Justly it's not Adkins, that's the bloody problem.
-
Let's put it this way, in my own personal opinion as long as Les Reed is on any committee whatsover at SFC the results achieved by said committee will be open to question. Gerrard once said he had no respect for the man and neither do I. How can a man who has achieved so little be responsable for so much.
-
It might well have been planned to use an out and out striker as a wide man, we have some strange ideas like that. I mean it worked for Walcott didn't it but now he wants to be a real striker. Just because you're fast on your feet it doesn't make you a wide man although we seem to think that it does. To be a real wide man you need guile and speed and the ability to go past a player without losing control of the ball..
-
What wide man? Mayuka is a point striker, he's not a wide man.

Who we've been linked with for January thread...

Probably will, just a pity that NA has realised that about 8 games too late. -
he doesn't play him, it's evident.

The populace should not be entrusted with major decisions, as you say most of them do not have the intellectual capacity. Now if you had a referendum amongst those with at least a B.A or a B.Sc you might get a reasonable response. New York syndrome should always be remembered whgen any political decision is in the offing.
-
Nigel wanted 2 CBs he said so, pretty memorable really because he rarely says anything in so definitive a manner, he got 1 at the last gasp and had Mayuka forced upon him. Bloke needs to grow a pair and sort out that flipping committee.
-
But could the manager not say to the "transfer committee" I do not want Mayuka, I want a CB ? How difficult is that to achieve ?
-
But as NA likes to point out himsef often enough it's not about 11 players. If the squad of 24 isn't good enough then it's up to him to do something about that. I find the very idea that a PL manager can in any way be dissociated with the quality of his group of players absolutely laughable. He's the manager and as far as I know responsable for first team affairs. When the team is not performing the manager carries the can, it's football; NA needs to do something about all the rubbish he's been forced to put up with.
-
How do you know that, has NA been telling us porkies again ? Sorry being economical with the truth over injuries is what I should have said.
-
Depends if Clyne and Gaston are fit really though doesn't it. If the news on those 2 isn't good we could go to Villa with a really makeshift side. Still we'll see later when the prematch is up on Player.
-
no he's 23 pushing 24 so he has to be in the 25, we have an answer though.
-
Out of interest where would we stand on Martin viz a viz the EPL 25 man squad rule ? He's not in the original one, could we add him now as we're in a TW. Not suggesting playing him but we might need him on the bench.
-
Adkins, he's the manager and he has to impose himself on team issues. If he can't he walks as would any respectable manager.
-
what he suggested doesn't matter, jeez people cannot see that a manager should stick to his guns and get the players he wants at least for key positions. I bet Sir Alex or Moyes don't get fobbed off with committee choices over their own. NA was clearly duped by KD into thinking he was a PL keeper or at least better than what he been fobbed off with.
-
Adkins win ratio in the PL is what 20%, 4 out of 20 is that it ? Take away the 2 totally evitable Gazza howlers and it becomes 30%,6 in 20. With a decent keeper which he should have insisted on us acquiring in May or June last year he'd have a really respectable PL record as well. But he didn't and thus he hasn't so he isn't a good manager. These are the hard facts,no use waving your arms about and talking about League 1 or the NPC.
-
but only because of 2 Gazza howlers, we're only as good as our weakest link.
-
Gone a bit quiet, perhaps all is agreed and we're getting another BVI loan
-
In the immediate Adkins' future will probably be decided by the results of the away games against Villa and Wigan. If we're in the bottom 3 after those 2 then I'd think it's curtains for him.
-
Perhaps Shaw just likes playing, wouldn't get in front of Gibbs at the Arse so he'd not be playing much PL football.

The January 2013 HCDAJFU thread...

Just like M'Vila he's either burnt out already or is just dreaming of his next big pay deal. It's a recurrrent problem, they hit the headlines at ridiculously young ages on the back of one or 2 good performances and then they just slide downhill. M'Vila is available for 8 million € and the best he's getting is from QPR, a year ago Real and the Arse were falling over themselves for him. Like that kid Varaane, transferred to Real reserves at 18, since then downhill. -

You obviously haven't had the dubious pleasure of seeing him this season then. A right lazy sod, gives up easily and doesn't tackle any more. No doubt just running down his contract on the way out. Bad attitude, that's nothing new though. -
Honestly I'd say Danny Rose or Assouu Ekotto are better left backs right now than Shaw. Shaw has potential but either of those 2 would do a better job right now and would be available for less than 10 million £
-
In Premier League terms, nothing whatsoever.
