  1. Didn't Clyne go off with an injury yesterday or was it just tactical; If he's out for any time along with Morgan and Corky we're really in the crapper, unless of course you rate Fox in any way.
  2. Unsurprising, didn't the chairman say we were expecting top half? Guess he got that wrong then, we'll be lucky to get above the bottom quarter.
  3. Puncheon is supposed to be injured in some way isn't he? Or is that just a rumour being circulated to explain him being dropped in favour of a 7 million £ misfit?
  4. And then again when we lost Cork on Tuesday night. Must have known from last Saturday onwards that Morgan was out for yesterday's game so the plan was probably Davis+Cork with JWP replacing whichever looked the most shàgged at 65 minutes. Corky's silly incident with the turf at SMS blew all that away.
  5. United were there for the taking, they're a shambles right now, if reffing decisions in their game against Liverpool had gone against them they could be already on 3 losses so far. We f*cked up because we got the subs wrong against them and a point at least was ours to lose.
  6. What is more i don't think he played a single league game in CM last season, it's a specialist role not one for odd job men. Chaplow is far too erratic in both tackling and ball control to be considered as an adequate replacement in CM. Last season virtually the whole of the CM burden was borne by Morgan,Deano and Cork. Now we come to a 2/3/4/5 game period where none of them are available to us. Davis might be OK but he needs a real enforcer alongside him, against Arsenal he played the more defensive role of the 2 in the first half and we got taken apart, 2nd half Morgan moved back and we were more stable. Depending on the seriousness of both injuries we might even need to go looking for an out of contract CM of some quality, won't be easy to find though, guess we'd have to look at places where the season runs at a different period of the year and contracts are up already.
  7. If Morgan were to be out for another 5 weeks and Cork for 6 I'd think our season will have sunk to a desperation level by the time they're back cos Davis and JWP in CM is far too lightweight and slow . They don't tackle and they don't intercept, they just swan about .
  8. Top 10 of course cos that's what NC said our aim was Now I'd be pleased if we aren't relegated with a horrificly low points total.
  9. Our player who puts in the most tackles (including successful ones) and the most interceptions in virtually every match. Against Villa think he put in about 10 winning tackles, won a shedload of balls and pulled off about 15 interceptions. For comparison Fonte and Yoshida probably didn't win as many tackles between them and Davis won about 1. Morgan looks lazy but statistics blow that theory to bits, he puts himself about a lot and is often where he needs to be when he needs to be to cut out a pass and get us moving forward thus taking off pressure from the defence. Morgan is also deceptively fast, think I read somewhere that he put in a burst of over 20 mph against Man U and that translates into about a 10.5 sec 100 metres whiich again is f*cking fast. Most adults would struggle at 14/15 seconds.
  10. Well we might have to spread it about a bit (or lay it off in bookie speak). Apparently there's a big enquiry into players (or their relatives) of Montpellier Handball Club betting on them to lose a match after they'd already won their Championship.
  11. So if the club were to place a wager of say 40 million with whatever turf account gives the most favourable odds on relegation we'd be quids in, either we stay up and get the cash or we go down and get the cash. Sort of insurance policy.
  12. 35 million always seems like bit of an overestimate to me. 25 million is probably nearer the mark, still a lot of money though.
  13. So in fact your afternoon was singularly informative. Not only did you watch the match but you could probably talk your way out of a street ambush in the back streets of Naples (or Chicago)
  14. Knee injury picked up in the last few minutes against Villa apparently. Probably some crunching tackle or other. Morgan is our player with the most tackles and the most interceptions, way way beyond any of the defenders.
  15. Nothing new though, he was the same after we got thumped a couple of times last season as well. He's not wrong though, we have to take our chances when they arise.
  16. Ah but then I don't know much about either place, but the 2 names mean the same thing, well if you speak ancient Celtic they do anyway. How do i know this? well I'm a bit of a student of Arthurian Legend in my spare hours.
  17. He sounded defensive, as if he were trying to justify the starting system today.Full of if onlys and could have beens.
  18. but less than Jack Cork, sounds like a how long's a piece of string question. Pity for Morgan really, with Mavuba and Diaby out he must have been on the verge of a call up for France's game with Japan.
  19. I guess that being a relatively small club having spent a reported 7 million £ on a player we feel that we should be getting some mileage out of said player. As we have Lambert as a central striker then JRod has to be drafted into a complimentary role.
  20. If I told you that Watersmeet in err Devon and Calne in Wiltshire could be twin towns you could work it out for yourself.
  21. So then what did NA say in his post match interview ?
  22. probably a 5 year old girl.
  23. Until they pick up a load of injuries and suspensions, then they'll get hammered by Norwich and Reading. Good team, poor squad.
  24. He'll just say he has a knock and they're assessing it.
