it's not just that, they all want to stay up but he does some good stuff, just needs a finishing touch.
-
Lallana won't be dropped, don't know why anyone might think he would be.
-
probably something to do with them being eternally grateful for the 2 million windfall we gave them for Gazza. They can pay Forecast 3K a week for a couple of years and still be laughing all the way to the bank.
-
Lallana contributes some good stuff early on, trouble is neither he nor anyone else can finish any of it. Three or four things he did in the first half on Saturday should have brought definite goal chances but he can't shoot under pressure and no-one got onto any of the crosses. Lallana would be a different player with a really potent (at PL level) striker in front of him.
-
but a point would take us above Villa anyway because they're going to get their collective ass kicked by Chelsea on Saturday. If Wigan beat them it wouldn't matter to us. We need a point and everything becomes virtually definitive.

Lambert hasn't scored from open play for 8 games!

He's not become a bad player overnight no, but I'd say he's lost a yard or two of late and he's never been the fastest in the realm either. Just not getting on the end of anything at all. -

as I said in the build up thread, he'd get nothing when faced with Vertonghen and Dawson, good free kick though. We really do need to sort out our striker situation before next season. I know it's obvious but the best sides in the PL have the best strikers. -
but if Swansea were to win then all the nervous nellies would have to shut the f*ck up,at least for this season, wouldn't that be better than finishing a place higher ?
-
about right, always saying how he feels trapped by snooker.

depends what kind of duck though. -
knee didn't look to great on Saturday.
-
not enough top class strikers to go round that's why. Man U, Citeh and even Arsenal have more than their fair share but they still want everybody else's. Ridiculous for one team to have Chicharito,Van Persie, Welbeck and Rooney and Norwich to have just Grant Holt.
-
then we need to change our team to make him fit.

so SWF is stuck in a lift on it's way up to the stratosphere is that it ? Those CFC propellant gases have a lot to answer for. In my day it was ammonium compounds which could be used as fertilisers being produced by thunderstorms, Born-Harber cycle or some crap like that. To each generation it's chemical problems.

Think I can help here. When you want to win you've to score more goals than you let in. Sounds like 1st grade arithmetic to me.
-
with a bit of luck Swansea will beat or hold to a draw Wigan tomorrow evening and then it will all be over bar the fat lady cos the Arse will crap on Wigan so to speak. Any game against Arsenal,Chelsea or Spurs is virtually lost in advance until they decide the 3rd 4th and 5th places.
-
yep, they'll be keen to plumet down the table and even (in theory) not be "safe" with Utd away up next and Fulham who could be desperate by then on the last day of the season. Being kind to Martinez could in theory cost Swansea 5 million £ or so. Wigan will be stuck between a rock and hard pace for this game they need to win but the won't want to get injured before Saturday. Draw would suit us fine though.
-
unless Spurs get roundly beaten by Chelsea on Wednesday, assuming of course Chelsea don't lose today. That would be the best solution for us actually, Chelsea to get beaten by Utd and then beat Spurs. Puts them back to back for the last day.

we shoot but we don't score. Lambert's 2 free-kicks were outside the box though. Thought we did a lot of good work yesterday, created a few good chances but the general knackardess of JRod and Rickie meant that they were never likely to get on the end of any of it. Great free kick again from Rickie though, turned onto the post by Lloris, Guly should have buried the rebound. -

ball was moving about all over the place, seen it from behind the goal. -

Until we get a really adept striker we're going to struggle from time to time. We've had nothing at the sharp end since the Reading game. -

well as Canal + have insisted on showing us the goal about 500 times I thought Shaw could have taken him down, probably have got a red of course and left us without a recognised LB, other than that Cork could have come forward and taken him down. Not very sporting of course but we'd probably have got a point in that way. Not sure that Morgan wouldn't have taken one for the team in those circumstances.
