectors . Take Younes Belhanda for instance, twice the player that Lallana will ever be and probably available for around 8 million and a reasonable wage say 40 a week but he wants to play in the CL if at all possible next season and as there are plenty of absolutely average Russian,Portuguese,Belgian and Turkish sides who possess that sesame we probably couldn't get him.,
  21. Carroll is a far better player than Lambert, whether anyone chooses to admit it or not is another matter. If I had the choice of Carroll or Lambert as princial striker at Saints it would be an absolute no contest. Plus Carroll's defensive contribution is by far superior.
  22. And some even question Cork apparently.
